GloRilla Arrested in Georgia on Two Felony Drug Charges: What We Know So Far
Memphis rapper GloRilla is once again in hot water legally within the state of Georgia. The 'Tomorrow 2' rapper, whose real name is Gloria Woods, was arrested Tuesday in Forsyth County on two counts of felony drug possession, TMZ has discovered from jail records. Felony Drug Charges and Jail Time According to official papers obtained by TMZ, Woods was charged with two offenses: possession of a scheduled controlled substance and possession of in excess of one ounce of marijuana. Both offenses are felonies under the state statutes in Georgia, which has some of the strongest drug legislation in the country. While the actual substance covered under the scheduled drug offense has not yet been named, possession of any Schedule I or II drug can bring significant prison time upon conviction, the length of which will depend on quantity and situation. Police have yet to release further information about the arrest. There has not been any incident report released, and it is not yet clear what prompted the authorities to arrest her in the first instance. But what is confirmed is that GloRilla was arrested and later released the same day after posting $22,000 bond, according to the records of the Forsyth County Jail. TMZ covered that questions issued to the representatives of GloRilla were still pending. A Pattern of Legal Trouble in Georgia GloRilla has been arrested twice already in Georgia within the last fifteen months. In April 2024, she was arrested in Gwinnett County on suspicion of DUI. That police report stated officers observed a vehicle allegedly driven by Woods make a U-turn through a solid red light, and they pulled her over. Video from body cameras at the time, as reported, showed officers saying they smelled marijuana and alcohol emanating from the vehicle. She allegedly admitted to having a drink when questioned. She reportedly indicated intoxication, staggering through a field sobriety test while being visibly shaky and unbalanced on her feet. That arrest made headlines but failed to derail her music career. GloRilla's Meteoric Rise and Recent Turbulence GloRilla burst into the mainstream in 2022 with breakout debut hit 'F.N.F. (Let's Go)' and subsequently the chart-climbing 'Tomorrow 2' with Cardi B. Acclaimed for her raspy vocals, free-flowing lyricism, and unflinching Memphis attitude, Woods quickly emerged as a top voice of Southern rap's Gen Z era. Her debut EP 'Anyways, Life's Great…' was both critically and commercially acclaimed, landing her on XXL's Freshman list and a string of award nods. But 2024 and 2025 have been plagued by personal and legal drama. The recent string of back-to-back run-ins with Georgia authorities just as GloRilla was preparing to drop an alleged sophomore album. While she has stayed relatively low-key on social media since last year's DUI incident, supporters have noticed a slowdown in frequent music releases and public appearances. So far, GloRilla has not made any public declaration about the latest arrest. Hulk Hogan, Shirt-Shredding Superstar of Pro Wrestling, Dies at 71
Hulk Hogan, whose flamboyance and star power helped transform professional wrestling from a low-budget regional attraction into a multibillion dollar industry, has died at 71. World Wrestling Entertainment confirmed his death in an email on Thursday but did not provide other details. Even after his wrestling days were over, Hogan remained in the spotlight, most visibly in 2024, when he spoke at the Republican National Convention, tearing off his shirt to reveal a Trump/Vance shirt underneath. Hogan was the face of pro wrestling for decades, with his blond hair and horseshoe mustache, colorful bandannas and massive biceps, which he referred to as '24-inch pythons.' His routine before a match was guaranteed to send fans into a frenzy. He would cup his hand to his ear to encourage the roaring crowd and tear off his shirt, which was pre-ripped to ease the process. Fans loved him for his charm and physique as much as for his old-fashioned grappling ability. Hogan was born Terry Gene Bollea, on Aug. 11, 1953, in Augusta, Ga. His father, Peter, was a construction foreman; his mother, Ruth (Moody) Bollea, was a dance teacher. He attended the University of South Florida but dropped out, choosing the wrestling mat over the classroom. He started wrestling in 1977. Like many in the sport, he was a big man, weighing 300 pounds in his prime. He was also exceptionally tall, 6-foot-8, helping to further a trend toward very big men in wrestling. He adopted the name 'Hulk' because of comparisons to the muscular comic book character on the CBS television program 'The Incredible Hulk.' In 1979, he made it to the World Wrestling Federation (now the W.W.E.) and took on the alliterative last name Hogan. A full obituary will appear soon.
