The 56-year-old even ripped out the kitchen of a couple who were weeks away from having a baby and ran away without refitting it.
Brown, who lived in Bristol, boasted about having over 25 years of experience carrying out "quality, fully guaranteed kitchen installations in and around the South West and Wales".
The dad went on holidays and his wife posted glam pics of their adventures after he left the lives of other families in tatters.
Brown was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court for 19 counts of theft.
Charges were also brought against his wife Nina, who was listed as a company director at the time, but the case against her was formally discontinued in court last week.
Brown was sentenced to 18 months in prison, BristolLive reported.
The court heard he "lied and lied consistently" in his schemes.
The cowboy builder would warn prospective customers that they needed to agree to the job and pay upfront swiftly, or prices would go up.
Once they paid him and he ripped out their kitchen, he would disappear and provide a myriad of excuses.
He later claimed he had a "mental breakdown" and his company had gone into liquidation, telling the distraught families they would not be receiving any money back or any new kitchens.
The court heard that many had "wiped out" their savings and taken out massive loans to pay the dodgy builder - but were left with their kitchens in ruins.
One victim told the court how they discovered Brown was splashing out on holidays while their lives were in tatters.
They said: "What made it worse was that he continued to go on all these lovely holidays.
"His wife would post pictures of them going on holidays, one after another, all the time. I stopped looking because she blocked me on Facebook, but friends would send me screenshots.
"I was left thinking 'these are holidays we should be going on, not him'."
The court heard that victims were left without running water and without anyway of cooking.
"We didn't have running water, no way of cooking, no washing machine. We rigged up a temporary thing in the garage, but he left it and that went on for ten weeks, with different excuses.
"In the end I rang Howdens and they said they could deliver the kitchen, but it would have to be paid for. That's when I realised for sure what was going on, it was devastating."
There was some dispute in court about the total amount of money that he had stolen.
The prosecution opened their case and put the amount at £101,602.91, but Brown's defence counsel David Sapiecha said the true figure was £84,817.
The court was told that the couple are in the process of selling their home and the proceeds would be used to pay back every penny to people who had lost money.

Armed robber tried to hold up ASDA before young woman's body found in his home

A man arrested in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old woman had earlier pulled a knife while shoplifting at an ASDA supermarket - then alerted police to the body after his arrest A woman found dead in a house after a suspected armed robber tried to hold up a supermarket has been named locally as Courtney Angus - described by neighbours as a 'beautiful girl with a beautiful soul'. Police have launched a murder investigation following the horror discovery at a terraced house in Batley, West Yorkshire, where the 21-year-old was found on Saturday. The man arrested in connection with her death had allegedly earlier pulled a knife while shoplifting at an ASDA supermarket in Dewsbury. After his arrest, the suspect reportedly told police that a woman was dead inside a nearby property. Officers forced entry to the home on Norfolk Street and found Courtney's body inside. Flowers have since been left outside the home with forensic specialists continuing to comb the scene. Police confirmed the 37-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Courtney's stepfather, Andy Ledgard, today paid a moving tribute. 'She was just a lovely girl who has her life taken away before she had a chance,' said Andy, 58, who laid flowers at the scene. 'I loved her and took her on as my own. I don't know what she was doing at that man's house. She did not deserve to die. I'm dreadfully upset and just want answers. I've not slept for two days.' He added that he is not Courtney's biological father, but is named on her birth certificate and has her name tattooed on his stomach. Courtney, from Dewsbury, is believed to be one of at least three sisters. Her sibling Chloe posted a heartfelt message about sisterhood on Facebook, which was met with messages of condolence. Police said formal identification has not yet taken place, but tributes have poured in online. One friend wrote: 'Love you in a million ways and I'll miss you in a million more.' The man arrested is believed to live alone at the Norfolk Street address, having previously lived there with two former partners and three children. His most recent partner is understood to have moved out with their kids a few months ago. Neighbours said the suspect worked various jobs, including recently starting a window-cleaning round. One neighbour, Adil Hussein, said: 'He's had a few jobs over the years, factories and building jobs. He is an odd job man. Last Friday, the day before all this, he came round offering to clean my windows for £10.' 'He is a nice enough guy. Never knew him to get into any trouble or be violent. Certainly never thought he would carry knives or hurt anybody." Adil said the suspect had friends over for drinks and barbecues but was generally quiet. 'I never saw a girl there." Children's soft toys were visible in an upstairs window of the house, but no children were present when police arrived. West Yorkshire Police confirmed that shortly after 9.21pm on Saturday, they responded to the armed robbery call at ASDA, about half a mile from the address. Two other people who police had initially feared may have come to harm are no longer being sought. Detective Chief Inspector Dan Bates said: 'This is clearly a very serious incident, where a young woman has lost her life. There is a heightened police presence in Dewsbury today as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident. A murder investigation is underway [but] we do not believe there is any wider risk to the public at this time." Police are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage to come forward.

She was rushed to hospital and underwent two surgeries on the same day, reportedly suffering two cardiac arrests during the first. Despite doctors' efforts, she died on Saturday. According to a police report, Rodrigues — a former civil court judge who is now a practicing lawyer — had just left a nightclub with the woman, believed to be a sex worker. Surveillance footage allegedly showed her nude and trying to get off his lap when the vehicle came to a stop near a supermarket. Moments later, Rodrigues is said to have stepped on the accelerator, sending the truck into Bonatti. By the time police arrived, the woman had dressed and fled the scene. Officers said Rodrigues smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech, and appeared unsteady on his feet. He was arrested and charged with manslaughter, but walked free on Friday after paying 40,000 Brazilian reais (around $7,150) in bail. The judge's family released a statement expressing sympathy, saying: 'Dr. Fernando's family expresses its deepest condolences and solidarity with the victim's family, reaffirming its absolute respect for their pain and mourning. Country music star, 24, dies in tragic accident after falling off back of pickup truck when it was suddenly started 'Since the incident, they have been offering support to the victim's family.' His legal team added that Rodrigues is barred from interviews due to the ongoing investigation, stressing: 'This silence is not only a legal obligation but also a sign of respect.' But Bonatti's family has been left reeling. Her brother, William de Andrade, blasted the decision to let Rodrigues walk free. He told local outlet TV TEM: 'At that time, I was looking for a coffin for my sister. He paid bail and left. 'He would certainly be sleeping with his family at that time, and I was at the hospital going through the formalities for my sister to be buried.' 8 The former judge, 61, reportedly slammed his Ford Ranger pickup into her in the early hours of Thursday Credit: Newsflash 8 She suffered two cardiac arrests during first surgery and died on Saturday Credit: Newsflash De Andrade remembered his sister as a lively and hardworking young woman known for performing at stand-up clubs across São Paulo state. 'She wasn't mean, 30 years old with the mind of a 20-year-old, besides being a happy and hard-working girl. 'This pain we are going through is very difficult, only God can help us bear it.' Tributes have since flooded Bonatti's social media. One friend wrote: 'I love you my friend.
