Rasna acquires RTD brand Jumpin for Rs 350 crore

Mumbai, May 19 (UNI) Rasna Pvt Ltd, the world's largest manufacturer of instant beverages, has made a significant foray into India's fast-growing ready-to-drink (RTD) segment through the acquisition of the iconic beverage brand Jumpin, independently valuated at Rs 350 crore.
Jumpin, originally launched by the Godrej Group as the first Tetrapack brand in India and popularised through memorable campaigns including those featuring Baba Sehgal since the early 1980s, was subsequently managed by Hershey's India. Now under Rasna's ownership, the brand is poised for a pan-India relaunch aimed at capturing a larger share of the RTD market, which is expected to grow substantially in the coming years.
Piruz Khambatta, Group Chairman of Rasna Pvt Ltd, said, "This strategic acquisition marks a milestone in Rasna's growth agenda. Jumpin's strong brand equity and consumer recall complement our diversification goals within the non-carbonated beverage sector. Our focus on using 100% Indian fruit juices aligns with the Government of India's 'Make in India' initiative. We aim to unlock synergies in product innovation, distribution, and market expansion, delivering high-quality, value-driven beverages to consumers nationwide."
The revamped Jumpin will be introduced in vibrant PET bottles in 250 ml, 600 ml, and 1.2 L sizes for on-the-go and family use, alongside Tetra Pak options in 125 ml, 200 ml, and 1 L packs targeting health-conscious consumers, particularly Gen Z and young families. Initial flavours include Mango, Lemon, Litchi, and Guava, with a phased rollout beginning in metropolitan and key regional markets from June.
According to IMARC Group, India's fruit juice market is projected to reach Rs 1,22,855 crore by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 11.90% during 2025-2033, driven by rising consumer preference for natural, nutrient-rich, and health-oriented beverages.
Rasna plans to position Jumpin as a fortified, ready-to-drink fruit juice rich in 10 vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, with innovations focusing on low-calorie formulations and future enhancements involving proteins and milk-based additives. This initiative aims to appeal to evolving consumer preferences while reinforcing the brand's commitment to nutrition, taste, and wellness.
Rasna Pvt Ltd is India's leading family-owned FMCG business, exporting to over 53 countries, with 12 manufacturing plants and a vast distribution network covering 1.6 million outlets nationwide. The company has earned international accolades for superior taste and quality, including the Superior Taste Award from the International Taste and Quality Institute, Belgium. UNI BDN

CM launches Vision Action Plan Units

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday virtually launched 'Vision Action Plan Unit' offices in all 26 districts and 175 Assembly constituencies with an aim to achieve the goals of Swarna Andhra 2047 vision. Addressing MPs, MLAs, District Collectors and officials virtually from the state Secretariat after the launch, Naidu stated that these units would fill a long-standing gap by providing dedicated government offices for MLAs at the constituency level. Each unit will be staffed with a nine-member team, with an allocation of Rs 10 lakh for its operational expenses. The nine-member team consists of an MLA, district nodal officer, academic person, young professional, and five vision staff. The Chief Minister, who recently unveiled Swarna Andhra 2047 vision under which the state would achieve a gross state domestic product (GSDP) of $2.4 trillion over the next two decades, urged the MPs, MLAs and officials to actively drive the implementation of this ambitious vision. He characterised the initiative as a "valuable opportunity" for MLAs, encouraging them to foster active citizen participation in the state's transformative journey. "Each Constituency Vision Action Plan Unit will be chaired by the local MLA," the Chief Minister explained. "A Special Officer will serve as executive vice-chairperson, with the local MLC, Municipal/Urban Panchayat chairperson, RDO/Sub-Collector, Tahsildar, Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO), and Municipal Commissioner as members. The MPDO will act as the convener," he added. "We drafted this vision within the first year of taking office," the CM stated, drawing a parallel with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's national 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision. To ensure comprehensive growth, the Chief Minister highlighted ten priority development sectors identified for focused attention: agriculture, dairy, fisheries, and horticulture; industries, commerce, and logistics; services sector & IT; healthcare and medical Infrastructure; education and skill development; environment and natural resource management; infrastructure – roads, water projects, housing; urban and rural development; and governance efficiency & digital governance. "These ten focus areas represent the broad canvas of our transformation agenda. Our goal is to make Andhra Pradesh a 'healthy, wealthy, and happy' state," the Chief Minister affirmed. He emphasised the need for the state to pursue not only the long-term Swarna Andhra 2047 vision but also to prepare a clear four-year action plan. A comprehensive five-year roadmap has been developed for all 26 districts, he added. The Chief Minister appreciated Union Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, who participated in the virtual launch, for coming forward to adopt 10 poor families under the P4 (Public Private People Partnership) poverty elimination programme. He urged other public representatives to follow suit and become mentors.

