Perambalur police personnel imparted training in digital fingerprint collection system
The training was meant for Station Writers and CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems) Constables serving in different police stations. The Digital Fingerprint Collection System devices had been provided to every police station in the district.
The ways of lifting fingerprints of accused through the digital system, its features and the ways of using the devices were explained to the participants during the training held at the District Police Office. The programme was organised under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Perambalur, Adarsh Pachera, a police press release said.

Bhubaneswar Police bust bike theft racket, five held in two cases
BHUBANESWAR: City police on Saturday arrested five persons in two separate cases of bike-theft and seized 15 stolen two-wheelers from them. While Badagada police nabbed four persons and seized 11 two-wheelers, Bharatpur police apprehended one anti-social and recovered four two-wheelers from him. Police commissioner S Dev Datta Singh told the mediapersons that in Bharatpur case, three of the four accused persons worked as driver, conductor and helper in private buses. After their duty hours, they used to steal two-wheelers from various places in the capital city. They then sold the stolen vehicles at either lower prices or dismantled them at different garages here and disposed of the parts. Singh also informed that as per various parameters, performance of two police stations in the Twin City was found to be the best among all the police stations in the state between January and July this year. 'State Crime Records Bureau assessed various parameters on Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems and found out that Bayalish Mouza police station in Cuttack was the best performing police station, followed by Badagada police station in Bhubaneswar in the last seven months,' said Singh.

Channel's ex-HR head accessed police crime database, got password from cop
Noida: A former human resources head of a private news channel and a head constable were arrested for allegedly breaching UP Police's crime tracking network and selling confidential information. The accused, Lalit Pandit of Greater Noida and head constable Prashant Solanki of Baghpat, were detained on Friday and arrested on Saturday. Police say Solanki provided Pandit with login credentials for the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) — a centralised database of case files, criminal histories, confidential FIRs and other sensitive information — which Pandit then used to monitor police activities and leak data for money. Currently, he is posted at Khair police station in Aligarh. He is suspected of sharing his CCTNS credentials with Pandit while posted at Kasna police station earlier this year. The breach came to light after Pandit allegedly posted sensitive Pocso case data on social media—an offence that prompted his detention. Police said they were now examining the duration and extent of the breach, as well as identifying the possible buyers of the leaked information. TG half-yearly crime review meeting: DGP calls for tougher crackdown on gangs and drug offences
Telangana Director General of Police Jitender stressed the need for focused and sustained action against organised criminal gangs and drug-related offences across the State. Addressing the concluding session of the first half-yearly crime review meeting held at the DGP's office in Hyderabad on Thursday (August 7), he called on commissioners and superintendents of police to ramp up legal action and surveillance on gang activity in their respective jurisdictions. The meeting was coordinated by CID Additional DGP Charu Sinha and saw the participation of senior officers including TGPA Director Abhilasha Bisht, DG Prisons Soumya Mishra, and Additional DGPs Mahesh M. Bhagwat, V. V. Srinivasa Rao, Swati Lakra, Anil Kumar, Sanjay Kumar Jain, and Stephen Ravindra. Mr. Jitender pointed out that several gang-linked offenders have been serving prison sentences for more than two decades. He said strict provisions under existing laws give officers enough scope to take decisive action. He also directed the force to increase efforts to tackle drug supply networks and rising drug abuse, warning that the trend is endangering youth in the State. He instructed officers to trace the source of seized substances, which are frequently smuggled in from other States. EAGLE Director Sandeep Shandilya informed the gathering about recent arrests of Nigerian nationals involved in trafficking drugs. Drug Control Director Shahnawaz Qasim urged district police units to cooperate closely with drug control authorities, particularly in tackling counterfeit medicines. CID DIG Narayana Naik gave an overview of the new legal provisions. Legal Advisor Ajay Kumar flagged common investigation gaps. Additional DGP (Law & Order) Mahesh M. Bhagwat recommended focused enforcement against gangs such as Cheddi, Bhaveria, and Pardi. He also advised using the PD Act in cases involving fake seeds. Senior officials including Rachakonda Commissioner Sudheer Babu, Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, Multi-Zone IGPs Chandrasekhar Reddy and Tafseer Iqbal, along with IGPs M. Ramesh, Ramesh Naidu, M. Srinivasulu, and all other commissioners and SPs also attended the review meet.
