Israel Plans to Build 22 New Settlements in West Bank

Israa Farhan
Israel has declared its intention to build 22 new settlements across the occupied West Bank, including the formal approval of previously unauthorized outposts.
The decision was announced Thursday and is seen as a major expansion of Israeli presence in the territory captured during the 1967 war.
Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that the move strengthens Israel's control over the area, referring to it by its biblical names, Judea and Samaria.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also
confirmed
the plan, saying it would enhance Israel's hold on the eastern front, boost national security, and prevent the creation of a Palestinian state.
The newly announced settlements will span the north, center, and south of the West Bank, including four positioned near the Jordanian border. Some of the areas to be rebuilt include former settlements like Homesh and Sa-Nur, which were evacuated in 2005 during Israel's disengagement from Gaza.
The Israeli government, considered the most hardline in its history, says the plan is a strategic response to Palestinian attacks and a fulfilment of what it views as a historic right to the land.
Palestinian groups, including Hamas, condemned the move, calling it a direct attempt to Judaize Palestinian land and a breach of international law. Human rights groups argue that this step further entrenches the occupation and eliminates prospects for a future Palestinian state.
Over 500,000 settlers currently live in the West Bank among nearly 3 million Palestinians, under Israeli military control. The decision comes just ahead of a planned international conference aimed at reviving the two-state solution.

France Bans Smoking on Beaches, in Public Parks

Israa Farhan The French government has announced plans to ban smoking in public beaches, parks, school fronts, and other outdoor public spaces from 1 July. The move aims to protect children and follows similar restrictions introduced across Europe amid growing public opposition to smoking. The ban will exclude open-air café terraces and will not apply to electronic cigarettes. Scientific studies have shown significant public health benefits from prohibiting smoking in public areas. Health and Family Minister Catherine Vautrin told *Ouest-France* newspaper, 'Tobacco must disappear wherever children are present.' She added , 'From 1 July, beaches, public parks, playgrounds, school grounds, bus shelters, and sports facilities across France will be smoke-free, banning smoking in these areas to safeguard our children.' Tobacco kills around 200 people daily in France, officials noted. A recent report from the French Observatory for Drugs and Addiction revealed that smoking rates in the country have reached historic lows. The report indicated that fewer than one in four people aged 18 to 75 smoke daily, the lowest rate since records began in the late 1990s. France follows the example of the UK, which implemented a similar ban last year, while certain Spanish regions have already prohibited smoking on beaches. Sweden has banned smoking in outdoor areas of restaurants, bus stops, train platforms, and schoolyards since 2019. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan

Abou El-Enein Foundation Distributes 250,000 Kilos of Eid Meat Nationwide

By Ahmad El-Assasy Quarter-million kilos of Qurbani meat to reach vulnerable families in nationwide charity campaign The Abou El-Enein Foundation for Social and Cultural Development continues its large-scale humanitarian campaign to distribute Eid al-Adha meat across all Egyptian governorates, in partnership with the National Alliance for Civil Development Work. The campaign, which began nearly a month ago, aims to distribute a total of 250,000 kilograms of high-quality meat to low-income and vulnerable families as part of the foundation's ongoing social support efforts. Each day, as festive chants and spiritual celebrations of Eid fill the air, families gather at the foundation's main centres in Giza, Ard El-Lewa, and other governorates across the country to receive their share of 'Eid meat.' All sacrificial animals are carefully selected from premium Egyptian cattle breeds of medium weight. Slaughtering, processing, and packaging are carried out under strict health and quality standards, operating around the clock to ensure meat safety and freshness upon delivery. The campaign is powered by a large network of dedicated volunteers and foundation staff, who have worked tirelessly for months — without breaks or holidays — to prepare for the initiative. Their efforts are directly guided by Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Foundation, alongside Somaya Abou El-Enein, Vice-Chair of the Foundation. Emphasis has been placed on welcoming recipients with dignity, streamlining the distribution process, and ensuring a joyful and respectful atmosphere throughout the campaign. This initiative reflects the foundation's long-standing commitment to supporting underprivileged communities and promoting inclusive development through sustained charitable outreach. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan
