TWO women have died and a 15-year-old girl was injured in a horror three-vehicle crash on a Scots road.
Mercy crews raced to the scene at around 3.05pm this afternoon on the A96 at the junction of Kinloss Road in Forres, Moray, following reports of a collision involving two cars and an HGV.

Two women, aged 48 and 56, who were travelling in a black Vauxhall Mokka, died at the scene.
A 15-year-old girl who was a passenger in the same car was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where she is being treated for her injuries.
Her condition is not yet known.
The driver of the HGV and the occupants of the Volkswagen Golf were not injured in the smash.
The A96 is expected to remain closed for several hours.
Police are urging the public to avoid the area.
The force is appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Lesley Morrison at Road Policing in Elgin said: 'We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this tragic crash or anyone who has dashcam footage of it.'

Renault Clio 11 The Renault Clio will do 0=60 in 10.6 seconds Credit: Getty First up, he recommended the much-loved family classic Renault Clio. The 1.2-litre inline-four is not as thirsty as many other hatchbacks, while it can still get you where you need to go with a 0-60 time of 10.6 seconds. JB said: "It's the joint-quickest car on the list but, despite that, it will still manage 51 miles per gallon (mpg) and costs £135 per year in road tax. "This is the perfect first car, but it can substitute as a family hatch instead, given it's not too small in size." Within the budget, drivers should target the third-generation models, starting at around £1,800 online. Skoda Citigo 11 JB said the Skoda is best used as a city car A slightly smaller engine powers the Citigo, with a titchy 1-litre inline-three putting out a 0-60 time of 13.9 seconds. It's more expensive on the tax side, too, with an annual bill of £165, but is more economical than the previous options, at 55mpg. JB said: "It's not my cup of tea due to how small it is, and I'd maybe only recommend it as a city car that's focussed on short journeys. "But I do like how basic it is, with all the amenities you need as a driver, nothing more, nothing less." It is also more expensive at purchase, with basic models sneaking in just under the £2,000 cap online. Ford KA 11 The Ford has been known to suffer from some engine issues Credit: Handout Back to the inline-fours, the Ford is still a touch sluggish, reaching 60mph in 13 seconds. However, in terms of running costs, it's a steal, with a tax bill of just £30 and a 57 mpg economy rate. JB said that the model's shared development with the Fiat 500 led to common issues, including engine problems and corrosion. Meanwhile, initial purchase costs are high, with a starting price right on the £2,000 line. Kia Picanto 11 The Picanto is the slowest car on the list Credit: supplied The slowest car on the list, with a 0-60 of just 14.6 seconds. However, again it is just £30 for the tax and its economy is a generous 58mpg. It was initially marketed by rallying legend Marcus Granholm but JB said it drives more like a city car. Basic models are available for around £1,000, with plenty of options under £2,000. Suzuki Alto 11 It was pipped to the top spot by its sister car, the Alto Credit: Autotrader A sister car of the Pixo, sharing the same frame and drivetrain, the Suzuki just edges it out as it's 0.5 of a second quicker, with the same excellent economy. JB revealed that it was originally designed for the Indian market but came over to Europe shortly after. It was even built in response to rising prices after the 2008 financial crisis, making it ideal for today's tough times. The Alto is available online for around £1,900 but is a bargain considering its affordability in terms of running costs. Fiat Grande Punto 11 The Punto has struggled with its safety rating over the years Credit: Handout With a similar engine to the Renault, the Fiat is a few seconds off the pace, but slightly more economical at 52 mpg. It is also identical in its road tax expense so is still good value all round. JB added: "One strange fact about these is that, on release, they had the highest level of safety when they were retested in 2012, they go zero stars." He suggested this was likely due to a lack of updates on the safety features between the car's 2005 debut and its retest seven years on. The Grande Punto is available for around £1,500, while high-mileage but more recent examples clock in at £2,000. However, JB warned that issues with "build quality" could lead to some dangerous flaws, including steering failure. Mini Hatch 11 The Mini Hatch brings its unique British heritage to the table Credit: Getty The Mini Hatch ties the Clio for pace and comes with its unique British heritage. Earlier models can be found online for as little as £1,000, though these are likely to be high-mileage. JB explained: "It's quoted as doing 53 mpg...I can attest to them being very solid little cars. "The only negative is them being four-seaters, rather than five, so slightly less practical. "But, I would consider it to be amongst the nicest of the cars on the list and if you find a first example it's even more economical." Peugeot 107 11 The 107 uses a Toyota engine despite its Peugeot badge Credit: Handout JB perhaps summed this model up best when he said: "I had to bring back the Peugeot 107 into this vide, given how incredible the running costs really are." And incredible they are, costing only £20 in tax and doing a whopping 61mpg. He added that the Toyota engine under the Peugeot shell is "renowned for its reliability", but did cite issues around boot space and water leakage. Still for just £1,000 at the bottom end, many will consider this a great deal. Hyundai I10 11 The Hyundai costs just £20 in road tax Back on the quicker side, with a 0-60 of 11.8 seconds, the Hyundai, like the Peugeot, is £20 for the year's worth of tax and manages 61 mpg. JB said: "This is the sister car to the Kia Picanto we mentioned before. "Though they are very cheap feeling, they are the definition of cheap and cheerful." Although, they do start at the limit of £2,000 so are on the more expensive end of the list. Nissan Pixo 11 The Pixo famously appeared on Top Gear Credit: Nick's Picks Hatchbacks The Pixo is another slower option, but manages a list-topping 65mpg and still only costs £20 in road tax. JB said: "What made the Pixo famous for me was its appearance on Top Gear." They clock in at a minimum of £1,500, with 2010 models at £2,000.

