Justin Baldoni Drops Taylor Swift Extortion Claims, Blake Lively's Lawyers Respond
Justin Baldoni's legal team has dropped its subpoena against Taylor Swift, which previously claimed Blake Lively's team was trying to extort the music star.
The subpoena dropping was confirmed by a spokesperson for Lively (via TheWrap), with Lively's legal team saying they were 'pleased' that Baldoni's team stopped a 'harassing' probe into Swift and Lively's relationship.
'We supported the efforts of Taylor's team to quash these inappropriate subpoenas directed to her counsel and we will continue to stand up for any third party who is unjustly harassed or threatened in the process,' the spokesperson said.
'The Baldoni and Wayfarer team have tried to put Taylor Swift, a woman who has been an inspiration for tens of millions across the globe, at the center of this case since day one,' the statement continued. 'Exploiting Taylor Swift's celebrity was the original plan in Melissa Nathan's scenario planning document, and it continues to this day. Faced with having to justify themselves in federal court, they folded. At some point they will run out of distractions from the actual claims of sexual harassment and retaliation they are facing.'
In a letter filed in court last week (via THR) from Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman, Baldoni's team alleges that Michael Gottlieb, who is representing Lively, reached out to the legal firm that represents Swift, Venable.
According to the letter, Gottlieb 'demanded that Ms. Swift release a statement of support for Ms. Lively, intimating that, if Ms. Swift refused to do so, private text messages of a personal nature' would be released.
Freedman's letter went on to say that Swift's legal team responded to the request in at least one written message. The letter Freedman entered into court is looking to have those communications released, claiming that they prove that Lively's team is essentially trying to intimidate a witness in Baldoni and Lively's ongoing legal battle.
In response to the letter, Gottlieb said that the accusations are 'categorically false,' and that the use of anonymous sources is 'cowardly' from Freedman.

Blake Lively asks judge to block Justin Baldoni from obtaining Taylor Swift messages
Blake Lively filed a motion asking the court for a 'protective order' to block Justin Baldoni from accessing her text messages with Taylor Swift as their nasty legal battle rages on. The 'Age of Adeline' star filed documents to New York judge Lewis J. Liman, who has presided over the case thus far, on Friday, alleging that the director and his team's pursuit of her exchanges with the pop star are part of their long-planned 'tactic' to leverage the singer and her fans. According to documents obtained by Page Six, Lively claims that her communication with Swift is 'not central' to her complaint against the actor and are 'irrelevant' to his Wayfarer production company's claims. 'Throughout litigation, and particularly over the past month, the Wayfarer Parties have repeatedlyused Ms. Swift's name as part of their media strategy,' the letter reads. As Baldoni's team dropped their probe into Swift, 35, and Lively's friendship, claiming that they obtained the details they wanted, Lively's team claimed to the judge that a continued pursuit would be 'duplicative, cumulative, and unnecessary.' 'Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer parties are still demanding access to Taylor Swift's private communications—despite having already subpoenaed and then withdrawn that subpoena after they 'got all they needed,'' a spokesperson for Lively told Page Six of the new legal move. 'As reflected in today's filing, their intent to drag Taylor Swift into this was evident as far back as August 2024, when the crisis PR firm led by Melissa Nathan included her in their 'Scenario Planning' document and flagged the 'TS fanbase' as something to take 'extremely seriously.'' The statement closed: 'The ongoing attempts to once again try and use the world's biggest star as a PR tactic in this matter reflects a public unraveling of epic proportions—and serves only to distract from the fact that Justin Baldoni's lawsuits against Ms. Lively, Ryan Reynolds, their publicist, and the New York Times have been entirely dismissed.' Reps for Baldoni and Swift did not immediately respond to Page Six's requests for comment. The director, 41, initially dragged the pop star into his messy legal feud with Lively in January when he launched his $400 million countersuit against the 'A Simple Favor' star and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. His attorney Bryan Freedman alleged that Swift was at the scene of a significant meeting between the two co-stars. He also claimed that the 'Gossip Girl' alum, 37, weaponized her friendship with Swift in an attempt to take control of their film set. After hitting the 'Bad Blood' hitmaker with an official subpoena in May, Baldoni and his legal team dropped it and their probe into her friendship with the actress later that month. At the time, Lively's rep responded to the update, saying, 'We are pleased that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties have withdrawn their harassing subpoenas to Taylor Swift and her law firm.' 'We supported the efforts of Taylor's team to quash these inappropriate subpoenas directed to her counsel and we will continue to stand up for any third party who is unjustly harassed or threatened in the process.' In a shocking legal twist, the director's countersuit against the famous couple was thrown out by the New York judge on Monday — along with his $250 million libel lawsuit against the New York Times. In his reasoning, the magistrate wrote that the 'Jane the Virgin' alum and his Wayfarer Studios production company 'have not alleged that Lively is responsible for any statements other than the statements in her [California Civil Rights Department] complaint, which are privileged.' Baldoni's legal team has until June 23 to amend their claims for breach of implied covenant (suggesting that terms agreed upon in their legal agreement were violated) and tortious interference with contract (intentionally disrupting the relationship or contractual agreement between parties, potentially leading to significant financial damages and reputational harm). Despite the recent update, there's still a long way to go for the bitter feud. The trial date for Lively and Baldoni's case has been set for March 2026.

