Steelers fans fume over Aaron Rodgers signing: ‘He sucks'

Four MVPs, 10 Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl ring be damned – some Steelers fans are furious over the arrival of Aaron Rodgers. Pittsburgh's signing of Rodgers has received a mixed bag of reviews in the Steel City, with many fans voicing their frustrations over the move. Concerns have ranged from the quarterback's age (41), to the short-term nature of his one-year, $13.6 million contract, to his anti-vaccination beliefs. 'No, not optimistic at all,' lifelong Steelers fan Ron Stadler, Jr. told USA TODAY's Jarrett Bell. 'I wish he'd have retired already. He sucks.' Getty Images The most viral example of the frustration came from one fan on social media, who filmed himself burning his autographed Minkah Fitzpatrick jersey while declaring he would 'never be a Steelers fan again.' 'Yinz decide to pick up Aaron Rodgers, I can't do this anymore,' said the fan, @greencheckdegen on TikTok. 'You keep killing us.' The fan went on to reference the Steelers trading star wideout George Pickens and losing Justin Fields in free agency as further reasons for his departure from the fanbase. Veteran defensive lineman Cam Heyward took to X to respond to the fan. 'First off, why Minkah's jersey? That's bonkers. Second, why burn when there are plenty of people that need clothes,' Heyward wrote. 'Third, you are going to regret it!!' Other reactions to the news were less extreme, but the sentiment remains: a large faction of Pittsburgh's fanbase is less than pleased with the signing. 'This feels cheap and desperate,' wrote one fan on X. 'This is not a Pittsburgh Steeler.' Another posted: 'I hope he fails the physical. I am not a fan of this decision.' Aaron Rodgers signed a one-year, $13.6 million contract with the Steelers. AP Many of the replies under the Steelers' announcement of Rodgers' signing carried a similar tone, mixed in with a smattering of more positive responses. Last season, Rodgers passed for 28 touchdowns and 3,897 yards with the Jets, who cut him after the season. Rodgers will have his first chance to prove the doubters wrong when the Steelers take on those same Jets — and Fields — in Week 1 at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 7.

Comedian Jefferies set to host new FOX show before tour stops in Hawaii

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A new show on FOX is putting master manipulators to the test. 'The Snake' will feature 15 contestants leveraging their unique skills and relying on their powers of persuasion. Throughout the game, a 'snake' will be chosen to juggle the fate of their fellow competitors, all while trying to compete for the grand prize of $100,000. Kev Herrera Brings His Raw and Relatable Comedy to Blue Note Hawaii World-famous comedian and show host Jim Jefferies tells us 'The Snake' will have a familiar 'survival of the fittest' theme, but with a twist. 'There's no backstabbing you in this game, people are stabbing you in your front,' Jefferies said. 'What makes this show different from other shows is once you win the challenge, you get to become the snake, you get a snake medallion, the most coveted character in the game, and then we have a saving ceremony, not an elimination ceremony where the snake decides who they're going to save first. Then that person decides to save another person, and that person decides to save another person until we get down to the final two players, and the snake decides who gets to live and who goes home.'Jefferies is coming to the islands this summer for a pair of stand-up comedy shows, starting July 25 at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, followed by a show at the Blaisdell Concert Hall on July 26. 'I've been writing this show for a very long time, it's good to go. I will say this about the Hawaii shows, these are the only shows in the world that I request to do every year,' Jefferies said. Check out more news from around Hawaii 'The Snake' premieres on KHON2 Tuesday night at 8:00 Hawaii Time. Tickets for his Son of a Carpenter tour can be found here. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. There's only one Jordon Hudson confidant willing to talk about her — here's what he said

There have been many descriptors added to Jordon Hudson's name over the past 12 months as her relationship with Bill Belichick has come under intense scrutiny. For the lone Hudson confidant who has spoken publicly about the former college cheerleader, one label transcends new heights. 'I consider her a supernova,' celebrity hairstylist Dougie Freeman, who likened his one-time employee to the phenomenon described by NASA as the 'extremely bright, super powerful explosion of a star,' said in a new interview with The Athletic. Getty Images for the American Museum of Natural History 'Our motto here at the salon is, 'Let us help you use what you've got to get what you want' … and maybe Jordon Hudson is a good example of that.' Advertisement Hudson, who shot to fame in the summer of 2024 when her romance with the 73-year-old Belichick became public, began working at Freeman's West End Salon & Spa in Provincetown, Mass., when she was still in high school. 5 Dougie Freeman worked with Jordon Hudson. Facebook/West End Salon and Spa Freeman believes the Massachusetts town, regarded as one of the most welcoming and friendly LGBTQ+ locales in the country, helped to broaden Hudson's horizons. 'Growing up in this town, she saw how alternative relationships work. They can work,' Freeman said. 'I think that validated it for her.' Advertisement Freeman is one of the few connected to Hudson who has opened up about the Miss Maine USA contestant, with The Athletic noting the 'dozen-plus friends of Hudson' whom they reached out to did not get back to the outlet. 5 Jordon Hudson's profile has continued to rise amid her relationship with Bill Belichick. WireImage 'She seems to be doing fine,' said Freeman, who 'last spoke to Hudson via a series of internet DMs,' per The Athletic. 'She said, 'I understand you're going to do an interview with the Washington Post.' And I said, 'I said a lot of nice things about you, I think you'll be pleased with it.' And I assume she was.' Advertisement Hudson has been by Belichick's side as he prepares for his first season coaching North Carolina's football team. 5 Bill Belichick with Jordon Hudson in March 2025. Getty Images Although there has been much speculation about Hudson's role in Chapel Hill — much of which began after a disastrous 'CBS Sunday Morning' appearance in April, when she punted a question about the origins of the Belichick relationship — the eight-time Super Bowl winner clarified her position in an ESPN interview last month. 'That's really off to the side, it's a personal relationship. She doesn't have anything to do with UNC football,' Belichick said. With the Tar Heels' season opener against TCU approaching on Sept. 1, all eyes remain on Belichick and Hudson — something Freeman cautioned as her star continues to rise. 'Fame comes with some barbs,' he said. 'And it doesn't always come with fortune.' Hudson and Belichick first crossed paths aboard a flight in 2021. They celebrated their four-year meet-iversary in February.
