Rams announce location, start time for joint practice session with Saints
Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters over the weekend that both teams were in discussions about scheduling a joint practice after the Los Angeles Chargers backed out; the Saints will be in California this week before returning home to New Orleans for their next preseason game. His counterpart Kellen Moore said the decision to participate would come down to team health, so the Saints must feel comfortable with taking that risk.
For their part, the Rams are in good health, except for one major name: Matthew Stafford. The team's starting quarterback has been missing for most of the summer, including Tuesday's practice session, while dealing with a persistent back injury. He's been seen here or there in street clothes but lately has been sequestered in a zero-gravity restorative Ammortal chamber. Expect a lot of backups Jimmy Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett on Thursday.
Joint practice sessions are always a great opportunity for players to work against different opponents with unique skill sets. The Saints haven't had a chance to do that this summer, so stay tuned for updates from practice.

New Orleans Saints reportedly sign former Michigan State football lineman to contract
#UFL To NFL: New Orleans Saints Sign St. Louis Battlehawks C Mike PanasiukRead more via @ A former Michigan State football star is getting another crack at the NFL, but this time, it is coming on the opposite side of the ball. Mike Panasiuk was a star defensive lineman for the Spartans from 2016-2019, being the center piece for some very good Michigan State defenses. The Roselle, Illinois native ended up going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. After going undrafted, Panasiuk attempted to latch on with the Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers as a defensive tackle, but nothing ever stuck. Now, the former Spartan has flipped sides of the ball and is getting another crack at the NFL. Panasiuk was an All-UFL performer in both 2024 and 2025 with the St. Louis Battlehawks as a center, being in the middle of the offensive line instead of the defensive line. This surge in performance on the offensive side of the ball has led to the New Orleans Saints being interested in the former Spartan, reportedly inking him to a deal. Bears vs. Bills: Is Caleb Williams playing in Sunday's preseason game?
The Chicago Bears got back to work on Wednesday up at Halas Hall and are preparing for their second preseason game, a Sunday night tilt against the Buffalo Bills at Soldier Field. Head coach Ben Johnson opted to hold quarterback Caleb Williams and most of the starters out of last week's opener against the Miami Dolphins, but he has a different plan for this week. "Our starters are going to play. Everyone is going to play," Johnson said on Wednesday. Johnson provided Williams and the vast majority of the starting offense and defense reps prior to and after Sunday's 24-24 tie against the Dolphins. By the coach's count, Williams saw between 80 and 100 extra reps with that plan. Now, with a different schedule, Johnson wants to get everyone involved in this week's game as they gear up for the start of the regular season against the Minnesota Vikings. This will be Williams' first extended look in a game setting in Johnson's offense, though it's still unclear as to how many reps he and the starters will get against the Bills. The game is scheduled for Sunday, August 17th at 7 p.m. CT.

The Athletic shares new details of Aaron Donald's stalker, who claimed to be his wife
Donald's stalker has harassed him for years and believes she's married to him, even threatening his children Former Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald filed a restraining order against a stalker back in April after he received harassing messages for years from a woman who claimed to be his wife. That order was granted by a judge in May, and on Wednesday, The Athletic's Nathan Fenno published a story about Donald's stalker with additional details of her actions, which left Donald fearing for his safety. According to The Athletic, Donald's stalker, Janelle Anwar, 'sent him increasingly unsettling emails, chats and voice memos in addition to repeated phone calls' and sent numerous emails to Donald's brother. Anwar also had balloons and Amazon packages delivered to Donald's children and visited the former Rams star's football camp in Pittsburgh. In the filing by Donald, he feared for the safety of himself and his family after Anwar made threats against his son. Two weeks before the emailed performance review, Anwar sent a series of Google Chat messages that Donald took as threats against his 3-year-old son: 'So make sure you pay for (him) to live … Cause that's what it will be … You will have to pay for his life now and everyone will get a cut …' Even after having a restraining order filed against her, Anwar's pursuits did not stop. Claiming to be Donald's wife, he wanted to have his children's DNA tested, and also planned to subpoena 50 NFL players to see if they knew her as a 'spiritual guru.' She even alleged that Rams players broke into her home in L.A. and left a sock that belonged to Sean McVay. Donald's application for a restraining order in April didn't appear to give Anwar pause. Her responsive declaration filed a few days later sought to subpoena 50 NFL players — the suggested queries included whether they knew of her as a 'Spiritual Guru' — in addition to DNA testing for the Donald children. She wanted a handwriting expert to examine Donald's signature on the application. She suggested Rams players broke into her southwest L.A. home as a prank and left a sock belonging to coach Sean McVay — she wanted it tested for DNA, too. Anwar used at least nine email addresses to contact Donald, though he repeatedly blocked those accounts, as well as phone numbers she used. These messages began in 2020 and continued for years, leading Donald to file for the restraining order. The five-year restraining order prohibits Anwar from contacting Donald and his family, and she's also ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the Donalds, their homes, cars and workplaces.
