Pakistan, Turkiye call for immediate ceasefire in Gaza amid grave ‘humanitarian catastrophe'
The two leaders condemned Israel's ongoing atrocities in Gaza and expressed grave concern over the deepening humanitarian catastrophe, including starvation, forced displacement, and loss of innocent lives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) wrote on its X account.
They underscored the urgency of unimpeded humanitarian aid, an immediate ceasefire, and united international efforts for a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace.
Gaza civil defence says Israeli forces kill 28 people
Expressing unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause, they hoped for meaningful outcomes from the international conference on the implementation of the two-state solution, being held on Monday at the UN, MoFA said.
FM Dar will participate in the high level international conference at the UN on Palestine and implementation of the two-state solution today.
A day ago, he said his Saudi Arabian and French counterparts, Faisal bin Farhan and Jean-Noël Barrot respectively, had invited him to attend the event, officially titled the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution — being co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France from July 28 to 29.

'At the conference I will reaffirm Pakistan's longstanding, principled and consistent support for Palestine. We hope to achieve meaningful outcomes from the Conference, including concrete steps towards the establishment of a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al Sharif as its capital, alleviation of suffering of the people of Palestine, and reconstruction of war-torn Gaza with generous international support. Pakistan will continue to contribute to all these endeavours,' Dar wrote in a post on X.

He criticized the Sindh government for failing to act, accusing it of focusing on revenue collection through vehicle number plates while ignoring its basic duties. He demanded the government issue number plates free of cost, noting that citizens had already paid for them. He said the administration had lost its writ in Karachi, pointing to poor services, broken infrastructure, and lack of clean water and electricity. He also questioned the Pakistan Peoples Party's claims about building 800,000 houses for flood victims, calling for transparency and urging clarity on the K4 water project's funding shortfall. Photo: AFP Listen to article President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy visited a US-backed aid operation in Gaza on Friday, which the United Nations has partly blamed for deadly conditions in the enclave, saying he sought to get food and other aid to people there. Steve Witkoff visited a site run by the US and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in Rafah. Humanitarian organisations and many foreign governments have been strongly critical of the GHF, which began operations in late May. Hours after Witkoff's visit, Palestinian medics reported Israeli forces shot dead three Palestinians near one of the group's sites in the city on Gaza's southern edge. The Israeli military said it was still looking into the incident in which soldiers fired shots at as a "gathering of suspects" approaching its troops. The United Nations says more than 1,000 people have been killed trying to receive aid in Gaza since the GHF began operating, most of them shot by Israeli forces operating near GHF sites. The UN has declined to work with the GHF, which it says distributes aid in ways that are inherently dangerous. Crafting plan US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who travelled with Witkoff to Gaza on Friday, posted on X a picture showing hungry Gazans behind razor wire with a GHF poster displaying a big American flag and the words "100,000,000 meals delivered". Gaza: Israeli fire kills 22 more
GAZA CITY, Palestinian Territories: Gaza's civil defence agency said Israeli gunfire and air strikes killed at least 22 people on Friday, including eight who were waiting to collect food aid in the war-battered Palestinian territory. Civil defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal told AFP that five people were killed in a strike in the southern Gaza Strip, and four more when a vehicle was hit in the central area of Deir el-Balah. Bassal said Israeli forces killed five Palestinians who were trying to return to the Gaza City area, in the territory's north, after word had spread that troops had withdrawn from there. There was no comment from the Israeli military, which told AFP it could not confirm any of the incidents without specific coordinates for each of them. The civil defence agency reported deadly fire at Palestinians who were seeking humanitarian aid, in a territory where UN-backed experts have reported that 'famine is now unfolding'. Bassal said six people were killed by Israeli gunfire while waiting near northern Gaza's Zikim crossing, through which aid trucks have entered from Israel in recent weeks.
