CM Chandrababu Promotes Investment Opportunities in AP
In a meeting attended by Ministers Lokesh, P. Narayana, TG Bharat, and other senior officials, CM Naidu outlined the new policies implemented by the Andhra Pradesh government aimed at attracting investment. He revealed that the state has set an ambitious target of 160 gigawatts in the green energy sector, with green hydrogen projects already approved.
Naidu also announced plans for the establishment of Quantum Valley in Amaravati, which is part of the India Quantum Mission, and confirmed that a Google data centre will be constructed in Visakhapatnam. He stated that the Rayalaseema region offers favourable conditions for investments in defence, aerospace, electronics, and the automobile industry and expressed his desire for Singaporean investments to be directed towards Andhra Pradesh as a gateway into India.
During the meeting, High Commissioner Ambule noted that 83 percent of the housing in Singapore is public housing. Minister Narayana highlighted various projects underway in Andhra Pradesh and sought necessary support to facilitate investment in the state. Meanwhile, Minister Lokesh elaborated on the government's initiatives in the education sector.

Mahamana's ancestral home in Prayagraj to be developed into memorial
1 2 Prayagraj: The ancestral home of Bharat Ratna Madan Mohan Malaviya, one of India's greatest educationists, cultural reformers and a key figure in the freedom movement, would soon be developed into a memorial. Situated in Malaviya Nagar, Prayagraj, the house where Mahamana, as he was called, was born on December 25, 1861, will now be preserved and presented in a manner befitting his legacy. The Uttar Pradesh govt has assigned joint responsibility to the public works department (PWD), municipal corporation, department of culture and revenue department to start the work. A four-member committee, formed under the supervision of the district magistrate, recently inspected the site and submitted its recommendations to the state govt. The file detailing the memorial's scope, features and required area has already been sent to Lucknow for approval. Departments concerned have been instructed to begin preparatory work. The initiative was originally proposed by late Justice Giridhar Malaviya, the grandson of Madan Mohan Malaviya. He expressed this desire during a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. As one enters the property, a modest courtyard leads to a room on the right, believed to be his childhood room and study. Though the Radha-Krishna idols once housed in the temple there have been moved to Varanasi, sacred items such as the conch used in rituals and a copy of Ramcharitmanas are still safely preserved. Two families of Malaviya's descendants continue to reside in parts of the property. One section of the house has been sold, and modern construction has taken place, yet the core part remains untouched and intact. Madan Mohan Malaviya made transformative contributions to Indian education, founding institutions like Banaras Hindu University and the Hindi Sahitya Sammelan. He also played a significant role in India's freedom struggle. He died on Nov 12, 1946, in Varanasi. "Mahamana's home has been inspected by the committee, and we have submitted the file to our higher-ups in Lucknow, who would take the decision on the form, area and facilities of the memorial," said manuscript officer (culture department), Ghulam Sarvar.

Asked to prove citizenship by Pune police, mob: Kargil veteran's family
Representative image PUNE: A Kargil war veteran's family in Pune has alleged they were forced to prove their Indian citizenship after a group of 30 to 40 men accompanied by police stormed their home late Saturday night. The family of Hakimuddin Shaikh, a retired soldier who fought in the 1999 Kargil war, alleged Tuesday the men arrived at their home in eastern Pune's Chandan Nagar & demanded documents. By midnight, male family members were taken to the police station. "We were told to wait until 3am and warned that if we failed to prove our citizenship, we would be declared Bangladeshi or Rohingya," a family member alleged. DCP Somay Munde said police acted on information about suspected illegal immigrants. "Our team asked for documents. Once it was clear they were Indian, we let them go. The police team was not accompanied by any third party. We have video footage." Hakimuddin, 58, served 16 years in the Army's 269 Engineer Regiment from 1984 to 2000. "I fought for this country in Kargil," he said. "My entire family belongs to this nation. Why are we being asked to prove it?" A police van waited down the road." The family includes two other Army veterans - Shaikh Naeemuddin and Shaikh Mohammad Salim, who served in the 1965 and 1971 wars. "Is this how soldiers' families are treated?" Irshad asked. "What does being Indian mean if we have to prove it every time someone knocks at the door?" The group allegedly refused to accept even valid documents. Even after showing Aadhaar cards, Hakimuddin's nephews Naushad and Nawab Shaikh said the group mocked the documents as fake. "They were acting like goons," Naushad alleged. "They kicked the door, shouted at the women, told them to wake up and show papers." Another nephew Shamshad Shaikh alleged police summoned them again Sunday. "We waited over two hours before being told the inspector wasn't coming. Our documents are still with them." Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar said that the case is being investigated. "If negligence is found, action will follow. Preliminary findings suggest police did not forcibly enter the house."