Thug who brawled with cops in Manchester Airport GUILTY of assault after chaos sparked nationwide protests

Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, and his brother Muhammad Amaad, 26, sparked nationwide protests after accusing the officers of attacking them. But during their trial, it was alleged the brothers had actually lashed out at police when they were called to deal with an earlier altercation. Amaaz was captured on CCTV headbutting passenger Abdulkareem Ismaeil in the cafe and punching him in a Starbucks. When PC Zachary Marsden, PC Ellie Cook and PC Lydia Ward approached the brothers in the car park of Terminal 2, Amaaz and Amaad were accused of displaying a "high level of violence". Amaaz has now been convicted of assaulting PC Ward and PC Cook following the horror last July, as well as assaulting Abdulkareem in the Starbucks. He and his brother were also accused of assaulting PC Marsden occasioning actual bodily harm but jurors could not reach a verdict on that count. The Crown Prosecution Service will now decide whether to hold a retrial on that charge. Footage showed Amaaz resisting arrest as the officers tried to move him away from a payment machine to cuff him. He threw ten punches - including one to PC Ward's face that sent her crashing to the ground with blood pouring from her nose. Amaaz also twice struck firearms officer PC Cook with his elbow. Moment man 'headbutted dad at Manchester airport before brawling with cops' Both Amaaz and PC Marsden then fell to the ground before the officer got up and appeared to "stamp" his foot towards Amaaz's head, Manchester Crown Court heard. But jurors were told the cop "doesn't appear to connect with Mr Amaaz". As the brawl continued, the police officers got their Tasers out before managing to handcuff the brothers with the help of other cops. At one point, PC Ward could be seen appearing to cry as she holds her nose. Jurors heard PC Marsden suffered "post-concussion syndrome" and was left with a "severe headache" for three days, dizziness, forgetfulness and bruising and swelling. PC Ward was left with a broken nose and needed surgery under general anaesthetic, it was said. The court heard previously that the brothers had gone to meet their mum at the airport on July 23 last year. She had been involved in some sort of incident with Abdulkareem either on their flight or shortly after it. 7 Video showed one of the brothers headbutting a passenger before the brawl As the brothers passed by Starbucks, the mum pointed out Abdulkareem to her sons as he sat with his wife and children in the cafe. Amaaz entered the cafe and headbutted the dad before punching him a number of times. Protests were held across Rochdale and Manchester after the footage emerged last summer. The brothers later said they were threatened by an officer and thrown to the ground. Their claims saw Greater Manchester Police plunged into crisis as video showed PC Marsden allegedly kicking Amaaz. They initially hired TikTok solicitor Akhmed Yakoob to represent them but he quit when new footage was released revealing the cops had been attacked. Timeline of chaos Footage of an incident at Manchester Airport between police officers and members of the public went viral on social media in July. A timeline below sets out what happened: July 23: According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP), an altercation takes place between passengers from a Qatar Airways flight which arrives at Manchester Airport at 7.20pm. A second incident, which police describe as a "violent altercation involving members of the public", happens in the Starbucks of Terminal Two just after 8.20pm. A third incident happens in the car park pay point area shortly before 8.30pm. Brothers Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, and Muhammed Amaad, 25 and their mother Shameem Akhtar, 56, from Rochdale, are allegedly assaulted. Police say three of their officers receive head injuries, including a broken nose. Four men are arrested at the scene for affray and assault on emergency service workers. July 24: A police officer is removed from operational duties after footage of the incident, appearing to show a man being kicked and having his head stamped on as he lies on the floor, is shared online. Police make a voluntary referral of their response to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). That night, an estimated 200 people gather outside Rochdale police station to protest in response. GMP say the protest concludes "without incident" July 25: A GMP officer is suspended from all duties. The IOPC confirms it is independently investigating the level of force used. Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham says he has seen full footage of the incident, which shows a "fast-moving and complicated" situation with "issues for both sides". Protests in Manchester city centre that evening involve blocked roads and tram lines while videos online appear to show a handful of demonstrators with their faces covered, throwing eggs at Rochdale police station. Rochdale MP Paul Waugh says he has spoken to the family involved and they want to appeal for calm. July 26: The IOPC announces that a police constable is under criminal investigation for assault and has been told he is being investigated for potential gross misconduct for a number of alleged breaches of professional standards, including his use of force. Former Rochdale MP George Galloway visits the town and says he plans to meet the family involved. July 27: New footage, appearing to show events in the moments before the video which has already been shared, becomes public. The Manchester Evening News publishes the video, which appears to show men throwing punches at officers. Two female officers appear to be struck, with one ending up on the ground. August 1: Solicitor for the family, Aamer Anwar, says he has spoken with the IOPC about lodging a formal complaint against officers and says the family wants to understand on what legal basis Mr Burnham was shown the complete CCTV. August 6: The family and their lawyer hold a press conference in which they outline their version of events. August 8: The IOPC reveals a second officer is under criminal investigation for assault, relating to an incident shortly afterwards when two other men were arrested. The watchdog's acting regional director Catherine Bates says its investigation is ongoing in parallel with a GMP investigation into whether criminal offences were committed by members of the public. August 15: GMP says a "comprehensive file of evidence" has been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for advice as part of an investigation into a series of alleged criminal offences. September 5: The family meet with the IOPC to discuss progress on its investigation. September 6: A spokesman for the police watchdog says it will investigate whether someone employed by the force shared footage. October 7: MPs from Reform UK write to Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, pledging to launch a private prosecution against those involved if charges are not brought by the CPS. November 18: The CPS says it is still "considering material" and working with police and the IOPC while inquiries continue. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage says the party will make a legal application. December 20: It is announced that Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, has been charged with two offences of causing actual bodily harm, one charge of assaulting an emergency worker and one charge of common assault, and Muhammed Amaad, 25, has been charged with one count of causing actual bodily harm. No police officers will be charged, the CPS says. July 7, 2025: Unseen footage is released by the CPS showing Ammaz attacking the officers. It also emerges Amaaz had earlier headbutted a passenger in a Starbucks at the airport. Amaaz kept up his narrative of being the victim during the trial - claiming he feared he would be "killed" by PC Marsden during the chaos. He added: "It's not like it hasn't happened before when police officers have abused their powers and people have died.' Amaaz denied assaulting PC Marsden and PC Ward, causing them actual bodily harm. He was also accused of the assault of PC Cook and the earlier assault of Abdulkareem Ismaeil at Starbucks. Amaad pleaded not guilty to assaulting PC Marsden, causing actual bodily harm. A 9-year-old girl is currently in hospital with serious injuries with four other children being treated for minor injuries, cops say. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 A woman has died and five children are injured after a horror crash Police are urging witnesses to come forward following the fatal collision in Pytchley, Northamptonshire. The driver of a black Mercedes 220E limousine and the driver of a black Citroen DS3 car collided yesterday evening at 10.15pm. The crash happened at the crossroad junction with Wellingborough Road and Broughton Road. A 53-year old man from Bedfordshire and a 22-year-old man from Wellingborough have been arrested in connection with the incident, according to the Northamptonshire Police. A spokesperson for the force said: "As a result of the collision, a woman in her 40s sadly died at the scene and a nine-year-old girl was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital with serious injuries. "Both were passengers in the Mercedes. "Four other passengers from the Mercedes – an adult and three children – were taken to hospital for minor injuries along with two passengers - adult and child - from the Citroen. "Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam footage that captured any part of the collision."
