Sky Sports taking steps to protect pundit Roy Keane from fan abuse this season
It comes as the former Manchester United midfielder has been targeted by fans in recent years.
A 43-year-old Arsenal fan was convicted of headbutting Keane at a match at the Emirates Stadium in 2023.
Ipswich Town supporters also clashed with him at Portman Road last season.
Keane, 54, nevertheless, has renewed his contract as a pundit with the broadcaster and will be at Old Trafford for United's opening game of the season against Arsenal on Sunday.
Sky's chief sports officer Jonathan Licht said: 'It's our responsibility to make sure we don't expose any of our team to those sorts of incidents.
'He loves being part of the big games and we hope that will continue long into this deal.'
Keane will once again form part of Sky's Premier League coverage this season along with the likes of Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.
'Roy is a great guy, you want him on your team,' added Gary Hughes, director of football at Sky Sports.
'He's had a few incidents in the last couple of seasons, with Arsenal and Ipswich, and it does affect him.
'But ultimately he wants to be involved in the biggest games. He wants to be at Old Trafford for Manchester United against Arsenal.'

Liverpool will dedicate the front cover of its matchday programme for Friday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth to Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva. "The first Liverpool FC matchday programme of the 2025-26 Premier League season features a range of tributes in memory of Diogo Jota," Liverpool posted to its official website on Wednesday. "Friday's meeting with AFC Bournemouth is the first competitive fixture at Anfield since the tragic passing of the man who will forever be the club's number 20. "The front cover of this edition is dedicated to Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, who also died in the road traffic accident in July." The first programme of the 2025-26 Premier League season will also feature quotes from summer signing Milos Kerkez as he prepares to face off against his former team, along with the usual pre-match thoughts of Slot and captain Virgil van Dijk. However, the primary focus ahead of kick-off will be remembering Jota, just over six weeks on from his tragic death. Alongside a minute's silence, players will also don black armbands, whilst clubs will receive materials and visuals to showcase on their big screens. The Premier League has gone to great lengths to ensure that this will be the case for all 10 fixtures taking place this weekend, following talks with Liverpool to establish the most appropriate method of remembering the Portuguese international. On Sunday, tributes were offered to Jota and his brother before the Community Shield encounter between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at Wembley, where floral arrangements were placed on the turf and a period of silence was held before kick-off. Liverpool supporters had also displayed their respects with a rousing rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' as the wreaths were brought onto the pitch, unveiling a white banner showing 'Diogo J' alongside the forward's image and squad number 20. Just 24 hours before, Jota's former club, Wolves, paid its own touching tribute at Molineux ahead of the team's game against Celta Vigo, which included a floral wreath bearing Jota's name and number from his time at the club was created.

Manchester United match abandoned after midfielder suffers head injury
Manchester United Under-21s' National League Cup tie was abandoned after an injury to midfielder Sekou Kone. The fixture against National League side Tamworth was suspended after the 19-year-old Mali youth international went down after a clash of heads as he helped to defend a corner. He was treated on the pitch for around 15 minutes and after the half-time whistle had been blown, was carried off on a stretcher and it was later announced that the game had been abandoned with the score at 0-0. A statement from Manchester United read: 'The tie was halted due to a head injury suffered by Reds midfielder Sekou Kone, inside his own box, and the youngster was taken off on a stretcher. 'We can confirm Sekou is conscious, stable and communicating with United's medical team. 'He has been taken to hospital, as a precaution, for further checks. 'Everybody at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.' A statement on Tamworth's official X account said: 'Due to the medical situation, we are forced to abandon tonight's fixture, details will be revealed in due course. 'We would like to wish safe travels to all the Man United fans, staff and players. We especially wish Sekou Kone a speedy recovery.' Manchester United's senior side will travel to League Two Grimsby in the Carabao Cup second round after the draw was made on Tuesday night. The 2023 winners will head for Blundell Park during the week beginning August 25 after being paired with the Mariners in Wednesday night's draw, in which they were the last team team out of the hat.

What is your hottest take or boldest prediction for Sunderland's 2025/26 Premier League season? I think Eliezer Mayenda is going to be a bit of a force. I think he'll more than match the pace of the league and get some good numbers to solidify himself as a quality Premier League forward. If you were going to bet your life savings on something definitely happening to Sunderland in the 2025/26 season, what would it be? I can guarantee that the Stadium Of Light will become an absolute fortress and will be a difficult ground to come to. Other than your own, which team or player are you most excited to watch in the 2025/26 season? The player I'm excited about seeing in the Premier League this season is our former loanee Amad Diallo.
