Bryan Mbeumo excited to follow in Ronaldo's footsteps at ‘biggest club' Man Utd
Mbeumo has signed a deal until 2030, with the option of a further season, at what he calls the 'club of my dreams' – one whose shirt he wore as a kid growing up in France.
'From the start I wanted to join this club, this massive club, and now I'm here and I'm just really happy,' the Cameroon international told club media.
'For me, it's the biggest club in the world, in England as well. I think the fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and I think every player wants to play here.
'I think my first top was a Manchester United top with Ronaldo behind. It's just such a big club and, yeah, I'm really happy to be here.'
Mbeumo says he idolised Ronaldo and Lionel Messi growing up, as well as admiring Neymar and Eden Hazard, and joins Matheus Cunha in bolstering what has been a blunt United attack.

The forward says the Brazil international will 'bring something new' to a team that he is excited to get to know better when they head to the United States for their pre-season tour on Tuesday.
'I think it's really important for me joining a new club,' Mbeumo said. 'It's important to create links as soon as possible, automatism as well with the team-mates, so in and out the pitch.
'The spirit is really important. Yeah, create a group, being involved as soon as possible, for me, it's something really important.'

Mbeumo links up with United after scoring 20 Premier League goals for Brentford under Thomas Frank, who has since moved on to Tottenham and is someone he sees similarly to new boss Ruben Amorim.
'I think they have similar values,' he said. 'He seems really close to his players and his mentality, his winning thinking every time. This is a thing that I need.
'It seems to be a really good group. I think the spirit is really important for winning and, yeah, with the gaffer I heard only good things about the team.'

Now, reports from German outlet Bild report that he has held initial conversations about a possible return to Dortmund. Sancho already enjoyed a successful return to the Bundesliga side on loan for the second part of the 2023-24 season, where he scored three times and led the team to the Champions League final. And another season at Signal Iduna Park could now be on the cards, with Sancho said to be pushing for the move. The report adds that Sancho is willing to take a huge pay cut in order to seal his return to Dortmund and would even consider dropping his current £275,000-a-week salary by half. Sancho is believed to have spoken with Dortmund chiefs Lars Ricken and Sebastian Kehl in the hopes of sealing the transfer and ending his exile at Old Trafford. Sancho is one of five players who were left out of United's pre-season tour of the United States, joining Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Marcus Rashford - who has since signed for Barcelona on loan. Amorim said the thinking behind excluding the group of players was to give them more time to think about their futures and said they would link up with the squad if they did not find new clubs. "We are just allowing these players to have time to think and to decide," he said. "If we reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join because they are our players. I know Jason, Omar and the club have a number for these players."

Iurie Iovu strike makes sure of Dundee United's progression in Conference League

However, in the 64th minute unmarked Moldova international Iovu alleviated any concerns when he headed in Sapsford's free-kick from close range for his first United goal since signing this summer from NK Istra 1961 to clinch a place in the next qualifying round with a 1-0 win, albeit considerable improvement is required. Much was made of the fact that the United side last week did not contain a Scottish player at kick-off. For the return game Goodwin drafted in Scot Craig Sibbald and Panutche Camara for Isaac Pappoe and Ryan Strain. The unchanged home side had their fair share of opportunities in the first half, starting in the ninth minute when Dundee United goalkeeper Yevhenii Kucherenko had to save a powerful drive from Eric Brandenburger before Daryl Myre thrashed the rebound over the bar. United responded with a series of sprightly attacks and in the 16th minute Sapsford mishit a cross from Bert Esselink just eight yards out and the ball flew over. At the other end, UNA Strassen's Edis Agovic got the break of ball 25 yards out and sent a drive wide of the target. In the 36th minute the visitors carved out a good chance when Sibbald played in Ivan Dolcek but his powerful drive was parried by home keeper Koray Ozcan.
