Two charged with drugs offences following Llandrindod raid
TWO Powys men have been charged with multiple drugs offences following a police raid at a garage in Llandrindod Wells last week.
Scott Weale, 27, and Lee Wall, 33, both appeared at Mold Magistrates' Court on Friday, June 6, and were remanded into custody until the next hearing, which is due to be held at Mold Crown Court on July 4.
Weale, of Llethyr Bryn, Llandrindod, and Wall, of Llwynbrain Villas, Howey, were both arrested following a number of warrants executed by Dyfed Powys Police last Wednesday, June 4.
'Dyfed-Powys Police executed a number of warrants at properties in the Llandrindod Wells area and, as a result, two men were arrested, charged and appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on June 6,' said the force in a statement.
'Scott Weale has been charged with being concerned in the supply class A drugs; possession of Class B drugs; possession of a Section 1 firearm without a certificate; possession of ammunition without a certificate; and possession of criminal property.
'Lee Wall is charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs; possession with the intent to supply Class A drugs; and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.'
Weale is charged with seven offences in total. These include possessing a controlled drug of Class B (ketamine) on December 14, 2024. It is alleged Weale was in possession of 11.1 grams of ketamine.
Two more charges relating to December 14 include acquiring criminal property; it is said he had in his possession £3,570 in cash. He is also charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine between December 12-14.
Weale is accused of acquiring criminal property on June 4, relating to being in possession of £1,605 in cash.
On the same day it is alleged he was in possession of a firearm – a 9mm Turkish EKOL manufactured blank firing pistol – without a certificate; and also was in possession of ammunition without a firearms certificate.
Lastly, it is alleged he was in possession of MDMA, a Class A drug, on June 4.
Wall is charged with three offences: being concerned in the supply of cocaine between October 8, 2024, and May 16, 2025; possess with intent to supply cocaine (64 grams) and possess with intent to supply cannabis (it is said he was in possession of 13 grams of cannabis). The latter two charges relate to June 4.
No pleas were entered at last week's hearing, with magistrates sending the matters to the higher court.

Police provide update after bomb squad called to Llanelli
Yesterday (Wednesday, June 11), a bomb disposal unit attended New Dock Road as part of an ongoing police operation. Residents within the cordon were contacted directly by officers and a rest centre was set up at Llanelli Leisure Centre to support those affected by the disruption. During the incident, members of the public were also advised to avoid the area and stay informed via official police channels. Meanwhile, the device found at the address was made safe, and police have confirmed there is no wider threat to the public. Residents who had been asked to leave their properties were then told they could return home, and all roads were reopened. Chief Inspector Dominic Jones has thanked the community for their support and no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.

Worrying widely shared Facebook post about missing police officer and child is not what it seems The post has been shared over 1,200 times on some local Facebook pages in Wales but police say it is believed to be a scam This post about a missing police officer has been shared over 1,100 times and counting on Facebook (Image: Facebook Screengrab ) Police have confirmed that a widely shared post on local social media claiming that a female police officer is missing is likely fake and a scam. The post, which was shared in local Facebook groups, including in Pembrokeshire and Cardiff, claimed a 'female police officer' named 'Thelma Jakes' had gone missing. It claimed that the authorities had appealed for help in locating her. But Dyfed-Powys Police has now confirmed to WalesOnline that the post is misinformation which the force believes is a scam. When it was posted on a Cardiff Facebook group, the post claimed that the officer was missing in Cardiff, whereas, when it was posted on a Pembrokeshire Facebook group, it claimed that the officer was missing in that area. The post also tries to evoke an emotional response from those reading it by claiming that the officer's vehicle was discovered with her daughter inside while she remains unaccounted for. It concludes by asking people to share the post saying: "The community's help is urgently required. Sharing this information takes only 2 seconds." Police have warned against this, as it could contribute to misinformation. Dyfed-Powys Police has also said that there are no official reports from any other police force relating to the officer mentioned in the fake post. South Wales Police has also confirmed that there is no missing police officer in Cardiff. In statement on its Facebook pages for Pembrokeshire and surrounding areas, Dyfed-Powys Police said: "We have been made aware of social media posts relating to an alleged missing police officer in the Pembrokeshire area. "We can confirm that we have received no official report from any other police force relating to this individual and believe the post to be a scam.
