New York Man Goes Missing While On A Romantic Vacation In Turks and Caicos Islands With Wife

NDTV02-07-2025
Brian Tarrence, a 51-year-old Manhattan man, went missing in Turks and Caicos while on a romantic vacation with his wife. According to the New York Post, he was last seen on security footage leaving his rental property in Grace Bay, Providenciales, around 3:30 a.m. on June 25, heading towards the downtown area. According to private investigator Carl DeFazio, who was hired by Mr Tarrence's family, nothing unusual was reported in the days leading up to his disappearance. DeFazio mentioned that Mr Tarrence seemed fine before leaving the house, and it's unclear what happened after he walked into town.
"They seemed to be having a normal couple of days, and he ended up walking out of his condo, which is in a very safe place and the middle of Grace Bay Road. And we have him on camera, and he walks into town, and then he basically disappears, and we haven't heard from him since," investigator, Carl DeFazio, told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
Notably, Brian Tarrence and his wife of one year arrived in Turks and Caicos on June 22 for a vacation that was supposed to last until June 29. According to DeFazio, Mr Tarrence was wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers when he left the Airbnb, and he had his cellphone and wallet with him. The area is considered "very safe," which makes his disappearance even more puzzling. However, it's unclear why he left the rental property in the middle of the night while his wife was sleeping. DeFazio described the situation as "a little bizarre."
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force has listed Mr Tarrence as missing and is investigating the matter, with DeFazio working to obtain records of Tarrence's phone activity on the islands.
"So far, we haven't been successful in anything, but we're not giving up hope. … What I tell the family … in cases like this: Stay positive until you have a reason not to be. He's a smart guy. … We don't know what's in his mind or if he did this on his own or if somebody took him in," DeFazio, a former NYPD officer and Marine who has been a PI since the 1990s, said.
DeFazio added that he's "very proud of the response from the local businesses and people on vacation," many of whom have offered their assistance after missing persons flyers with Tarrance's face were distributed 'everywhere in Turks and Caicos."
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force is using all available resources to locate him. This includes deploying drones to scan the area and reviewing CCTV footage to track his movements on the night he disappeared. According to DeFazio, there's currently no indication of foul play, but all possibilities are being considered.
Mr Tarrence's wife is staying in Turks and Caicos to assist with the search efforts.

Paranormal Investigator Dan Rivera Dies At 54 While Touring With 'Haunted' Annabelle Doll

A 54-year-old paranormal investigator died suddenly while touring with the supposedly haunted Annabelle doll, his tour organisers said. According to the New York Post, Dan Rivera, a US Army veteran, was in Pennsylvania on his sold-out "Devils on the Run Tour" when the incident took place. He died on Sunday, shortly after finishing a three-day sellout stop in Gettysburg, hosted by "Ghostly Images of Gettysburg Tours" at the Soldiers National Orphanage, the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) said. According to the Post, Mr Riveria died unexpectedly after completing his tour, in which the group brought the allegedly haunted doll, Annabelle, across the country to various sites. Firefighters and medics were rushed to his hotel in Gettysburg on Sunday evening for a report of CPR in progress on a male patient. But by the time the medics reached the scene, Mr Rivera had died. The exact cause of the death remains unclear. According to the Evening Sun, coroner's office personnel said that the death did not appear suspicious, and that Rivera was found alone in his hotel room. An investigation is ongoing. Notably, Rivera was featured as a paranormal investigator on the Travel Channel's "Most Haunted Places" and served as producer for a number of other shows, including Netflix's "28 Days Haunted." As part of his tour, he was travelling around the US with other members of NESPR to show off the allegedly demonic doll. Annabelle has been tied to a series of supposed hauntings in the 1970s, after being given to a Connecticut nursing student named Donna. Ed and Lorraine Warren, the famous paranormal investigators, claimed the doll physically lifted its own arms, followed people around the apartment, and would display other frightening and malicious behaviour, per the Post. The couple also claimed that the doll had stabbed a police officer and caused a car crash involving a priest. It is believed that the doll has been inhabited by the spirit of a dead 6-year-old girl called Annabelle. Warrens said that it was demonically possessed and moved the doll to their museum in Connecticut. The demonic doll has inspired the movie 'The Conjuring'. Earlier this year, Annabelle was in the headlines after conspiracy theorists linked the doll to a prison breakout and devastating fire in Louisiana. However, experts later clarified that the doll was never "out of control".

