Broncos' Gem has big contract decision looming large
The 27-year-old, known as 'Gem', is off is contract at the end of next year and on a modest salary but his manager Wade Rushton has told Wide World of Sports that the Broncos have been unable to offer him a deal beyond that.
On Tuesday, Shibasaki said his next deal was not on his mind right now. His stellar season has been founded on "staying present" and not looking too far ahead.
Other clubs will be able to field offers for Shibasaki, who is now one of the game's form centres, from November 1.
"When it comes to (November 1) I will think about that but what I have been doing is narrowing my focus to now. That has been a big part of my success so far," Shibasaki said.

He added that "the Broncos mean a lot to me" but he is expected to be offered a hefty pay increase by other clubs and financial decisions will have to be made.
"That is another thing I have got to sit down with my family and talk about," he said.
"You look at my age now and I am coming to the older side of things. I will focus on that when the time comes."
The fairytale rise of Shibasaki has been steep but there is another mountain he wants to climb.
The message from the blockbusting centre to his increasing number of fans will be music to their ears.
There's a premiership for the fifth-placed Broncos to win.
"That's been the goal since the pre-season once I did get that contract done," Shibasaki said ahead of Friday night's home clash with Parramatta.
"The next step was to play and aim for that premiership at the end of the year. We still have seven more weeks left and then finals kick in. This is the time where we knuckle down and get ready for that.
After linking with Wynnum Manly, Shibasaki started the 2025 pre-season started with no NRL contract.
He earned a train and trial deal and then a development list contract, which he is still on, then an upgrade to the top 30 for next year. Then followed an incredible Queensland call-up for the State of Origin decider where he set up a try and outplayed gun NSW opposite number Stephen Crichton.
"Origin was an unreal experience for me and my family. I'm still pinching myself now. It's about taking all that experience and bringing it back here and doing well for the rest of the season," he said.
This season Shibasaki has played 16 games in which he has scored 12 tries, made 13 line breaks and 61 tackle busts.
To put just one of those impressive statistics in perspective, that is twice as many tries as he had scored in his previous 30 NRL matches in seven seasons since debuting in 2018.

'Don't think he'll be playing': Bellamy flags further absence for Cameron Munster
Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has hinted Cameron Munster won't be playing against the Roosters after the team's five-day turnaround as he prepares to attend his father's funeral in Queensland. Munster is still grieving the loss of his father Steven, who died just days before State of Origin Game 3. Munster left State of Origin camp ahead of the decider to be with his family, but returned for the captain's run in a stoic move for his side. And the newly appointed Queensland captain was instrumental in leading his team to a historic Game 3 win. After missing his side's round 19 clash, Munster returned to the side to play the Manly Sea Eagles on Saturday in Melbourne. Unfortunately for the Storm, Manly were too good winning after a divisive penalty against Harry Grant handed Reuben Garrick a penalty to win the game. Munster got through the game fine, but his availability for the round 20 clash this Thursday night has been thrown into doubt. Melbourne have a five-day turnaround before their game against the Roosters, with both teams looking to get back to winning ways on Thursday. The Roosters dropped out of the eight after a tough loss to the Cronulla Sharks, while Melbourne dropped to third. And Bellamy claimed Munster was unlikely to line-up for the Storm as he spends time with his family. The Daily Telegraph reported Munster would need to make a mad dash to attend the funeral if he played in Sydney against the Roosters. Ponting's Test smokey blasts 200 for Aus A
Ricky Ponting put emerging star Jason Sangha's name in the Test selection mix and he duly delivered with a masterful double-hundred to come away the biggest winner of an Australia A run fest in Darwin. The second four-day match between Australia A and Sri Lanka A was called a draw halfway through the final day when Sangha reached a maiden double century. Sangha, an adopted South Australian, hit a century in the Sheffield Shield final in March and backed it up with an unbeaten 202 from 379 balls on Wednesday. The 25-year-old's haul came amid a shoutout from Ponting ahead of what looms as a crucial start to the home summer for plenty of batters with at least one opening spot up for grabs in the Ashes. 'The start of the Sheffield Shield season will be an interesting one ... I'll throw another name in that I think is a highly talented Australian batsman, that's Jason Sangha,' Ponting told the ICC Review. 'I think (Sangha is) someone whose name will probably come up at some stage as well, but there's just not many games now, not many opportunities to be able to get yourself and get your name up in front of the selectors.' Sangha made the most of batting friendly conditions, which took in 10 wickets for 1043 runs across three and a half days. The previous match in Darwin was also a draw with only three innings played across the four days. Sangha is one of many state discards who have flourished in South Australia after he was cut from New South Wales. Sangha produced a brilliant Shield season and has since emerged as a rising star of Australian cricket.
