She said: 'We've always been an all-or-nothing band. And even though it's utterly heartbreaking, we have accepted that our musical journey together is reaching its end. We have one song left within us as a band. We want to finish on a decisive high, having released four albums that we are 100 percent proud of.
'There is no animosity between band members and we wanted to give the band a proper send-off, with a final UK tour and final shows all over the world coming in 2026. It means a lot to us that we can give Svalbard one last year before we musically go our separate ways.'
Serena started the band with guitarist and vocalist Liam Phelan in 2011.
Their debut, One Day All This Will End, arrived in 2015, and they quickly gained a reputation for combining post-hardcore, post-metal and black metal with emotionally raw, socially conscious lyrics.

'Skibidi' among 6,000 words added to Cambridge dictionary
Words popularised by Gen Z and Gen Alpha including "skibidi", "delulu", and "tradwife" are among 6,000 new entries to the online edition of the Cambridge Dictionary over the last year, its publisher said. Cambridge University Press said tradwife, a portmanteau of traditional wife, reflected "a growing, controversial Instagram and TikTok trend that embraces traditional gender roles". The dictionary also took on the challenge of defining skibidi, a word popularised in online memes, as a term which had "different meanings such as cool or bad, or can be used with no real meaning". The gibberish word was spread by a YouTube channel called "Skibidi Toilet" and is associated with the mindless, "brain rot" content found on social media and consumed by Gen Alpha's overwhelmingly digital lifestyle. The dictionary defined delulu, derived from the word delusional, as "believing things that are not real or true, usually because you choose to". As an example, it cited a 2025 speech in parliament where Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese used the phrase "delulu with no solulu". "It's not every day you get to see words like skibidi and delulu make their way into the Cambridge Dictionary," said Colin McIntosh, Lexical Programme manager at the Cambridge Dictionary. "We only add words where we think they'll have staying power. Internet culture is changing the English language and the effect is fascinating to observe and capture in the Dictionary." Other new phrases include "lewk", used to describe a unique fashion look and popularised by RuPaul's Drag Race, and "inspo", short for inspiration. Work from home culture has given rise to "mouse jiggler", referring to a way to pretend to work when you are not. There is also "forever chemical", man-made chemicals that stay in the environment for years and have gained traction as concerns grow about the irreversible impact of climate change on the health of humans and the plant.

Noel Gallagher makes dig at royal family on second night of Croke Park shows
Noel Gallagher made a brutal dig at the British royal family on the last night of their sold out Croke Park shows. The second night of the Live Forever songwriters sold out Croke Park shows has seen as much energy and interaction as night one with 80,000 fans belting out Oasis lyrics in a packed stadium. Before Noel started into Half The World Away after Talk Tonight Noel asked the crowd: "Anyone from Manchester?" But rather than some cheers, the crowd started booing, The Mirror UK reports. Shocked by the response, he added: "Excuse me, excuse me? Booing for the people in Manchester? Oh no, no, no, no, that won't do! Be nice!" As he introduced Half The World Away, he said: "This is for the Royle Family – the real Royal Family," a swipe at the House of Windsor. Ahead of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee, he said he wasn't "anti-royal" but noted that the "appeal" of the monarchy had been "dwindling". Liam was also on the receiving end of a few boos when he gave Mayo a shoutout. "Anyone here from Mayo?" Liam asked, before the crowd started booing. "F***ing booing?!" he fumed, before adding: "Charlestown? This one's for you," and started into Fade Away. The town has a significant meaning to Liam and Noel, as it's where their beloved mum, Peggy is from. Peggy is attending both Dublin concerts, having avoided the all-standing shows in Manchester, so she is able to kick back in luxury surroundings. Saturday also saw a shoutout for Charlestown, but this went down a bit better. Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news from the Irish Mirror direct to your inbox: Sign up here.
