‘70s Rock Star, 78, Brings Fans Joy at the End of New ‘Superman' Movie
Moviegoers who watched the new Superman movie may have heard a familiar tune from Iggy Pop during the final scene of the film.
Iggy's voice projected through the stereo as his 2006 song with Teddybears, 'Punkrocker,' played as Clark Kent, portrayed by actor David Corenswet, adjusted to his new reality.
'You see me drivin' down the street, I'm just not looking good / I got both hands off the wheel, I got you runnin' / I'm listening to music you can't hear, I got pretty music in my ear,' Iggy, 78, whose real name is James Newell Osterberg Jr., sang.
The Teddybears debuted 'Punkrocker' in 2000 on their album Rock'n'Roll Highschool. The group re-released the song with Iggy six years later, which was featured on their album Soft Machine.
'Punkrocker' re-gained popularity amongst fans after they watched Superman. Some people ran to their mobile devices to find the music video on YouTube, and thanked the film's director and writer, James Gunn, for incorporating it in the remake of the DC film.
'Love it, thanks James Gunn, great ending song for Superman,' one fan wrote, as a second added, 'I'm here because of James Gunn's Superman. Unorthodox choice but I love that they used this song to close the movie.'
Meanwhile, Iggy received his flowers from die-hard fans.
'IGGY POP has a musical career that spans 5+ decades. He is a national treasure,' a separate person wrote.
Teddybears' bandmate Joakim Åhlund previously gushed that collaborating with Iggy on the song was a career high.
'Iggy Pop … it's pretty heavy. All those people are our heroes … we never would've dared to dream. It's all pretty amazing for us that we got the opportunity to work with such cool artists,' he said during an interview with Ion Magazine. 'But for me personally, I don't mean any disrespect to any of the others, but Iggy Pop … that's a proud moment for me.'

Cause confirmed in death of Caitlyn Jenner friend Sophia Hutchins
The cause of death has been revealed for Sophia Hutchins, Caitlyn Jenner's manager and close friend, who was killed in an ATV accident near the Olympian's Malibu, California, home earlier this month. The 29-year-old Lumasol sunscreen founder died July 2, due to 'multiple blunt force injuries,' according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner's online records. Her manner of death, which occurred on a cliff, was ruled accidental. At the time of publication, the Medical Examiner has listed the case status as 'open.' Hutchins, who appeared in 75-year-old Jenner's series 'I Am Cait,' was driving on a 'narrow canyon road' when The Malibu Times says Hutch hit the bumper of a moving car, whose driver and passenger were not injured. Hutchins' ATV was catapulted over the cliff and into a ravine roughly 350 feet below. TMZ previously reported that the crash took place on the road where Jenner lives. Hutchins in 2021 doubled down that she and Jenner, who she looked up to during her own transition, shared a truly 'familial' dynamic. 'Caitlyn is a parent to me,' she told People at the time. 'I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship.
