PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man was sentenced to prison Friday after he was while high on psychedelic mushrooms in 2023.
Fullington William Frazer III, 23, sped through a red light in his Dodge Caliber at 60 miles per hour before colliding with two cars on Dec. 30, 2023, according to the jury's verdict.

Frazer was convicted of first-degree manslaughter, DUII, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and fourth-degree assault. He will spend nearly seven years in prison, followed by at least six years of post-prison supervision. His license will also be suspended for several years.
Frazer had been giving his roommate, Mitchell Scott Barr, a ride to the grocery store in Milwaukie when the crash happened near the intersection of SE Freeman Way and Highway 224 just before 8 p.m. He struck a Subaru Forester and a Toyota Prius.
Barr, 24, was ejected from Frazer's car and died. The driver of the Subaru, Fleetwood Mars Mozee, 37, was also killed in the crash. The driver and the passenger in the Prius were both injured.
Prosecutors said Frazer exhibited strange behavior after the crash. At one point, when he was asked if he needed medical attention, Frazer responded, 'I just want the love.'
Frazer was taken to the Oregon Health and Science University hospital and said during an interview with an Oregon State Police trooper that he did not remember having a passenger in his car. After being told two people died in the crash, Frazer reportedly said, 'Are they okay?'

Frazer had psilocybin mushrooms in his system, a toxicology test confirmed.
An Oregon State Police trooper who responded to the scene called it 'one of the most destructive crashes he'd ever seen,' said Clackamas County Deputy District Attorney Chelsea Jones in her closing argument.
At the time of the crash, Frazer was on probation for a 2021 public indecency conviction. He had previously been involved in a high-speed crash in Portland in March of 2023 and was the only person injured in that incident, court records show.

Man killed, woman seriously injured in two-vehicle crash in Fresno County, CHP says

One person was killed Thursday morning, another seriously injured in a Fresno County crash. The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of Buttonwillow and American avenues, near Reedley, in the CHP Kings River Resident Port area. A 64-year-old woman from Reedley was driving a Toyota Prius northbound on American when she entered the intersection to make a left turn onto southbound Buttonwillow. A 28-year-old man from Exeter was driving a Honda Accord westbound on Buttonwillow, which has no traffic controls at the intersection. CHP spokesperson Mike Salas said the Toyota entered the intersection in front of the Honda. In an attempt to avoid the collision, the driver of the Honda braked and steered left, but the front of the Toyota collided with the front of the Honda, causing major damage to both vehicles. Both vehicles came to rest on the northwest side of the intersection. The driver of the Honda Accord was pronounced dead. Officers determined the driver was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Toyota sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors in the collision, Salas said. The investigation is ongoing.

(KOIN) – A Salem man was sentenced to prison on Wednesday after leading an illegal operation that manufactured and sold drug-infused cereal and candy, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon announced. Authorities said 45-year-old Jered Hayward was sentenced to 13 years in prison after previously pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana and conspiracy to launder the proceeds. Class action lawsuit accuses Grocery Outlet of deceptive pricing in Oregon stores As part of the operation, Hayward and his employees infused or sprayed cereal and candy with potent THC oils. The edibles were then placed in packages that looked similar to legitimate food products — marketing them as Cinnamon Toast Crunch Krispie Bars, Froot Loops Krispie Bars and Cocoa Puffs Krispie Bars among other popular cereal brands — and sold them in the United States and internationally. Authorities said while there is no evidence that Hayward marketed the products toward minors, officials said the way the edibles were packaged posed a risk to children who are often unable to comprehend fine print warnings on THC products. Drug trafficker sentenced to 15 years in prison after largest meth bust in Oregon history According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon, the organization used encrypted communications such as Telegram to market and sell orders while masking money laundering transactions. Authorities say Hayward had no permits or licenses to produce or sell the products, noting the entire operation was illegal. Hayward has an extensive criminal history, including three prior state and federal convictions for marijuana and fentanyl trafficking, officials said, adding that based on those convictions, he is considered a career criminal under federal law. As part of his guilty plea, Hayward agreed to forfeit his Salem production facility, over $1 million in cash, $640,000 in cryptocurrency and bank account funds, more than $400,000 worth of gold and silver, jewelry, a Rolex watch, 12 vehicles, two UTV's and boats.
