GTA 6 in danger of being delayed to September 2026 claims insider
Ever since Rockstar pushed back GTA 6 from autumn 2025 to May 26 next year, fans have been dreading the possibility of another delay.
It wouldn't be out of the norm for Rockstar. The studio is known for delaying its games and while it has rarely done so twice for one title, it did for Red Dead Redemption 2. The western epic was originally slated for 2017, but it was delayed twice before it finally came out on October 26, 2018.
A series of job listings earlier this year suggested things were on track for GTA 6, but now an insider has claimed there are 'internal talks' within Rockstar about another delay.
In a post on X, insider Millie A, who has a mixed reputation but is known for accurate PlayStation-related leaks, claimed GTA 6 is 'planned' for May next year, 'but internal talks suggest a possible slip to Sep[tember]'.
GTA 5 originally launched in September 2013, and considering how successful that was, it perhaps makes sense that Rockstar would consider repeating the same rollout for GTA 6.
There have been reports of behind the scenes trouble too. According to a GTA leaker called GameRoll, who previously revealed the last names of GTA 6's protagonists Jason Duvall and Lucia Caminos, the closing portion of the campaign is undergoing some major changes.

GTA 6 Update:• Planned release: May 2026, but internal talks suggest a possible slip to Sep• MSRP– Standard: £69.99– Deluxe: £89.99 (early GTA Online access)– Premium: £109.99 (first GTA Online access)• PS5 marketing• Console bundles + PS5/Pro sales promos post-launch — Millie A (@millieamand) July 29, 2025
In screenshots from Discord, GameRoll claimed GTA 6's story would consist of five chapters, in a similar structure to Red Dead Redemption 2, which had six main chapters and two epilogues.
However, according to the leaker, the final chapter is in 'development hell', with all the shots from Trailer 2 being from chapters 1-3. They further claim chapter 4 and 5 'still aren't finished' and that 'a huge chunk' of chapter 5 has been cut, so it's being reworked entirely.
GameRoll later said this was from 'not a direct source' but a 'friend of a Rockstar developer' – the same person who gave him the information on Jason and Lucia's names. 'Some stuff here may be false, misinterpreted, or complete BS,' they wrote on X. 'I trust the source, but I have no way to prove any of it.'
Full list of information given to me by the same source who told me Jason and Lucia's last names:DISCLAIMER: I have no proof of any of this information other than it's all come from the same exact source who told me Jason and Lucia's last names. It is not a direct source. They… pic.twitter.com/8CdyjHYhsL — GameRoll (@GameRoll_) June 7, 2025
As his post outlines, it's worth taking all of this with a pinch of salt, especially as trailers usually lean on earlier portions of the game, but a delay certainly isn't out of the question. More Trending
Elsewhere, Millie A has claimed the standard edition of GTA 6 will be priced £69.99, but deluxe and premium editions will come in at £89.99 and £109.99, respectively. The former will apparently come with early GTA Online access, while the latter will offer 'first GTA Online access' – presumably some time after launch.
While not entirely unbelievable, it would be surprising if GTA 6 doesn't surpass £69.99 for the standard edition – especially in a world where Mario Kart World costs £74.99.
Beyond GTA 6, Rockstar is apparently gearing up to release a Switch 2 port of Red Dead Redemption 2, along with a GTA 4 remaster.

Viral hit 'Grow a Garden' pushes Roblox past 100 million users, lifts bookings
July 31 (Reuters) - Roblox (RBLX.N), opens new tab raised its annual bookings forecast on Thursday and topped 100 million in daily active users thanks to the viral success of farm simulation title "Grow a Garden", sending shares of the videogame platform rising more than 16%. Free-to-play titles and a wide availability across devices such as PlayStation helped Roblox draw millions of users across age groups and demographics, making it an investor darling in a sector under threat from economic uncertainty. "Grow a Garden", a tycoon-style game that allows players to grow their plots of land by trading seeds and plants, drove a majority of Roblox's engagement and bookings growth in the second quarter. Launched in March, the title set a world record last month for the most concurrent players to play a videogame. CFO Naveen Chopra told Reuters the game's success showed Roblox's investments in search and discovery features offered greater visibility to titles on its platform. "We build a compelling platform that then attracts creators; those creators will create games that will attract users," Chopra, who joined Roblox last month, said. Average daily active users, a key measure of engagement, grew 41% to 111.8 million in the quarter, while hours engaged jumped 58% to 27.4 billion. The company now expects fiscal 2025 bookings of between $5.87 billion and $5.97 billion, up from its previous forecast of $5.29 billion to $5.36 billion. Its third-quarter bookings forecast of between $1.59 billion and $1.64 billion was also higher than estimates, according to data compiled by LSEG. The strong growth, as well as efforts to diversify revenue with expansions into socializing, commerce and advertising, helped Roblox's shares more than double in value this year. That has left it just a few billion dollars short of a $100-billion market value. To incentivize game development, Roblox introduced a rewards program for developers. In the last 12 months, 18 creators earned more than $10 million on the platform, executives said.
