EastEnders legend unveils new look leaving fans stunned
EastEnders fans have been left stunned by former star Jo Joyner's new look.
The actress, 47, is best known to viewers of the BBC One soap as Tanya Branning – a role she played across several stints between 2006 and 2018.
Some of her biggest stories included discovering husband Max's (Jake Wood) affair with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) on Christmas Day, and then – when she finally reunited with Max – finding out he was a bigamist.
The last time we saw her on screen was to say goodbye to daughter Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald), who died after falling from the roof of The Queen Vic.
Months later, it was then revealed that Tanya was in a mental health facility, struggling to cope with the loss of her middle child.
Since leaving The Square, Jo has starred in Channel 4 school-based soap Ackley Bridge, leading a number of 5 dramas and playing the lead in drama Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators.
She's also appearing in new Paramount Plus thriller Little Disasters.
The series follows four women who are bonded by motherhood, but are then torn apart when one of the group is accused of injuring her baby. Jo's character – an A&E doctor – is then left with a predicament… whether or not to contact social services.
The actress recently spoke to Metro about being compared to Nicole Kidman, after the show was branded as the next Big Little Lies.
However, following an appearance on The One Show last night, it wasn't the new Paramount drama that caught viewers' attention, but rather Jo's new look.
Throughout her time on EastEnders and Ackley Bridge, she sported a luscious blonde weave – but her locks have now been dyed a dark brown colour.

Praising her brunette weave, another added: '#theoneshow Jo Joyner out of EastEnders she's looking good, good actress too.'
In 2023, she ruled out a return to EastEnders, citing that she preferred to play a variety of different roles.

But there is one former part she has her eyes on. In 2005, she played a guest role in Doctor Who, and told us that she would go back to travelling with The Doctor in a heartbeat. More Trending
'The wonderful thing about Doctor Who is that you could go back a million times with a million different faces and no one would know, well, the Whovians would know. But you could play all sorts,' she explained.
'It's endless, boundless imagination for something like Doctor Who. I'm very proud to have been part of the franchise, and I would definitely do it again.'

Race Across The World dedicates episode to Sam Gardiner after his death
The landscape gardener competed in the global travel competition's second series with his mother, Jo Gardiner, who said she was 'devastated'. Wednesday's episode of the fifth series on BBC One ended with a picture of Mr Gardiner, saying: 'In loving memory of Sam Gardiner 2000-2025'. The accident happened on the A34 in Gatley, near Cheadle on Monday, May 26 and he died on Thursday, May 29 from his injuries, his family said. He had been working on an isolated estate on the west coast of Scotland and was home in Manchester for a family gathering. Mrs Gardiner, who was featured in the 2020 series that was set in Mexico and Argentina, and his father, Andrew, said they were 'devastated' and would 'hold on to the memories that made him so special'. They also said that their son was 'loyal, funny and fiercely protective', and 'brought warmth, laughter and a smattering of chaos wherever he went. He leaves behind a huge hole in our hearts'. Police confirmed the 'single vehicle collision', and said his family are being 'supported by specially trained officers'. A spokesperson for Race Across The World said he had been an 'integral part' of the show and sent their 'deepest condolences to his parents, Andrew and Jo; his brothers, William and Charlie; his step mum Justine; his family and friends'. The statement also said: 'Everyone who worked with him and indeed everyone who watched Sam could see just how precious and transformative the trip was for both him and his mum, Jo. 'Sam embraced the seven-week trip with an energy, love and a determination that saw the pair enjoy adventures across Mexico to Argentina, making audiences fall in love with them and their special bond as a result.' There are plans for a private funeral for family and friends.

Fife neighbours scoop cash jackpot on BBC quiz show Bridge of Lies
A team of neighbours from a Fife town has won the cash jackpot on the hit BBC quiz show Bridge of Lies. The team of four from Coaltown of Wemyss, scooped the £4,575 prize money in a nail-biting finale on Wednesday. The contestants included former Courier reporter Craig Smith and his wife, Lyndsey, along with neighbours, Nicola Forrest and Kenny Rodger. Contestants compete against the clock using their general knowledge, strategic skills, and often luck, to spot correct answers as well as lies in order to cross the bridge. The prize money mounts up depending on the number of players who successfully make it across. The contestants then team up to take on the 'final crossing' challenge. If they successfully make it across by answering a series of questions correctly, they win the prize money accumulated during the show. The quiz is hosted by actor Ross Kemp, famous for his role as Grant Mitchell in Eastenders. Tackling questions on subjects including holidays, theatre, names and the Stephen Spielberg films, all four made it across the bridge. This allowed them to go for the £4,575 prize pot working as a team to navigate across the bridge. With two of the team already out before completing the task, it was Lyndsey's turn to face the final question. And it was an agonising few seconds before host, Kemp, revealed that she was correct and they had scooped the prize money. The four hugged and cheered as they were congratulated by Kemp before revealing they would use the money on a group holiday ot Turkey. Speaking after the show was broadcast, Craig said he'd always wanted to be a contestant on a TV quiz show. He said: 'I applied initially one night, probably after a bottle of wine, thinking it wouldn't go anywhere but they gave us a call back and it went from there really. 'I've always liked the show as it's usually on around teatime in the background, and you end up just shouting at the screen. 'So I thought 'why not give it a go?' The 43-year-old former Courier reporter said he couldn't believe it when he found out his application had been successful. He added: 'It was filmed last September, so it's been around nine months to wait for it to come on. 'We had a brilliant time at the studios in Glasgow, and Ross Kemp is a really nice guy as well. 'We were last on the day to film, so it went on until about 8pm. 'None of us could watch it go out live, so we all gathered together to watch it on iPlayer with a wee glass of fizz to celebrate.' Craig said that the money had been put towards a holiday in Turkey in July for the team as well as several other Coaltown of Wemyss neighbours.
