Kannada cinema's charming star
Diganth Manchale
is back, this time in a quirky black comedy titled 'Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana' (translated as The Reason for the Left-Handed Accident).
Directed by Samarth B Kadkol, the film blends murder, mystery, and humour in a plot where nothing—and no one—is what they seem.
The newly released trailer hints at a refreshingly quirky storyline that centers on four murders and a mysterious accident — all somehow connected to the main character's unusual struggle of being left-handed in a world designed for right-handers.
Diganth as Lohit Rajesh: A leftie caught in chaos
Diganth steps into the role of Lohit Rajesh, a techie who kicks off the trailer with an odd but attention-grabbing revelation — he's involved in four murders and one accident.
But according to him, none of it is really his fault. His explanation? Being left-handed in a right-handed world naturally leads to 'accidents.'
It's a strange premise, but one that instantly sets the tone for a film packed with oddball humour, unexpected twists, and plenty of chaos. The story leans heavily on situational comedy while keeping a layer of suspense alive throughout.

With this cast and its offbeat setup, the film promises a fun, entertaining ride full of quirky moments and unpredictable turns.
Audiences seem to be highly impressed by the trailer. One wrote, 'Left Hand Lohitಗೆ… (Hats off to Left Hand Lohit After a long time, a good film has come to Kannada. Our childhood star pair, Diganth and Nidhi Subbaiah, are back together on the silver screen.)'
Another one wrote, 'This is how trailer should be.
.. Kathe nu bitkod'de, curiosity build madide.. Kannadadalli olle trailer cut madalla anta ansodu... Finally they did it!. This movie should become superhit!.'
Diganth's massive comeback is on cards
The film also marks a reunion between Diganth and Nidhi Subbaiah, a pair that charmed audiences with the cult romantic hit Pancharangi in 2010. Over a decade later, their screen presence still holds nostalgic value for fans.
Meanwhile, Diganth appears to be establishing himself as the go-to face for quirky roles, with recent films like 'Bachelor Party' and 'Powder'.
'Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana', set to release in theatres on June 13, could be another feather in his cap, and the expectations are quite high.

Karan Johar calls out Bollywood's 'herd mentality'; Criticises trend of copying hits: 'You see 'Chhaava' working...'

Filmmaker Karan Johar has shared his honest thoughts about what's going wrong in Bollywood right now. The 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' director said that the biggest issue troubling the film industry today is the 'herd mentality'. He explained how too many filmmakers are trying to copy what's already worked instead of coming up with fresh and original ideas. 'Everybody wants to do what others are doing' While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, KJo pointed out that many in the industry are trying to repeat the success of hit films instead of focusing on new stories. He said, 'I think it is everybody grappling to do what others are doing. We see 'Pushpa' running and catering so strongly to the tier-2 and tier-3 audiences, suddenly, we will see 20 others wanting to do the same. You see 'Chhaava' working, everybody would want to make historicals. 'Stree' and everybody wants to make horror comedies. Those worked because they were individually strong, and there was no other option in that genre. It was a unique thought that made those films work.' The 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' director believes that the reason films like 'Stree' and 'Pushpa' did well is because they were different and strong in their own way. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Düsseldorf: Gutes Hören sucht 700 Testhörer für Hörgeräte ohne Zuzahlung Gutes Hören Undo Just copying those genres will not give the same results, he said. 'We need unique ideas' Karan also spoke about how important it is for filmmakers to trust their own thoughts and ideas rather than follow others. He shared how someone once asked him if he had his own film universe, like a spy or cop universe. The 'My Name is Khan' director further explained, 'We all need to have individual thoughts that are unique to ourselves. Someone asked me the other day, 'Do you have a universe?' I was like, 'As in?' They were like, 'A spy universe or a cop universe.' I was like, 'My universe is cinema itself.' I am not here to build universes, I am here to tell stories. In that story if there's a universe, then why not?' Karan made it clear that he is more interested in telling good stories rather than trying to build a big film universe just to fit in. Cannes appearance for 'Homebound' Apart from sharing his thoughts on the state of Bollywood, Karan recently made headlines for his appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. He attended the premiere of his film 'Homebound', which is backed by his production house. 'Homebound' is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and stars Ishaan Khatter , Vishal Jethwa , and Janhvi Kapoor . Travis Kelce's drug confession could test Taylor Swift's limits in their high-profile relationship

Taylor Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce faces scrutiny as an old interview resurfaces (Getty Images) As Taylor Swift continues to dominate global headlines with her record-breaking music tours and carefully protected persona, her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is also drawing intense public scrutiny. Now, a resurfaced interview from Kelce's past may be raising concerns—not just among fans, but potentially for Swift herself. Travis Kelce's resurfaced marijuana confession may be the biggest relationship red flag yet During the interview, Travis Kelce casually revealed that a large number of NFL players use marijuana during the offseason, saying many simply 'taper off' before the league's short testing window begins. 'I would say about 50 to 80 percent of the league,' Kelce estimated, referring to players who regularly use cannabis. While his comments may seem like harmless honesty to some, in the context of Swift's ultra-controlled public image, this kind of off-the-cuff candor could be problematic. Swift is known not just for her musical talent but for her exceptional brand management. She rarely speaks publicly about drama, opting instead to craft her messages through lyrics, carefully timed posts, or subtle metaphors. For someone who famously steers clear of controversy unless absolutely necessary, being linked to a partner who once disclosed locker room secrets—and admitted to past drug use—could be a reputational red flag. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play Chess on Your PC, Free Play Classic Chess Install Now Undo Especially since Kelce's drug-related past isn't limited to comments. Back in college, the tight end was suspended during his sophomore year at the University of Cincinnati for reportedly failing a drug test for marijuana. That incident likely impacted his NFL draft position. Although he has bounced back with an elite career, such past moments remain embedded in his public narrative. Swift's romantic history has already been shaped by public heartbreak and reputational fallout. Whether it's controversial exes or social media spats with former friends, she's learned to keep her circle tight and her tolerance for drama low. In Kelce, fans see a genuine, fun-loving personality—but Swift may be calculating what these resurfaced remarks could mean for her long-term image.
