Photo: Aaron Pico looks absolutely shredded ahead of UFC debut
Aaron Pico is looking all-time swole ahead of his long-awaited, much-anticipated UFC debut.
Perhaps it's the lighting, but I doubt it. Like, name a more vascular-looking human than the one pictured below.
Pico (13-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has always been in tremendous shape, but perhaps never better than right now, per a photo posted to his Instagram story Saturday.
The image, which went viral Monday, had every anonymous X user and troll hurling not-so-nice things toward Pico. Accusations of nefarious behaviors and comparisons to Michael Chandler flooded the comments. There seemed to be many more couch potato, armchair quarterbacks weighing in than concerned citizens, as is the case with most things on social media in 2025, of course.
It should be noted that while Pico competed in Bellator for his entire pro MMA career up until now, he has been drug tested and has never had an issue. A staple of Bellator cards in his native California, Pico was subject to various California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) drug tests. Thus far, under UFC anti-doping (CSAD), he's been tested once.
Pico, 28, will look to show that he has the abilities to match his appearance when he's thrown right into the featherweight mix July 26 vs. Movsar Evloev (19-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) in Abu Dhabi.

Felipe Lima reveals ranked opponent withdrew from UFC 317, hopes Payton Talbott fight gets him similar opportunity
It might seem like a short-notice fight from the outside, but Felipe Lima knew about UFC 317 long before Payton Talbott entered his equation. Lima (14-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) will kick off Saturday's UFC 317 main card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but Talbott (9-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) wasn't his original foe. "They called us, I was already in camp, I knew I was going to fight," Lima recently told MMA Junkie. "They called me five weeks ago. They called, and I don't know if I can say, but I will say anyway, (to fight) Jonathan Martinez. He unfortunately got injured, and then we had some trouble finding another opponent. I was on the card five weeks ago. I was training. I was in camp." Lima is just excited to reenter the cage and continue the hot streak that's rolled on for his entire career, with the exception of the loss he turned in during his pro debut in 2015. Lima was one of the promotion's breakthrough performers in 2024, going 2-0 against Muhammad Naimov and Miles Johns after signing with the promotion as the OKTAGON bantamweight champion. "Since the beginning of my career, I never said no to anybody," Lima said. "We said yes to anyone, any time. That's just the way it is. I'm just fighting for my dream. I'm never going to deny a fight. If they offer, I'm going to say yes. All the fights they've been offering us, we've said yes to everybody. That's the way it's going to be – always." Shortly after the Johns fight in December, Lima suffered a broken foot. He needed to take a couple months off from training, but a summer fight was always the plan. He just didn't know it'd come against a fast-rising star like Talbott, nor on the pay-per-view portion of the UFC's International Fight Week card. "They're going to see that. The UFC is giving me the opportunity for the fight. I'm going to show Saturday night why I'm worthy and why I'm here. I'm here to stay and I can't wait." As a spectator, it's fun times in the UFC bantamweight division. Lima feels the same enthusiasm as a competitor, watching champion Merab Dvalishvili and others raise the bar. It's motivating – and has helped Lima set goals. "The division is packed," Lima said. "They have very good names and good fighters, as well. Merab is doing a good job as a champ. Well, you guys are going to see me. It depends on how the opportunity goes, if they give me a ranked guy, that's the way it is. It's not easy to get a fight in the rankings. Hopefully after this fight, they give me a ranked guy. That's probably one year when you're going to be seeing me in the top 10."

(Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) The UFC 317 pay-per-view fight card is on the horizon. The event, which features two title fights at the top of the card, takes place on Saturday, June 28, from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, in the co-main event, UFC flyweight kingpin Alexandre Pantoja puts his title on the line against Kai Kara-France. UFC 317 serves as the anchor event for the 2025 edition of International Fight Week. The five-fight UFC 317 PPV card streams on ESPN+ pay-per-view, following ESPN prelims and ESPN+ early prelims. UFC 317 Fight Card Early Preliminary Card Sedriques Dumas vs. Jackson McVey - Middleweight Jhonta Diniz vs. Alvin Hines - Heavyweight Niko Price vs. Jacobe Smith - Welterweight UFC 316 Fight Card: Early Prelims Odds And Predictions - Sedriques Dumas vs. Jackson McVey MIAMI, FL - APRIL 12: Sedriques Dumas and Michal Oleksiejczuk meet in the octagon for a 3-round bout ... That fight pits Sedriques Dumas against UFC newcomer Jackson McVey in a middleweight matchup. Dumas (10-3) has been in the news for all the wrong reasons since his last fight, a UFC 314 knockout loss to Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 314. Since then, Dumas was arrested and charged with home invasion, domestic battery, possession of weapon by convicted felon among other charges. McVey (6-0) comes to the UFC with six pro fights and six finishes. His most recent bout was a first-round knockout under the LFA banner. Each of McVey's finishes has come in the first round. Dumas opened as a -150 betting favorite over the +130 McVey. The odds have flipped. Today, McVey is the -154 favorite over the +134 Dumas. The betting pick is McVey to win via knockout. UFC 316 Fight Card: Early Prelims Odds And Predictions - Jhonta Diniz vs. Alvin Hines NEW YORK, NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 16: (L-R) Marcin Tybura of Poland punches Jhonata Diniz of Brazil in a ... More middleweight fight during the UFC 309 event at Madison Square Garden on November 16, 2024 in New York City. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC) In this matchup we have a heavyweight coming off his first pro loss (via a doctor stoppage) in Jhonta Diniz (8-1) against a heavyweight who has a perfect record in Alvin Hines (7-0), who is also making his UFC debut. Diniz is 2-1 in the UFC. Diniz opened as a massive betting favorite at -850, while Hines was listed at +600. Those odds have moved a great deal. Today, Diniz is -299 to Hines's +249. Hines is a short-notice replacement for Justin Tafa. Diniz is not great on the mat, but he is a good striker with seven knockouts. Hines has grappling chops, but his striking can be sloppy, and that makes this fight dangerous for him. The betting pick is for Diniz to win via knockout, but there is a chance that Hines could grind out a decision if he can get the fight to the mat. UFC 317 Fight Card: Early Prelims Odds And Predictions - Niko Price vs. Jacobe Smith LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JANUARY 11: Jacobe Smith reacts after a knockout victory against Preston Parsons ... (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC via Getty Images) Opening the UFC 317 early prelims is a welterweight bout between Niko Price (16-8) and Jacobe Smith (10-0). Price, one of the more entertaining fighters on the UFC roster is 1-3 in his past four fights. Smith is 1-0 in the UFC with a first round knockout win in his promotional debut in January. Eight is Smith's wins have come by knockout. Smith opened as an enormous favorite at -1600, while Price was +900. Smith is an even bigger favorite now at -1800. Meanwhile Price has remained at +900. The betting pick is for Smith to use his power to score a knockout win over the fading Price. However, the odds are so lopsided a Price win might be worth taking a small shot. UFC 317 Pay-Per-View Fight Card Ilia Topuria vs. Charles Oliveira - For vacant UFC lightweight title Alexandre Pantoja vs. Kai Kara-France - For Pantoja's UFC flyweight title Brandon Royval vs. Joshua Van - Flyweight Beneil Dariush vs. Renato Moicano - Lightweight Payton Talbott vs. Felipe Lima - Bantamweight UFC 317 Fight Card Preliminary Card Jack Hermansson vs. Gregory Rodrigues - Middleweight Hyder Amil vs. Jose Miguel Delgado - Featherweight Viviane Araujo vs. Tracy Cortez - Strawweight Terrance McKinney vs. Viacheslav Borshchev - Lightweight UFC 317 Fight Card Main Event: Ilia Topuria Vs. More the UFC featherweight championship fight during the UFC 308 event at Etihad Arena on October 26, 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC) Ilia Topuria (16-0) is a former Cage Warriors champion. He joined the UFC in 2020 with a 9-0 record. It did not take him long to make a name for himself. He was ranked No. 14 in the featherweight division after three UFC bouts at 145 pounds and one contest in the 155-pound division. Three of those scraps ended with Topuria winning via knockout. In his first fight as a ranked featherweight, Topuria dispatched Bryce Mitchell via submission in the second round, earned his first 'Performance of the Night' bonus and moved to No. 9 in the rankings. A matchup with No. 5 ranked Josh Emmett followed the Mitchell win. Topuria picked up a decision in a 'Fight of the Night' scrap. Topuria's next fight, saw him face Alexander Volkanovski for the UFC featherweight title at UFC 298. Topuria entered that bout as the No. 3 ranked featherweight. He left as the champion after knocking out Volkanovski in the second stanza. In his first defense of the UFC featherweight crown, Topuria made history, becoming the first fighter to finish former 145-pound champion Max Holloway via strikes, knocking out the ex-champion in the third round of their UFC 308 meeting in October 2024. When Topuria decided to move to lightweight and give up his featherweight title, he vowed to sit until he got a 155-pound title shot. That fight takes place at UFC 317. Topuria has a 16-0 record with eight of those wins coming under the UFC banner. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - APRIL 13: Charles Oliveira of Brazil looks on against Arman Tsarukyan in their ... More lightweight fight at T-Mobile Arena on April 13, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by) Charles Oliveira (35-10-0-1) has been fighting with the UFC since 2010. He won the vacant lightweight title with his win over Chandler and defended the title once, beating Dustin Poirier. He was booked to face Justin Gaethje in his second title defense, but Oliveira missed weight for that fight, which he won by submission, losing the title on the scale. Oliveira had a chance to regain the belt in October 2022, but Islam Makhachev submitted him and claimed the vacant belt. Since that loss, Oliveira is 1-1, beating Beneil Dariush by TKO in June 2023 and losing to Arman Tsarukyan via split decision in April of this year. Oliveira is coming off a November 2024 decision win over Michael Chandler. Oliveira is the No. 2 fighter in the official UFC lightweight rankings. We will have more on UFC 317 as fight night approaches, including odds, picks and predictions for the prelims and main card. Also, look for UFC 317 results and reactions on fight night.

Dana White reacts to Ilia Topuria's desire to chase Islam Makhachev to welterweight
Dana White was asked about Ilia Topuria's ambitious goal of chasing a third UFC title. Topuria (16-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC) meets Charles Oliveira (35-10 MMA, 23-10 UFC) for the vacant lightweight title in Saturday's UFC 317 (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. When Topuria vacated his UFC featherweight title, he was hoping to challenge Islam Makhachev (27-1 MMA, 16-1 UFC) for the lightweight belt. However, when Makhachev relinquished his 155-pound title for his own move up a division, the fight was no longer a possibility. "If Islam becomes the world welterweight champion, for sure I'm going to push for that shot and I will move to the welterweight division," Topuria said Friday at a media scrum ahead of an open workout in Las Vegas. White wants Topuria to slow his role, but he didn't entirely rule out the possibility of the matchup happening. "Listen, we'll see how this thing plays out," White said during the UFC on ABC 8 post-fight press conference. "He just moved up. We're already talking about him going to 170? I mean, he just moved up. Let's see how he does in this fight, and we'll see how Islam does. They definitely want to fight each other." Makhachev is expected to challenge UFC welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena later in the year.
