Karl Stefanovic shows off dramatic weight loss at lavish event with The Real Housewives of Sydney star Krissy Marsh

Sky News AU25-06-2025
Karl Stefanovic has shown off his dramatic weight loss as he stepped out at a lavish event with The Real Housewives of Sydney star Krissy Marsh.
Marsh took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday to share a snap beaming beside the Today co-host at the Mental As Anyone book launch at Hemmesphere restaurant in the harbour city.
Stefanovic, 50, looked dapper, sporting a casual jacket and trousers, complemented by a white tee and trainers.
He offered a large grin and a peace sign beside Marsh, 43, who looked equally remarkable, wearing a figure-hugging brown dress and boots.
"Life is not black and white, so add colour!!!" the reality TV star wrote over the snap of the two stars.
Stefanovic's trimmed-down figure was noticeable and comes in part thanks to the veteran presenter's friend, Aussie billionaire James Packer.
Stefanovic last November opened up about his weight loss journey to The Kyle and Jackie O Show and said Packer urged him to hit the gym after seeing a photo of the Today host at the beach in 2019.
The snap, which made headlines at the time, showed the topless 50-year-old emerging from the water at Byron Bay on Christmas Day.
"There's a shot of me on Christmas Day or whatever coming out of the surf, and it was bad," Karl Stefanovic told co-hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson.
"James Packer sends me a note that says: 'Mate, you need to get your a**e to the gym'," he said.
"If you're getting notes from Packer about that, you know it's serious."
The journalist subsequently embarked on a 10-week weight loss challenge on the Today show in 2020, during which he lost 8 kilograms.
The feat saw Stefanovic drop from 105 kg to 97 kg, reported 9Now and The Advertiser.
"I started at 105kg, the heaviest I've ever been. It was incredibly embarrassing," Karl told obesity expert Dr Nick Fuller at the time.
Then, in January, Stefanovic looked noticeably slimmer again at his wife Jasmine's 41st birthday celebrations at Crown in Sydney, sparking speculation the TV star has maintained or further improved his fitness.
He beamed at the occasion for his wife of six years, with his outfit of beige trousers and a navy shirt showcasing his slimmed-down figure.
It comes as Stefanovic has not only demonstrated serious ambitions in lowering the scales but also in his professional career in recent weeks.
Earlier this month, he called for a 'proper investigation' into the recent shooting of Channel Nine's United States correspondent Lauren Tomasi with a rubber bullet as she covered the Los Angeles immigration protests.
Stefanovic said the incident had to be 'properly investigated', given that it was clear Tomasi was a reporter, as she was holding a microphone.
'I get that it's dangerous to cops, too. What's happened to them in the line of duty and the position they are in is horrendous,' he said.
'But how is it okay for your police force to be firing at unarmed Australian journalists?
Stefanovic is also reportedly vying for a new role at the Nine Network's latest top ratings hit, The Floor Australia.
Insiders at the network last month revealed the TV presenter wants to replace Australian actor Rodger Corser as host of the trivia game show.
The Floor sees contestants battle it out on topics such as Australian cuisine, famous characters, and gold medallists, which flash across large, coloured tiles on the ground.
The family-friendly show has proved popular with audiences, breaking records when it premiered on April 28 with a total national reach of 2.22 million viewers and has dominated the prime-time 7.30 pm slot since.

‘I saw them having dinners together': Royal butler Grant Harrold ‘debunks' Prince Harry's claims in Spare about Queen Camilla

Prince Harry's recollection of his relationship with Queen Camilla has been scrutinised by a former palace staffer who flatly denies the Duke of Sussex's version of events. Harry's palpable animosity towards his step mother was a major theme in his best-selling memoir Spare, in which the Duke paints Camilla as hellbent on becoming Queen. In Spare, Harry wrote that the future Queen leaked negative stories about him to the press to improve her own public image and alleged she 'sacrificed him on her personal PR alter'. 'Oddly enough I wanted Camilla to be happy. Maybe she was less dangerous when she was happy,' the Duke of Sussex wrote. Camilla became stepmother to Harry and his elder brother Prince William in 2005 after marrying then-Prince Charles and becoming the Duchess of Cornwall. But in Spare, Harry insisted he and William did not support the marriage and that they begged their father not to marry her. 'We support you, we said,' Harry recalled in Spare. 'We endorse Camilla, we said. ''Just please don't marry her. Just be together, Pa.' He didn't answer. But she answered straight away. 'Shortly after our private summits with her, she began to play the long game, a campaign aimed at marriage and eventually the Crown (with Pa's blessing, we presumed).' Former royal butler Grant Harrold worked for Charles, William and Harry during the time period covered in Spare and claimed he saw no signs of animosity between Harry and Camilla. 'The four of them, I promise you, got on so well,' he told The Telegraph newspaper on Monday to promote his memoir The Royal Butler. 'And that's why I don't understand what Harry's said, I really don't understand. Because I saw them. 'I saw them having dinners together, I saw them having drinks together, I saw them going to parties together.' Mr Harrold claimed that far from opposing their father's remarriage, Harry and William even decorated Charles and Camilla's wedding car. 'At the end of the festivities, Charles and Camilla were catching a flight to head straight to Birkhall (on the Balmoral estate in Scotland),' he writes in the book. 'We all went outside to wave them off and laughed as we saw William and Harry had decorated their car with 'Just Married'. 'As they drove off through the arches to cheers, the boys raced after the car.'

