EA Sports snubs Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt on Madden 26 99 Club
Watt had a 97 rating in Madden 25, up from a 94 in Madden 24. Watt struggled down the stretch last season but was still one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Meanwhile, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was on the list and was the only defensive player who earned a 99 player rating. This is a big sting for Steelers fans as the rivalry between Garrett and Watt among the fanbase is heated.
EA Sports is giving early access to Madden 26 for seven days on August 7 if you pre-order the game. The official release date is August 14.

"It's Crazy in Person": Ryan Clark on Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Pittsburgh Steelers are gearing up for their first preseason game. Aaron Rodgers may not play much if at all during the preseason, but he's preparing for what he has said will be the final year of his NFL career. Rodgers is coming off of back-to-back disappointing years with the New York Jets. In his first season with the team, he tore his Achilles on the first series of the season. After that in year two, the team simply didn't come together well. Now, he's looking to finish off his legendary career with a successful year and hopefully Super Bowl contention with the Steelers. Clark took to social media to share a strong statement about Rodgers. "I can confirm it @AaronRodgers12 can still really throw the football... it's crazy in person!" Clark said. "2010-11 Super Bowl Flashbacks." No one should expect Rodgers to play like he did when he was in his prime. He may not be able to perform at that insane level, but he can still play at an elite level. Last season with the Jets, Rodgers played in all 17 games in his first year removed from the torn Achilles. He completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Those numbers were off the charts. Even at his age, Rodgers put together a season that many NFL quarterbacks would love to have. He has an elite weapon at the top of the wide receiver depth chart in the form of DK Metcalf. After Metcalf, he'll have Calvin Austin II, Robert Woods, and Roman Wilson as his main targets. Pittsburgh also has two talented tight ends in town. Both Pat Freiermuth and Jonnu Smith will be quality playmakers for Rodgers. Expect to see the longtime superstar quarterback play at a high level to finish off his career. Rodgers has a huge goal of winning a title with the Steelers and he's looking good on the field so far. 5 biggest surprises from 2025 Steelers unofficial depth chart
Steelers fans rejoice, the 2025 unofficial depth chart has been unveiled! The Pittsburgh Steelers have completely overhauled their roster through free agency, the 2025 NFL Draft, and trades this offseason — resulting in more than just a few positional shakeups. From co-position leaders to surprising rookie placements, here are the five biggest takeaways from the Steelers' 2025 unofficial depth chart. DE Derrick Harmon is a Day 1 starter Not all rookies are built the same, but the Steelers clearly view first-round DE Derrick Harmon as starting caliber — listing him as the DE1. There's clear excitement surrounding Harmon heading into Year 1, but the same can't be said, however, for rookie RB Kaleb Johnson. Kaleb Johnson at RB3 After Johnson received a few first-team opportunities at training camp, many assumed Jaylen Warren and the Steelers' third-round rookie could function as the RB-1A and RB-1B — with Kenneth Gainwell serving as a potential receiving back on certain plays. But the unofficial depth chart has Johnson listed as the RB3, where he might remain through the early parts of the season. Kenneth Gainwell, Jaylen Warren as kick returners While Mike Tomlin hinted that the two running backs were in consideration for kickoff return duties, many assumed WR Roman Wilson was winning the competition after he was spotted handling the role at training camp. Warren has experience at the position, as does Gainwell, but tasking your top two listed running backs feels more like a placeholder move — with the real selection likely to come at a later date. Jonnu Smith and Pat Freiermuth are competing for TE1 Many were shocked when Jonnu Smith was traded to Pittsburgh — but an equally surprising move is Freiermuth seemingly on the verge of losing TE1 responsibilities completely, as the two big pass catchers are co-leaders at the position. This battle is one to keep an eye on throughout preseason and the rest of training camp. Steelers punting battle is alive and well Despite many believing the return of P Cameron Johnston marked the beginning of the end for P Corliss Waitmann's Steelers tenure, both were listed as co-starters on the depth chart. Waitmann served admirably in Johnston's absence after the veteran suffered a season-ending knee injury last season and could potentially push him as preseason marches on. Travis Hunter, Cam Ward, other NFL rookies receive NFL welcome from legends in video
In just a few short weeks, much of the NFL's newest wave of talent will experience their official welcome to the National Football League. But before those Week 1 debuts come, several of the top NFL rookies received their "welcome" to the NFL in a different and heartfelt way. On Tuesday, Fanatics released the latest edition of its The Locker Room series, where NFL rookies, like Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter, Cam Ward, and Ashton Jeanty among others, received a message and a signed jersey from either an NFL legend or current NFL player that they are compared to. In his clip to Hunter, who was listed as a starting wide receiver in the Jacksonville Jaguars depth chart on Monday, Rice shared that his work ethic will help his career take off as he didn't "let anyone outwork" him in his. Two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning sent a message into Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who has publicly talked about his close relationship with the former G-Men quarterback over the last handful of seasons because of their Ole Miss connections. "It's been an honor to watch you these past three years break all my records at Ole Miss," Eli Manning said in the video. Added Dart after he read Manning's message on the signed jersey: "This is special. Not many people have this." Peyton Manning offered up a message to Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren, saying that he knows Colts fans will "be behind you every step of the way," just like they were for Manning, who won a Super Bowl and threw for 54,828 yards and 399 touchdowns in 13 seasons in Indianapolis. Of all the players featured in the video, New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was the one who got choked up the most when watching his message from four-time Pro Bowler Eddie George. "It means a lot just knowing how much he cares," Skattebo said in the video. "Because coming from a great and somebody that has done it and knows what it takes. I know he's there for me if I need it."
