Janhvi Kapoor shines in a golden-white lehenga for Janmashtami celebrations

Janhvi Kapoor has been showcasing stunning ethnic looks during the promotions for her film *Param Sundari*. Recently, she celebrated Krishna Janmashtami in a beautiful golden-and-white Anita Dongre lehenga, complete with a flower-adorned braid. She even participated in breaking the Dahi Handi, charming the crowd by speaking in Marathi. The film, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra, is set to release on August 29. Janhvi Kapoor is making her Param Sundari promotions feel like a fashion showcase and we are here for it. With each outing, she's serving one standout ethnic look after another. On Saturday, which also happened to be Krishna Janmashtami, Janhvi stepped out in a dreamy golden-and-white lehenga for a Dahi Handi celebration. The lehenga, designed by Anita Dongre, was the kind of festive perfection that blends tradition with a touch of glam. The star of the outfit was her heavily embellished golden blouse, sleeveless but featuring an ornate neckline and detailed back that gave it a royal vibe. She paired it with a flowy white skirt brushed with golden embroidery along the hem, balancing sparkle with softness. Accessories were kept on point with classic kundan earrings, while her hairstyle added a playful, celebratory touch, a thick braid woven with tiny flowers. It was festive dressing done right, the kind that makes you want to bookmark it for weddings and pujas. Sharing her look on Instagram before the event, Janhvi cheekily noted that her co-star Sidharth Malhotra was missing from promotions that day, writing, 'Param was missing today so found myself another Sundariiiiii @srashtisoni26 for Dahi Handiiiiiii.' At the event, Janhvi charmed the crowd further by speaking in Marathi. And yes, she didn't just watch the Dahi Handi, she actually broke it, asking with a smile, 'Zor se marna padega?' before smashing it successfully. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? R Madhavan REACTS To Working With Younger Heroines: 'People Feel Picture Ke Bahaane Aish Kar Raha'

Last Updated: R. Madhavan opens up on ageing, insecurities and choosing age-appropriate heroines. R Madhavan, who was recently seen in Aap Jaisa Koi, recently opened up about ageing, career choices and equality in relationships. In the film, he played a man in his 40s searching for a bride, a story that mirrors some of his real-life reflections on age. 'One of the first times you get hit about your age is when your kids' friends start calling you uncle. It hits you by shock but then you have to come to terms with it," Madhavan admitted in a chat with Hindustan Times. Age, the actor says, has also shaped his work decisions. 'When you are doing movies, you realise that you have to be careful in the choice of heroines, because even though they still want to work with you, it looks like the actor is having fun on the pretext of the movie. People feel ye picture ke bahaane aish kar raha hai. If that is the overwhelming feeling coming out of a movie, then woh character ke liye respect nahi rehta hai," he explains. He adds, 'There is also the realisation that my body strength is not such that I can do things like a 22-year-old. It's essential for me to realise that age appropriateness and the kind of people I'm working with, are aligned so that it doesn't look sleazy." Madhavan also shared his thoughts on equality in marriage, inspired by his relationship with Sarita Birje. 'The relationship that my mother and father shared, they were also equally and deeply in love with each other, and that I think I share with my wife too. But the sense of equality that my father had in the relationship is very different from the sense of equality that I am having right now. We have to define what that equality means." He explained, 'Sometimes opening a door or holding the door for a lady is considered offensive by some. The guy is not trying to offend, he's just following his manners. In a patriarchal society, a man allowing his wife to work is considered generous. Saying 'I'm proud my wife is working' is the better way." view comments First Published: August 17, 2025, 13:05 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