Sharon Stone doesn't understand why Basic Instinct is being remade

Sharon Stone doesn't see the point in a Basic Instinct reboot. The 67-year-old actress played crime novelist Catherine Tramell, who is implicated in a murder investigation spearheaded by Michael Douglas' Detective Nick Curran in the 1992 erotic thriller and she can't understand the recent news that original screenwriter Joe Eszterhaz is penning a new take on the story. Sharon - who reprised the role for a 2006 sequel - told Today: "If it goes the way the one that I was in went, I will just say, I don't know why you'd do it. "I mean, go ahead, but good f****** luck." It was revealed in July that the currently-untitled reboot was in the works, with Amazon MGM Studios' United Artists and Scott Stuber acquiring the rights to the project. Scott will also serve as producer along with UA's Nick Nesbit and Vault Entertaiment's Craig Baumgarten, while executive producer will be Vault's Adam Griffin. Sharon recently admitted she didn't think she received "respect" because of an infamous scene in Basic Instinct, in which she exposes her private area as she crosses her legs while being interrogated. She told Business Insider: "It made me an icon, but it didn't bring me respect. But would I do it again? We don't get to make these choices in life. I don't participate in the fantasy world in this way." Sharon alleged in her 2021 autobiography, The Beauty of Living Twice, that she was tricked into removing her underwear for the scene and hadn't seen the footage until a screening of the movie, but she now understands why director Paul Verhoeven was "scared" to show it to her. She said: "I very much believe that none of us knew at the time what we were getting in regard to that shot, and when Paul got it, he didn't want to lose it, and he was scared to show me. And I get that." And despite her initial unhappiness, Sharon was happy to keep the scene in the movie because she understood its value. She explained: "Once I had time to calm down, I didn't make him take it out of the movie when I had the legal right to. "So I did have the chance to do it differently, and I didn't because once I had the chance to step back, I understood, as the director, not the girl in the film, that that made the movie better. "What I did with what happened [in the interrogation scene] is exactly the way I wanted to do it. "Verhoeven and I have a wonderful relationship. I would work with him again in a second. We both understand. Even though we have different public ways of discussing it, we understand very well what happened regarding the crotch scene." Sharon previously claimed she first saw the scene as she watched the movie "with a room full of agents and lawyers". In an excerpt from her memoir, she said: "That was how I saw my vagina-shot for the first time, long after I'd been told, 'We can't see anything – I just need you to remove your panties, as the white is reflecting the light, so we know you have panties on.' 'Yes, there have been many points of view on this topic, but since I'm the one with the vagina, in question, let me say: The other points of view are b****** ... it was me and my parts up there." She also recalled slapping director Paul across the face before leaving and calling her lawyer Marty Singer to assess her options. But Paul insisted his memory of the time was "radically different". He told Variety: 'My memory is radically different from Sharon's memory. That does not stand in the way and has nothing to do with the wonderful way that she portrayed Catherine Tramell. She is absolutely phenomenal... but her version is impossible. She knew exactly what we were doing. 'I told her it was based on a story of a woman that I knew when I was a student who did the crossing of her legs without panties regularly at parties. When my friend told her we could see her vagina, she said, 'Of course, that's why I do it'. Then Sharon and I decided to do a similar sequence.'