Viral Video: Mother-daughter's brawl with young girl infuriates social media, ‘Just be ashamed of yourselves'

A viral video shows a fight on July 7 in Ridgewood, where a mother, daughter and a man attacked a student over a parking spot. The fight broke out outside 18-28 Putnam Ave in New York. Andreea Dumitru (45) and her daughter Sabrina Starman (21) clashed with 21-year-old Jada McPherson over a parking spot. An argument turned into a physical fight. Starman claimed McPherson started the name-calling and provoked them. The mother and daughter involved later apologised though they were arrested. However, McPherson is still upset about being attacked. She doesn't want to accept the apology. 'I don't accept the apology only because I feel like the apologies are only because of how much outreach the video is getting, and I don't think the apology is wholesome,' she told the New York Post. 'I don't think it's from their hearts, like deep down. But, I just hope they could see or see what they did wrong and kind of get a better understanding of how to operate or act in certain situations from this situation,' she added. The mother and the daughter have been getting online insults and even death threats after the video went viral. One anonymous message says, 'You ready to die?... Mark my words, I am going to murder ALL OF YOU.' That does not impress McPherson. She feels the death threats, especially against their son, are unnecessary. 'I just feel the violence, especially to [her] son, is completely unnecessary. He shouldn't be at fault for something that they did,' the Post quoted her as saying. Meanwhile, Dumitru said she had learned her lesson and would never repeat such a mistake. She added that she would not support such actions again and would avoid arguments over parking. 'You want the parking? Take it. It's not worth this. This is not worth it,' she said. Social media users reacted angrily to the viral brawl. One of them said, 'I thank God every day I don't live in this nasty city.' 'These people are unhinged and violently aggressive. The trans movement supports terrorism,' wrote another. 'New Yorkers are only ONLY generally concerned and sorry only when caught .. they have zero consideration for anyone others then themselves.. Sociopaths,' wrote one user. 'Just be ashamed of yourselves. You apologized - awesome. But, you did it and that speaks volumes,' wrote another.

"Human Skin" Teddy Bear Found On California Sidewalk Sparks Panic, It Turns Out To Be...

A creepy teddy bear that appeared to be made of human skin was found on a sidewalk in California, US, alarming both residents and the police. According to the New York Post, officials launched an investigation into the bizarre incident that unfolded on Sunday at a bus stop next to a gas station on Bear Valley Road. At the scene, authorities found a teddy bear sitting on the sidewalk. It featured an almost leathery, human-like skin that had been stretched and pinned to its body. The creepy teddy bear reportedly also featured a humanoid lip, nose and sockets where eyes would typically be. According to the Post, everything appeared to be stitched on almost surgically, like someone had removed a person's skin and turned it into a teddy bear. The bizarre doll sparked panic among residents and local authorities. However, after the investigation, officials found that the disturbing find was likely part of an elaborate prank. Investigators "determined this doll was made of a fabricated material and was not of human origin" before a forensic pathologist also "confirmed that the object was not human and contained no human tissue," as per the coroner's statement. "Our investigation found these dolls being sold on a website with the claim that the dolls are 'made of human skin,'" the coroner said, according to NCB News. A South Carolina artist later also identified the toy as one of his creations. In a Facebook post, Robert Kelly of Dark Seed Creations said that he made the bear and sold it via the e-commerce site Etsy to a buyer in Victorville. "Yes I made the bear in the news video. Yes that's my etsy shop screenshotted on [the] news articles. Yes I did ship that bear to an etsy customer in Victorville CA last week. Yes you can still order one too. No I did not have any knowledge of the buyers intentions nor was I involved in a prank on the other side of the nation from me," Mr Kelly wrote on Facebook. In an interview with NBC News, he also revealed that his products are made of latex and he is tinkered with all kinds of dyes to replicate the look of human skin. "We've put skin on everything from guitars and teddy bears to couches. We use latex live castings. So we take live castings of actual human models, which adds to the reality of the item," he added. Officials have removed the teddy bear from the site. It is unclear if police will continue investigating the matter after the creator's revelation.
