
Hazza bin Zayed receives winners of 18th Khalifa Award for Education from Al Ain Region
ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Ain Region, has received the winners of the Khalifa Award for Education 2025 from the Al Ain Region.The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Humaid Al Houti, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education.His Highness congratulated the winners of the 18th Khalifa Award for Education, commending their outstanding initiatives and projects, which exemplify innovation and excellence in the education sector.During the meeting, His Highness received a brief overview of the award, presented by the Secretary-General, on its development, objectives and 10 main fields, which are distributed across 17 categories, highlighting its diversity and comprehensive approach to supporting the education sector.The winners also presented to His Highness an overview of the projects and initiatives for which they were recognised in the current edition of the award, highlighting their contributions to further advancing the education sector both in the Al Ain Region and across the UAE.His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the significance of the Khalifa Award for Education as a leading national platform that recognises educational and teaching excellence, and talent.
His Highness stated that the award plays a vital role in encouraging innovation and excellence across various educational fields and levels, in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who places a strong emphasis on education as a foundation for preparing empowered generations capable of keeping pace with rapid scientific and technological progress and contributing effectively to national development across key priority sectors.
Additionally, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the pivotal role of the Khalifa Award for Education and the Chairman of its Board of Trustees, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, play in showcasing outstanding talents and pioneering projects that reflect a spirit of excellence and progress within the educational system.
His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised that honouring such inspiring and impactful role models strengthens a culture of excellence and serves as a powerful motivation to continue further advancing educational practices, in alignment with the UAE's aspirations and the leadership's future strategic vision for fostering national talents and competencies.
The list of winners who attended the meeting included a distinguished group of educators and representatives from various educational and academic institutions in the Al Ain Region. Among them were: Mohamed Elsayed Abdulwahab Tarabai from Al Qoua C2 School and Dr Omar Husein Al Naoursi from the Institute of Applied Technology – Tahnoun bin Mohammed Educational Complex, under the Creative Teacher Category; Mohammed bin Khalid School for Basic Education, represented by Fatima Rashid Al-Neyadi, and Al-Tomouh School, represented by Noura Abdullah Al-Dhaheri, under the Institutional Education Performance Category; the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center, represented by Mariam Hamad Obaid Al Shamsi, under the Institutions Category; Mahra Masoud Al Nuaimi from Alhosoon Charter School, under the Innovative Teacher Category; Professor Fathalla Ali Fathalla Rihan, Professor Zafar Saeed Nadar Sheir, and Professor Riyad Aly Mohammed Eid, all from the United Arab Emirates University, under the Distinguished University Lecturer Category.

The event took place on Monday and Tuesday, with the final day set for August 14, at the Nabdh Al Falah community Amina Al Majed, president of the association, opened the conference by emphasising that the youth are the foundation of the nation and a vital force in its than serving as a space for meaningful discussions, the forum connects the youth with decision-makers. The new generation is able to share their ideas, express their needs, and talk about the challenges they forum fosters cooperation between the youth and institutions, the society said.'This year, the forum adopts a renewed vision, presenting a different theme each month aligned with global events and occasions, such as the International Day of Families, Father's Day, and the summer vacation. It also offers quality programmes that address key youth issues, providing more interactive and relevant content,' it Mouza Al Nuaimi, faculty member at Abu Dhabi University and member of the society's board of directors, has been encouraging her students to attend the forum, saying it could expand their horizons while supporting personality part of its mission of immersing young talents in community work, Sanad Alwatan Women Society has a series of initiatives in the pipeline.'We are currently in the process of launching an initiative aimed at involving the children of our members to volunteer at the association's events. UAE carries out aid drop in Gaza and its lorries deliver 500 tonnes of food
The UAE and Jordan carried out the 67th drop of humanitarian aid into Gaza on Tuesday, alongside seven aircraft from Germany, Italy, Belgium and France. The shipment included vital supplies, prepared with the support of UAE-based charities, as part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed, which aims to deliver food and relief supplies to the most affected areas of the strip. There were also 20 lorries loaded with about 500 tonnes of food that entered Gaza through land crossings, as part of the UAE's continuing efforts to deliver vital supplies by land and air, state news agency Wam reported. The total amount of aid parachuted in by the UAE has now reached more than 3,924 tonnes of various relief items, said Wam. This includes food and essential supplies. The Palestinian death toll since the war began on October 7, 2023 to 61,599, while 154,088 have been injured.

General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the ceremony featured presentations on the journey and achievements of the MoI Youth Council, the graduation of the first batch of the six-month Nucleus of the Future programme to train Emiratis for security and police careers, and the recognition of five outstanding youth-led projects under the Nabras Al Shabab Neyadi toured exhibits showcasing the council's current and future projects, including the Exceptional Leader project at the Police College and the Young Leaders by the Federal Youth Authority, the new youth space aims to enhance youth participation in decision-making, support innovation, and provide facilities for workshops, events and brainstorming sessions. It is the first of its kind across federal ministries and entities. The event concluded with a youth panel discussion hosted by the MoI Youth Council to mark International Youth Day.