Jelena Dokic pics melt hearts after tennis champ ‘hard launches' new relationship

Jelena Dokic is living her best life. The beloved former tennis player has jetted off on holiday with her new partner Yane Veselinov, weeks after hard launching their relationship last month. Posting a picture of her and Veselinov, Dokic wrote: 'You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place. So glad I found you.' Now the couple have taken the next step in their relationship, heading away to Bali together on a well deserved break. Dokic and Veselinov, a hospitality operations manager, were spotted at Denpasar Airport after touching down in Indonesia for a getaway. They were all smiles as they walked through the airport with their luggage, with Dokic even waving to someone she appeared to recognise. It's the first time the couple have been pictured publicly together and Dokic looked a picture of happiness, grinning from ear to ear as they embarked on their holiday. The 42-year-old later posted a photo on Instagram of a stunning Bali villa, and also shared a happy snap of herself looking very relaxed surrounded by trees. It was accompanied by a heartfelt caption featuring messages 'to the person I used to be', ' to the person I am today' and 'to the person I am becoming'. She wrote: 'You are rising and thriving. Keep going. Continue believing in yourself and never giving up. 'Keep working hard. Stay kind, soft and a good person with a good heart. ' Keep choosing peace, truth, kindness, empathy and compassion. Never allow anyone to take your smile and your worth away. You are enough.' The tennis star turned commentator previously dated Tin Bikic for 19 years before the relationship ended in 2022. Since their split, Dokic has rebuilt her life and career and has also opened up in depth about the torment she endured at the hands of her late father, Damir. The former world No. 4 tennis player survived physical and emotional abuse from her father along with cowardly online trolling over her appearance, to forge a successful career as a commentator and author. And her news of her relationship comes just weeks after she appeared on the Mental As Anyone podcast, the beloved tennis champion spoke about her love of children and the possibility of exploring adoption. 'I was in a relationship for almost 19 years from the age of 20 and right when we split up, we were about to start trying for a family. 'Maybe one day. One day will I adopt? Possibly. It's something I would love to do because I love kids.' It's been a busy few months for Dokic, who commentated on the French Open and Wimbledon before winning a Logie Award for the Best Factual or Documentary Program. Dokic's 'Unbreakable: The Jelena Dokic Story' feature was a popular winner, and the 42-year-old stole the show with an impromptu speech after saying she was in 'complete shock' that she won. The former Wimbledon quarter-finalist's big moment came just 76 days after the death of her estranged father Damir Dokic. The much-loved former world No. 4 tennis player survived physical and emotional abuse from her father and has been an inspiration for many as she manages her childhood trauma. It's one of the reasons her speech was so moving. 'I know you said 30 seconds but I will need at least 30 to gather myself,' she said. 'I'm actually in shock. I didn't think this was possible and I didn't have a speech prepared. 'I want to say a massive thank you to every single person who voted, not just the fans, but the industry. And not because of me. But because the hard stories and the difficult topics need to be told to create awareness. 'This is something that we did not even talk about 10 years ago. Now we have it in books and on screen. 'This is not about winning. This is about a win for victims and survivors, especially of domestic violence and mental health.' 'To every kid and person out there, I will say to every single girl and woman out there, never allow anyone to take your worth or happiness or smile away. 'Believe in your goals and dreams. I am standing here as someone who literally had that dream. I believed in it. I didn't give up on it. If I can do it you can do it too.' Speaking about fellow tennis great and Channel 9 co-host, Todd Woodbridge, was the moment that brought her emotions to breaking point. 'Lastly Todd Woodbridge, you're my person,' she said, holding back tears. 'I say that, and this makes me cry so much, because when I sat down at that table with you 11 years ago when I retired and you said to me that I can be a commentator and bring my story to life, I looked at you and I said to you 'I don't know who you are talking about but you are not talking about me.' 'I was a person who couldn't string two sentences together and had no skills. 'You believed in me professionally. I hope everyone finds a Todd like I did. 'You're a massive reason why I'm here, I'm standing here in every single way. 'I say if everyone can have a father and mentor like Todd they would be very fortunate.' In a speech that went well over the time allowed on the running sheet, Dokic also thanked figures behind the scenes of the production. 'You made this happen. We would not even have sat down at the table to talk about this possibility if it wasn't for you,' she said. Dokic has emerged as one of the most cherished figures in Australian sport in her advocacy for sufferers of abuse and mental health. The final message she shared about her father shows how raw the trauma of her abuse remains. 'My father passed away in the late hours on 16.05.2025,' she wrote. 'As you know my relationship with my father has been difficult and painful with a lot of history. 'Despite everything and no matter how hard, difficult and in the last 10 years even non-existent our relationship and communication was, it is never easy losing a parent and a father even one you are estranged from. 'The loss of an estranged parent comes with a difficult and complicated grief. 'It's an end of a chapter and life as I know it.'
