Miley Cyrus Wasnt Permitted To Sing Hannah Montana Songs After Leaving Disney

India.com2 days ago

Washington : Actress-singer Miley Cyrus had to leave the 'Hannah Montana' songs behind after exiting the Disney Channel, reported Variety.
In a recent conversation on Spotify's 'The Ringer' podcast, as quoted by Variety, Cyrus said she 'wasn't allowed' to sing any of the original songs from her hit TV series 'Hannah Montana' after the show ended in 2011.
"After I left Disney, I wasn't allowed to perform any of the 'Hannah Montana' music. It's not like I wanted to, I mean, performing 'The Best Of Both Worlds' between 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball,' wouldn't have really made sense. It was still sad knowing those songs have my voice, my face, and I wasn't allowed to sing them," said Miley Cyrus as quoted by Variety.
However, after Cyrus was named a Disney Legend at D23 2024, the actress was "given permission to perform those songs in the future," which Cyrus said was "pretty cool," as reported by Variety.
As per the outlet, 'Hannah Montana,' which followed a regular teen who lives a double life as the titular pop sensation, ran for 100 episodes from 2006 to 2011 on the Disney Channel.
Other cast members included Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mitchel Musso and Moises Arias.
Recently, the pop sensation Miley Cyrus officially released her highly anticipated ninth studio album, 'Something Beautiful'.
This new album marks a significant milestone in Cyrus's nearly 20-year career, following the success of her 2023 album 'Endless Summer Vacation', which featured the global hit single 'Flowers'.
Cyrus describes 'Something Beautiful' as "a unique visual experience fueled by fantasy" and a "one of a kind pop opera".T
The album explores themes of beauty, death, psychedelia, impermanence, heartbreak, and destruction, showcasing Cyrus's artistic growth and experimentation, as reported by Variety.

Snow White OTT release: When and where to watch Rachel Zegler's magical tale online

Get ready to experience the magic of Disney's live-action Snow White from the comfort of your home. According to Variety, the remake will begin streaming on Disney+ from 11 June. Starring West Side Story breakout Rachel Zegler in the titular role, Snow White is the latest classic to receive a 21st-century makeover. Inspired by the 1937 animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the story follows the young princess as she escapes her wicked stepmother—played by Gal Gadot—and finds refuge with a group of seven dwarfs in an enchanted forest. On Amazon, the film is priced at $29.99 to buy and $24.99 to rent. A wider home release, including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions, is scheduled for 24 June. The home entertainment edition will feature special content such as a sing-along version, bloopers, deleted scenes, and behind-the-scenes featurettes. Disney is also set to release a 2-Movie Collection pairing the new film with the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. This bundle will be available in various formats and resolutions. Rachel Zegler headlines the cast, joined by Gal Gadot, who portrays a darker, more layered version of the Evil Queen. The seven dwarfs are brought to life by a diverse voice cast, including Andrew Barth Feldman, Tituss Burgess, Martin Klebba, and Jeremy Swift. While retaining beloved songs from the original, the new film also introduces original compositions that support its updated storyline. The screenplay, written by Erin Cressida Wilson, blends elements from the Brothers Grimm tale and Disney's legacy, striking a balance between fantasy and emotional depth. At present, Disney has not confirmed a streaming release date for Snow White on Disney+, as reported by Decider. Typically, Disney films appear on the platform between four to six months after their theatrical release. A recent example is Mufasa: The Lion King, which became available on Disney+ about three months after its digital debut. If Snow White follows a similar pattern, it could land on Disney+ by late June 2025. However, until an official announcement is made, fans will need to purchase or rent the digital version—or revisit the original 1937 film, which remains available on Disney+.

Miley Cyrus reveals her siblings were embarrassed by Hannah Montana fame & how she fixed her family without any therapy

Miley Cyrus has opened up about the deep emotional divide within her family and how they managed to reconnect after years of strained relationships—without ever going to therapy. Speaking on the Reclaiming podcast with Monica Lewinsky, the singer reflected on a long and difficult period marked by silence, personal distance, and healing that came the hard way. Siblings were uncomfortable during Hannah Montana fame Cyrus revealed that during her Hannah Montana days, some of her siblings distanced themselves due to discomfort with her fame. "Half of my family wasn't even talking to each other," she said, referring to the fractured dynamics that took hold over the years. With siblings from both of her parents' past relationships—Brandi, Trace, Braison, Noah, and Cody—the situation was layered and tense. The discomfort, she said, wasn't just due to fame. Her parents' divorce in 2022 only deepened divides, with some members leaning toward her mother, Tish, and others aligning with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley admitted she felt closer to her mother during this time. No therapy, just effort and conversation Instead of structured family counseling, the Cyrus family opted for informal reconnection. "Just getting everyone into a room would've been a war," Miley said. She added, 'We're so messy, we didn't even do any of that,' referring to traditional therapy. Rather than wait for the perfect moment or formal process, Miley took the first step. 'I just showed up and said, 'Let's enjoy the moment together,'' she shared. That casual approach led to deeper conversations and gradual healing. Music, reconnection, and letting go of baggage Cyrus likened their unresolved conflicts to emotional 'hoarding,' explaining how issues had piled up over time. 'You don't even know where to start,' she said. But slowly, through honest conversations and shared time, the walls started to come down. Now, Cyrus says she's in a better place with both her parents and her siblings. She's channeled some of that healing into her upcoming music. Her next album will feature a track called Secrets, which she says touches on the silence and truth her family avoided for years. Miley Cyrus' honesty and initiative helped repair family ties, proving not all healing needs a therapist — just communication and time.

Sidhu Moosewala's unreleased songs drop on birth anniversary amid BBC documentary clash

On the birth anniversary of late Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala, three previously unreleased tracks — 008, Take Notes, and Neal — were officially released on his YouTube channel and Spotify. The tracks are part of a posthumous mixtape titled Moose Print and feature production by The Kidd, Mrxci, Jay B Singh, and Sidhu himself. The artist's popularity has endured more than two years after his death, as the three tracks collectively surpassed 7.8 million views on YouTube, within hours. The release sparked a wave across social media, with fans flooding the comment sections to celebrate Moosewala's legacy. Born Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, Moosewala was shot and killed in Mansa district, Punjab, in May 2022. Canadian gangster Goldy Brar, along with a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the attack. Since then, several of Sidhu's posthumous works have been released, drawing both critical and commercial attention. The timing of the song drop coincided with the release of the first two episodes of a BBC documentary that explores Sidhu's rise to fame and the events leading up to his murder. However, the documentary has been met with legal pushback from Sidhu's father, Balkaur Singh, who alleged that the BBC used his son's story and likeness without consent. Singh's legal team also expressed concerns that the content might interfere with the ongoing investigation into Sidhu's killing. The BBC had planned a screening of the documentary in Mumbai but pulled it at the last minute following the controversy. Instead, the episodes were quietly uploaded to YouTube. A court hearing to address the legal dispute is scheduled for June 12.
