Alice Cooper says Ozzy Osbourne was ‘unmatched showman and cultural icon'
Posting on Instagram, following a performance in Cardiff dedicated to the late singer, Cooper said: 'The whole world is mourning Ozzy tonight.

'Over his long career, he earned immense respect among his peers and from fans around the world as an unmatched showman and cultural icon.
'I always saw Ozzy as a cross between the prince of darkness, which is the persona his fans saw, and the court jester. That was the side that his family and friends saw.
'He was and will continue to be a rock and roll legend. Rock and Roll is a family and a fraternity. When we lose one of our own, it bleeds. I wish I would have gotten to know my brother Ozzy better.
'A titanic boulder has crashed, but rock will roll on.'
Also paying tribute to the late singer was Kermit the Frog, who worked with Osbourne on the album Kermit: Unpigged.
The statement, shared on The Muppets Instagram account, said: 'No-one rocked harder than the great Ozzy Osbourne.
'We loved working with him on our album Kermit: Unpigged. He recorded Born To Be Wild with Miss Piggy – the perfect song for both of them!
'Every time we bumped into Ozzy over the years, he made us feel just as cool as he was.
'We loved having a friend like Ozzy Osbourne and we feel so lucky to have known him, worked with him and experienced his music for so many decades.'
Sir Elton John remembered Osbourne as a 'huge trailblazer' who 'secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods'.
Writing on Instagram, Sir Elton said: 'He was also one of the funniest people I've ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon and the family, I send my condolences and love. Elton xx.'

The Rolling Stones' Wood also paid tribute after joining Osbourne at Black Sabbath's last gig at Villa Park, Birmingham, earlier this month.
He posted on X: 'I am so very sad to hear of the death of Ozzy Osbourne.
'What a lovely goodbye concert he had at Back To The Beginning in Birmingham.'
Singer Yungblud, who sang Black Sabbath's Changes at the Back To The Beginning farewell concert on July 5, said he was 'heartbroken' by the news and called Osbourne 'the greatest of all time'.
'I didn't think you would leave so soon, the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room,' he wrote in a social media post.
Rock band Motorhead said they had lost a 'dear friend' in a post that recalled the band's late vocalist Lemmy's friendship with Osbourne.

The message read: 'We lost our dear friend today. Ozzy was a pioneer, a guiding force for all in hard rock and metal, and a great guy too.
'Lemmy and Ozzy were brothers in arms who enjoyed many adventures together, and his loss is seismic. RIP Ozzy, we will always love and celebrate you… '
AC/DC posted that Osbourne's death was a 'great loss to all that loved him', with Metallica members calling him an 'icon' and 'mentor' while sharing images from photographers Ross Halfin and Noah Abrams.
'He taught us how to play in the big leagues while at the same time being warm, welcoming, engaging, and all around brilliant,' they wrote on Instagram.
Among the other stars paying tribute were former footballer Sir David Beckham, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Van Halen's Sammy Hagar, Jon Bon Jovi, singer Donny Osmond, Queen guitarist Sir Brian May and US movie star Adam Sandler, who said he felt 'so happy' that he was able to meet Osbourne.
Foo Fighters said in a social media post: 'Rock and Roll would not be as loud or as fun' without Osbourne, while Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant wrote he had 'truly changed the planet of rock'.

'There was never an Ozzy before Ozzy,' he said.
Sir Brian said Osbourne's final concert earlier in the month 'was a glorious way to say goodbye' to the heavy metal vocalist who died on July 22 at the age of 76.
Actor Jason Momoa shared a photo of himself alongside Osbourne and his wife Sharon to Instagram, writing: 'Love you @ozzyosbourne All my aloha @sharonosbourne and ohana. So grateful.'
Aston Villa, Osbourne's home-town football club, said it was 'saddened' to learn of the star's passing.
'Growing up in Aston, not far from Villa Park, Ozzy always held a special connection to the club and the community he came from,' the club said.

