Miley Cyrus Wasnt Permitted To Sing Hannah Montana Songs After Leaving Disney

India.coma day ago

Washington : Actress-singer Miley Cyrus had to leave the 'Hannah Montana' songs behind after exiting the Disney Channel, reported Variety.
In a recent conversation on Spotify's 'The Ringer' podcast, as quoted by Variety, Cyrus said she 'wasn't allowed' to sing any of the original songs from her hit TV series 'Hannah Montana' after the show ended in 2011.
"After I left Disney, I wasn't allowed to perform any of the 'Hannah Montana' music. It's not like I wanted to, I mean, performing 'The Best Of Both Worlds' between 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball,' wouldn't have really made sense. It was still sad knowing those songs have my voice, my face, and I wasn't allowed to sing them," said Miley Cyrus as quoted by Variety.
However, after Cyrus was named a Disney Legend at D23 2024, the actress was "given permission to perform those songs in the future," which Cyrus said was "pretty cool," as reported by Variety.
As per the outlet, 'Hannah Montana,' which followed a regular teen who lives a double life as the titular pop sensation, ran for 100 episodes from 2006 to 2011 on the Disney Channel.
Other cast members included Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mitchel Musso and Moises Arias.
Recently, the pop sensation Miley Cyrus officially released her highly anticipated ninth studio album, 'Something Beautiful'.
This new album marks a significant milestone in Cyrus's nearly 20-year career, following the success of her 2023 album 'Endless Summer Vacation', which featured the global hit single 'Flowers'.
Cyrus describes 'Something Beautiful' as "a unique visual experience fueled by fantasy" and a "one of a kind pop opera".T
The album explores themes of beauty, death, psychedelia, impermanence, heartbreak, and destruction, showcasing Cyrus's artistic growth and experimentation, as reported by Variety.

Justin Baldoni clarifies ‘$650 million lawsuit against Blake Lively thrown out' claims, reveals what's really happened

Justin Baldoni has decided to continue his legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively even after a judge dismissed his $650 million defamation lawsuit against Blake, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times. (Also read: Blake Lively breaks silence on Justin Baldoni's $650 million lawsuit dismissal: 'Felt the pain of manufactured shame') In a statement given to Variety, Baldoni's lawyer Bryan Freedman said, "Ms. Lively and her team's predictable declaration of victory is false, so let us be clear about the latest ruling. While the court dismissed the defamation related claims, the court has invited us to amend four out of the seven claims against Ms. Lively, which will showcase additional evidence and refined allegations. This case is about false accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation and a nonexistent smear campaign, which Ms. Lively's own team conveniently describes as 'untraceable' because they cannot prove what never happened.' 'Most importantly, Ms. Lively's own claims are no truer today than they were yesterday, and with the facts on our side, we march forward with the same confidence that we had when Ms. Lively and her cohorts initiated this battle and look forward to her forthcoming deposition, which I will be taking. We are grateful for the organic show of support from the public and for the dedication of the Internet sleuth community, who continue to cover the case with discernment and integrity," the statement added. On Monday, Baldoni faced a major legal blow as judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed his countersuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist, along with his defamation lawsuit against The New York Times. The court's decision ended the director-actor's $650 million legal battle, accusing them of extortion and defamation.

Did Nick Frost Agree With JK Rowling's Problematic Opinions? Actor Responds Post-Harry Potter Casting Backlash

Nick Frost, who is set to play Hagrid in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter series, has spoken out about the backlash he received for working on the project alongside author J.K. Rowling. In a new interview with The Observer, the actor made it clear that his views on trans rights are not in line with Rowling's. J.K. Rowling, who created the Harry Potter universe, has faced ongoing criticism in recent years over her comments on gender identity, which many consider anti-trans. Despite this, she remains closely involved with the HBO reboot as an executive producer. HBO chief Casey Bloys previously confirmed that Rowling was very involved in the process of choosing the creative team. Nick Frost, known for his roles in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, said he had to disable comments on his Instagram post announcing his casting due to the strong reactions from trans rights activists. 'She's allowed her opinion and I'm allowed mine,' Frost told The Observer. 'They just don't align in any way, shape, or form.' Here's what Nick Frost said about the backlash When asked if he was concerned the debate over Rowling's views might overshadow the new Harry Potter series, Frost replied, 'I don't know. But maybe it shouldn't blow over? We shouldn't just hope it will go away, because it makes it easier. Maybe we should educate ourselves.' Frost's comments come as the Harry Potter reboot prepares to begin production. The series, which aims to retell the story of the original books with a new cast, has already drawn attention due to Rowling's involvement. What about other Harry Potter stars? Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the original Harry Potter films, recently shared a different perspective. Speaking to Variety at the Tony Awards in New York, Felton said the controversy surrounding Rowling hasn't changed how he feels about the franchise. 'The only thing I always remind myself is that I've been lucky enough to travel the world, here I am in New York, and I have not seen anything bring the world together more than 'Potter,'' Felton said. 'And she's responsible for that, so I'm incredibly grateful.' As the new Harry Potter series moves forward, the debate around Rowling's public statements and involvement continues to stir reactions from both fans and cast members. While Frost is clear that his beliefs don't match Rowling's, others in the Harry Potter universe remain appreciative of her work.
