Summer schools football championship concludes in Capital Secretariat
The Summer Schools Football Championship for district teams in the Capital Secretariat concluded on Wednesday at Al-Dharafi Stadium.
The tournament, organized by the Youth and Sports Office of the Municipality, was part of the summer activities for the year 1446 AH.
The final match was attended by Ali Hadhban, Deputy Minister of Youth for Sports Affairs, Abdullah Obaid, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the Municipality, his deputy Zaid Jahaf, and several youth and sports leaders, along with a large crowd. The match featured a strong competition between the teams of Al-Tahrir and Bani Al-Harith districts, ending in a 1-1 draw in regular time. Al-Tahrir eventually secured the title by winning on penalties.
Al-Tahrir district team was crowned champion of the tournament, which was held under the patronage of the Supreme Committee for Summer Activities and Courses, in cooperation with the Capital Municipality's Subcommittee and the Al-Shaab Social Development Foundation. The championship aimed to enhance the sports, educational, and cultural aspects of summer school students.
At the end of the match, the winning teams were honored—Al-Tahrir as champions and Bani Al-Harith as runners-up. Additionally, the winners of the cultural competition were recognized, with Al-Sab'een district team taking first place, while Al-Ma'in and Al-Wahda district teams shared second place.
