Dhanashree Verma opens up on growth after divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal, reacts to 'misconceptions'
When asked how she has grown as a person since the divorce, Dhanashree told Bombay Times, "The challenges life throws at you teach you some of the most valuable and beautiful lessons. The biggest thing I have learnt is the importance of self-reliance and how my parents have raised a strong daughter. It has been a phase of growth and self-discovery, and I would like to continue with this as I am appreciative of how it has shaped me as a person.'
Dhanashree and Yuzvendra had a highly publicised divorce. There were initial rumours about Dhanashree demanding ₹ 60 crore as alimony.
On the day of their divorce hearing, Yuzvendra Chahal made headlines when he was spotted wearing a T-shirt that read 'Be your own sugar daddy.'
"I just want to focus on my work and let it speak for itself. Clarifying misconceptions often leads to more speculations, and if I would want any speculations, I would want it to be only and only around my work. I am focusing on my personal growth and professional commitments and would want it to be the leading narrative of my life," she added during the conversation.
Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal finalised their divorce on March 20.
She hopes that her journey has inspired others to strengthen their shield and weapons. 'I have been extremely disciplined in my life, and that has been one of the reasons, for me to stay positive and motivated, helping me put out the best work. Dancing, singing, and acting make me feel alive, as it is my passion, and it is enough to keep me positive. I stay true to my values and beliefs and keep on reminding myself of the reason why I started this journey. There are tough times, but my passion for my craft helps me stay focused and strong. I believe in working hard and letting it speak for me," she said.
On the work front, Dhanashree was last seen in a special dance number, titled Ting Ling Sajna from the latest released film Bhool Chuk Maaf. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, the film was released in theatres on May 23, 2025.
Dhanashree is said to make her Telugu debut soon.

Green India Challenge launches seed Ganeshas
As a symbol of tradition and environmental conservation, former Rajya Sabha MP and Green India Challenge (GIC) founder Joginapally Santosh Kumar, along with Telugu actor-producer Nara Rohith, unveiled eco-friendly seed Ganesha idols. Mr. Santosh Kumar presented the idols to devotees and staff at the Swarnagiri temple. With Ganesh Chaturthi around the corner, the aim of the initiative is to distribute 5,000 seed Ganesha idols free of charge. Crafted from natural clay, cocopeat, and coco powder, each idol is embedded with seeds of native trees like neem and tamarind. After the rituals, the idols can be immersed in soil, allowing the seeds to sprout into saplings that can later be transplanted into homes, parks, and public spaces, creating lasting green legacies. 'In today's era of pollution and ecological stress, planting and nurturing trees is not a choice but a necessity. The seed Ganesha initiative beautifully blends spirituality with sustainability,' he said in a statement. Over the years, the GIC has distributed 1.5 lakh seed Ganesha idols annually, and this year, it aims to reach 5 lakh idols, spreading the message of sustainability far and wide.

War 2 Worldwide BO Day 2: Hrithik Roshan's actioner holds steady, mints THIS amount
Starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, War 2 continues the YRF Spy Universe saga and has clearly struck a chord with international audiences and the box office. The much-anticipated action sequel War 2 roared into cinemas worldwide on August 14, raking in nearly ₹ 165 crore gross at the global box office in its opening two days. Backed by Yash Raj Films, the film opened to a substantial ₹ 84 crore gross on its first day, with day two collections holding steady in a similar range. While the Hindi version witnessed a noticeable jump in business, particularly in metropolitan centres, the Telugu version experienced a slight drop — a trend industry analysts describe as typical following high initial turnout from regional fans. The film also features prominent performances from Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Ashutosh Rana in key supporting roles, adding depth to the Ayan Mukerji film. Trade experts say the film's performance over the weekend will be critical. The opening numbers have been impressive so far, but with a budget reportedly exceeding ₹ 300 crore, the film will need to maintain momentum throughout the week to move into safe territory. Yash Raj Films, which has been building its ambitious shared cinematic universe, is counting on War 2 to be its next major tentpole following the success of Pathaan and Tiger 3. With positive word-of-mouth spreading on social media and strong bookings for the weekend, industry observers remain cautiously optimistic.