Thom Browne Resort 2026 Collection
The trend forecasters are predicting a prep revival. The all-American look, born of mid-century country clubs and popularized by 1980s movies, seems to be in the air again. A 17-year-old I know sets out each weekend to shop for vintage polo shirts, and Luca Guadagnino is filming a new version of the Bret Easton Ellis novel, American Psycho. That about synthesizes it. If prep does make a comeback on the runways in the coming weeks, it wouldn't surprise Thom Browne. 'I'm always in that world because I love the timelessness of it and the ease,' he says. 'I like the idea of real clothes being worn in real ways, and not clothing that's too precious. And talk about sustainability—you can wear these things forever.' Just don't call it a passing fad. The Thom Browne crests that appear on jackets and coats in his new collections for women and men paint a picture of the prep lifestyle. In their four quadrants are embroidered tennis racquets, a swimmer, an anchor, and 1965, the year Browne was born. Parts of the collections could find their way to country clubs and swimming pool parties, things like an exceptional handknit argyle cardigan, a neat rain jacket in a green technical cordura fabric, any of the bermuda shorts. The jeans, Browne was careful to point out, are made with selvedge denim in the best denim factory in Japan—the only people more obsessive about American style than Browne may be the Japanese; they even have a name for it, Amekaji. But even as he builds out the TB repertoire, Browne is as devoted to and meticulous about tailoring as ever, in particular the gray suit, but also his custom plaid tweeds and silk mogadors. Staying on theme, a gray skirt suit was topped by a maillot-shaped corset, and taking it to only-for-superfans extremes, other suits were intarsia'd or embroidered with trompe l'oeil effect bikinis. In other news, it's the 10th anniversary of the Hector bag, so you'll see many iterations of the dog-shaped bag here. The palladian window prints and embroideries are a nod to Browne's new project, the renovation of an 18th century house in upstate New York that is now underway.

To Look with Love
AG: Your work often revolves around the act of seeing and being seen. How do you understand this dynamic—especially in photography—where the camera can be both a tool of intimacy and of distance? JTD: The idea of seeing and being seen is a significant part of my work. There is immense power in letting yourself be fully seen by another person—it's a heightened form of intimacy. Through photography, I am able to make space for others to be seen as they are, which can be particularly important for queer and trans people, as we are not often represented in the mainstream. My photographs are also very personal and speak to the way I see myself and others. Harry and Janie, 2024 AG: In an era saturated with images, what does it mean for you to create portraits that invite slowness, presence, and reciprocity? JTD: With my work, I aim to slow down, both while photographing and in the exhibition space. When I'm making a portrait, I work slowly and collaboratively, creating a framework in which a real emotional exchange can take place between me and the subject. In the exhibition space, I invite viewers to spend time, take a long look, and reflect on their own identities and lives through the act of engaging in moments of intimacy with others.
