Peter England
, a
menswear brand
from Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail has released a new campaign titled '
The League of Legends
'.
The campaign is a stirring tribute to the timeless spirit of cricket and its enduring legacy, brought to life by cricketing icons
Vivian Richards
,
Kapil Dev
and the voice of international cricket himself,
Harsha Bhogle
.
The brand has taken a bold step by uniting cricket lovers with a dash of fashion —not for sports jerseys, but to create a
cricket-inspired collection
, 'The League of Legends' collection- an extension to the brands existing 'The Gentleman's League' Collection.
At the heart of the campaign are four cinematic films that blend nostalgia, mentorship and personal legacy.
Two of these brand films feature cricketing icons Dev and Richards as they step in to guide young players through moments of doubt and pressure, offering wisdom and quiet strength drawn from their own legendary careers.
Clad in key pieces from the collection, the legends embody timeless grace and strength. Bhogle's evocative commentary ties the scenes together, elevating the emotional impact.
Complementing these are the third and fourth reaction films, where the legends first lay eyes on their tribute tees—the '83' and '79' T-shirts with their iconic poses—designed to honour their World Cup triumphs. The emotion is raw and real, capturing just how much the game—and its legacy—continues to mean to them.
Dev shared, 'This campaign brought back so many emotions. To see the spirit of '83 captured in a design—it's very special and I'm grateful to Peter England for making this. I've always believed cricket teaches you how to carry yourself. This collection does exactly that—with style and pride.'
Richards said, 'Style is about confidence. And cricket—well, that's a game of confidence. It's amazing to see a collection that reflects both. That '79 tee? That's not just a t-shirt. That's history. And I'm honoured that Peter England chose me.'
Bhogle added, 'This is my second season with Peter England, and I've enjoyed being a part of the brands journey in creating fashion for the cricket lover. Cricket is a narrative—a beautiful, unpredictable story. Lending my voice to these films was about celebrating those stories. I think every cricket lover will feel that same emotion when they watch this campaign.'
Anil S Kumar, chief business officer, Peter England said, 'With legends like Kapil Dev, Sir Vivian Richards on board, we're paying our humble tribute to the game and everything it stands for. We love how the voice of international cricket, Harsha Bhogle himself has added passion and a real feel of commentary to our films. The League of Legends is about inspiring individuals to carry that same spirit—on and off the field.'
The campaign is currently live across more than 240 stores, featuring on
IPL
and major digital platforms, and a series of on-ground activations, amplified through strategic content collaborations and immersive experiences.

Geeta Basra said yes to marry Harbhajan Singh when he scored 300 wickets, reveals Yuvraj Singh helped him get her number: 'They had just won the World Cup'

Geeta Basra entered the film industry at the age of 21, debuting opposite Emraan Hashmi in Aditya Datt 's 2006 romantic thriller Dil Diya Hai. The following year, she teamed up with Hashmi again for the crime thriller The Train. Around this time, her path crossed with cricketer Harbhajan Singh , who was instantly taken by her. 'He was very clear. He saw my poster, and it was probably love at first sight for him. He asked Yuvi ( Yuvraj Singh ) for my number. Obviously, Yuvi has a lot of friends,' Basra shared, subtly referencing Yuvraj Singh's links with actors like Deepika Padukone and Kim Sharma. Harbhajan reached out to her, but Basra didn't respond at first, admitting she knew nothing about cricket or cricketers. 'They'd just won the World Cup. So a couple of days later, I'd messaged, 'Well done! Congratulations!' That's it. We got in touch again. When we met, he was very clear he didn't want friendship and said, 'Tere se hi shaadi karunga' (I'll marry only you). I said, 'Shaadi?' I was only 21,' she recalled during an interview on BHARTI TV. At that stage, Basra was just beginning her acting career and wary of the industry's challenges. 'I'd just stepped into the industry. Fifteen years ago, it was a very different time for women. Even if you were spotted with someone, your career was over. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This Device Helped Me Move Without Back Pain Again NeuroMD® Learn More Undo I lost out on four films because of the news that I was getting married. So I always say maybe I came to India so I could meet my partner and soulmate,' she reflected. Born in England, Basra had moved to Mumbai to pursue acting. Although Harbhajan was quick to express his feelings, Basra took her time. 'For him, it was love at first sight. But I took 10 months to say yes. I told him the day you'd score 300 wickets, I'd say yes. A couple of days later, he got 300 wickets. So I said let's give it a shot. Because all my friends told me he's a very good guy. He's a star, but doesn't have the attitude of a star. He's humble. He's also a Punjabi like me. That matters a lot because he can gel with my family, like my nani (maternal grandmother) who speaks only in Punjabi. So that sense of unity enters your family,' she explained. The couple tied the knot in 2015. Looking back, Basra shared what helped her make the decision: 'Sometimes, we just need to know, can I spend the rest of my life with this partner? Because we're from different countries so there's a cultural difference. Then he's so known so I was wondering if he's loyal. Because I never wanted to marry an actor because there's a perception. But he's beyond that. He's a very grounded person. ' "Get the latest updates on Times of India, including reviews of the movie Coolie and War 2 ."

Australia Great Names Indian Cricketer Who 'Ticks Every Box'. Not Virat Kohli Or Shubman Gill

Ravindra Jadeja's trademark sword-swinging celebration has been a common sight on the cricketing field. But former Australia pacer Brett Lee has cautioned the veteran all-rounder in pulling off the celebration, saying he is at the risk of injuring his rotator cuff muscle. Jadeja amassed 516 runs in the drawn 2-2 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy Test series against England, including hitting five half-centuries and one hundred. 'The thing with Jadeja, the only way I see him getting injured is doing a rotator cuff with his, the way he does a sword celebration. So, I love it. Look after your body. Don't celebrate too hard,' said Lee on his YouTube channel on Sunday. Jadeja retired from T20Is after India's T20 World Cup win last year. But he continues to remain a force to reckon with in Tests and ODIs for India. Lee, the former Australian speedster went on to shower praise on Jadeja, and predicted he will go on to play 100 Test matches for India. 'Another sort of 15 Tests, it's about two years. I think he'll go past the 100 mark. I think he's one of the best all-rounders that we've seen. 36 years of age, he's still got a good couple of years left in him.' 'The term we like to use, factory-made cricketer. He has everything that a cricketer needs, and I think he ticks every single box. He does the basics right, he's got a simple technique, no fuss. He runs in and bowls accurately, he bowls the correct line and length when needed, and gets through his overs quickly.' '36 years of age, but the fittest. He's the fittest in the team, he covers a lot of ground, and he prides himself on being the fittest. That is probably the reason why he never shies away from those big moments. He likes to be in the game, he's an entertainer, and he's probably one of the factory cricketers that if you put everything into a mix, throw it into a bucket, mix all up, pick out your best cricketer, Jadeja will be at the top of the list,' he concluded.
