Thrive Whaikaha, an innovative program designed to empower individuals with disabilities to unlock their entrepreneurial potential, is set to begin again in July 2025. This free, bespoke, and empowering programme aims to break down barriers and provide tailored guidance for aspiring entrepreneurs who live with a disability.
A Programme Tailored for Success
Thrive Whaikaha offers participants an opportunity to develop a business idea from scratch. Whether they are just starting out, have prior experience, or are purely interested in entrepreneurship, the program provides the tools and support necessary to turn ideas into reality. Key details include:
A free weekly workshop to help participants build and refine their business ideas.
Held at 28 Taupo Quay, a fully accessible location, with free lunch provided at all sessions.
Starting Wednesday July 9th, 2025.
'This initiative is focused on enabling individuals with disabilities to overcome challenges and take control of their own economic futures.' says James Paul at Thrive Whanganui.

Thrive Whanganui, in partnership with Te Manu Atatū Māori Business Network, are excited to announce the return of our Puanga Pakihi Māori Showcase, scheduled to take place on Saturday June 21, 2025 from 9am – 1pm, at The Backhouse in Whanganui. This event celebrates Māori entrepreneurship and innovation and offers a unique platform for Māori businesses and artisans to showcase their pakihi. The Puanga Pakihi Māori Showcase will feature a vibrant array of stalls from arts and crafts, to food, services, and modern business ventures. Event Details: Date: Saturday June 21, 2025 Time: 9am – 1pm Location: 14 Drew's Ave, The Backhouse, Whanganui Highlights of the Event Include: Puanga Pakihi Māori Showcase: Explore a wide range of Māori businesses, artisans, and entrepreneurs showcasing their products, services, and talents.