Ozzy's widow, Sharon, was seen for the first time since his death and was overcome by emotion as she took in the outpouring of love for her husband. As she broke down in tears, Sharon was comforted by children Jack, Kelly, and Aimee. The grandchildren of Sharon and Ozzy were also close by for the family moment. Last week, the Osbourne family announced that Ozzy had died at the age of 76, just days after he appeared on stage at his farewell Back to the Beginning concert, in his beloved hometown of Birmingham. KPop Demon Hunters song reaches number one in singles chart
The single, by animated group HUNTR/X, has jumped four places after being's last week's number four. In the albums chart, Merseyside band The K's have clinched their first number one album with Pretty On The Internet. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack also spends a sixth consecutive week at the top of the Official Compilations Chart, the Official Charts Company said. It is the first time a K-pop artist has gone to number one in the Official Singles Chart since 2012, when PSY's Gangnam Style became the UK's first-ever K-pop number one. Two more tracks from KPop Demon Hunters also make the top 20, Saja Boys, Andrew Choi and Neckwav's Your Idol jumps four places to reach number 10, while Soda Pop leaps six to 11. This week's highest new entry comes courtesy of Drake and Central Cee, whose single Which One has gone straight to number four in the charts. US singer Justin Bieber has slipped down from number one to two with Daisies, while Dior by producer MK, known as Marc Kinchen, featuring singer-songwriter Chrystal, is a number three and US singer Sabrina Carpenter is in fifth place with her chart-topper Manchild. It is a second top 10 for US singer Tinashe, as Disco Lines' reworking of No Broke Boys reaches number eight. Meanwhile queen of pop Madonna notches her 26th top 40 album this week with Veronica Electronica (23), a remix album featuring rare material from her Ray Of Light era. And synth-pop pioneer Gary Numan celebrates his 17th top 40 album of his career with A Perfect Circle at 34. Martin Talbot, chief executive officer at Official Charts, said: 'It's 13 years since PSY's Gangnam Style became the first K-Pop Number 1 in the UK, way back in October 2012, but this week represents another landmark moment for the globally dominating South Korean genre. 'While the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack tops the Official Compilations Chart again this week, the film also claims Number 1 in the Official Singles Chart through HUNTR/X's Golden. 'For the many music fans who have been to their enormous concerts, bought their merch and streamed their iconic songs, this will forever be the summer of Oasis – but K-pop's superstars are certainly giving the Gallaghers a run for their money.' The last time a track from an animated picture topped the singles chart was in 2022, when We Don't Talk About Bruno from Disney's Encanto became the first original song from a Disney animation to become a UK number 1 single.

Ozzy gave him the cross necklace in 2022 whilst he was recording a music video for his track, The Funeral. The pair enjoyed a close bond often likened to father and son with Yungblud going onto return the favour by gifting Ozzy his own custom-made cross necklace backstage at his final ever gig in Villa Park, Birmingham. Clearly a symbol of their bond, Yungblud has now shared a close-up image of the pendant alongside a heartfelt caption. He wrote: "Goodnight oz. your light will forever shine. I love you." It is understood that Yungblud gave a touching reading at his private funeral on Thursday. Ozzy was laid to rest next to the lake in his Buckinghamshire home. A wreath, which read: 'Ozzy f***ing Osbourne,' was placed by the bank of the water as 110 of Ozzy's nearest and dearest joined his wife Sharon and his children Jack, 39, Kelly, 40, Aimee, 41, and Louis, 50, who is Ozzy's son from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, for the service. A family friend told The Sun that Ozzy and Sharon's home was decorated with pictures of the Black Sabbath rocker - and that they had planned to give mourners a photograph of him to take home with them. They added: 'Ozzy's service was a beautiful tribute. As well as tears, there was laughter.' YUNGBLUD - teresa The road leading to Ozzy and Sharon's home, close to Gerrards Cross, was closed from 1pm. Guests were sent a simple black invitation with a picture of a cross that read: 'In loving memory of Ozzy Osbourne.' Mourners were transported from The Crowne Plaza and The Bull in Gerrards Cross to the house at 2pm, with the service starting at 3pm. Security teams were also in place to ensure the safety of those attending. A friend told The Sun: "There was a stage where people including Yungblud, who grew very close to Ozzy in recent years, were set to pay tribute to him. 'The day was incredibly emotional.