EAM Jaishankar interacts with Indian community in Belgium, Luxembourg

Brussels [Belgium], June 10 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar interacted with members of the Indian community in Belgium and Luxembourg, discussing the steady progress of India-Belgium ties and its engagement with the European Union. During the interaction, Jaishankar apprised the community of India's efforts to counter terrorism and promote the country's progress and prosperity. Sharing the pictures of the interaction, Jaishankar wrote, 'Great to interact with members of the Indian community of Belgium and Luxembourg. Discussed with them the steady progress of India-Belgium ties and engagement with the EU. Also apprised them of our efforts at countering terrorism and ensuring the progress & prosperity of India.' Notably, Jaishankar began his visit to Belgium on Monday by meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and combating terrorism. He appreciated Belgium's support in combating terrorism, welcomed their solidarity, and emphasised the strong momentum in the India-EU partnership, highlighting the potential for collaboration in clean energy, mobility, and pharmaceuticals. Jaishankar's visit to Brussels comes three months after Princess Astrid of Belgium led a 300-member economic mission to India. The recent visit by Princess Astrid, who met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jaishankar, discussed key areas such as labor migration, pharmaceuticals, defense, diamonds, space exploration, and green energy. Interestingly, Jaishankar's visit coincides with the detention of fugitive Indian diamantaire Mehul Choksi in a jail in Belgium. Choksi, accused of defrauding Punjab National Bank of Rs 13,850 crore, was arrested in mid-April on India's extradition request. India has an extradition treaty with Belgium, and the government is likely to pursue Choksi's extradition during the EAM's visit. Jaishankar is on an official visit to France, the European Union (EU), and Belgium from June 8 to 14, 2025, the Ministry of External Affairs announced in a press release on Sunday. (ANI)

India will have its own big four accounting giants, says Piyush Goyal

Bern [Switzerland], June 10 (ANI): India is actively working to establish its own version of the global 'Big Four' accounting and consultancy firms, as Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal expressed confidence that homegrown giants will emerge 'very soon.' Speaking to reporters in Bern on Monday, Goyal outlined the government's strategy to create large domestic accountancy firms capable of competing with international leaders Deloitte, PwC, Ernst & Young, and KPMG, which currently dominate India's consultancy landscape. 'We are trying to create our own Big Four. Earlier, the rules were not friendly - we couldn't have mergers, and our mindset was also different,' Goyal explained. 'Now, gradually, people are understanding the benefits of partnerships. We will have our big four in India very soon - wait and watch.' The minister highlighted a fundamental shift in India's approach to professional services, noting that traditional Indian CA firms previously preferred individual leadership over collaborative partnerships. This cultural change, combined with regulatory reforms, is paving the way for larger, more competitive domestic firms. Goyal emphasised India's commitment to creating a discrimination-free investment environment, positioning the country as an attractive destination for global businesses. 'India is such a country where you will never face any discrimination. Total non-discrimination is guaranteed,' he stated. He explained that foreign companies investing in India are treated as Indian entities once established, ensuring equal treatment and opportunities. 'If you come to India and invest, you become an Indian company. Once you become an Indian company, you will never feel any discrimination.' The minister contrasted India's approach with other countries that 'create unnecessary barriers and trouble the industries of other countries,' emphasising India's open and welcoming investment climate. Goyal positioned free trade agreements as crucial instruments for promoting investment, noting that India's growing reputation as a preferred investment destination is being reinforced through these strategic partnerships. The development of domestic 'Big Four' firms represents part of India's broader economic strategy to build world-class professional services capabilities while reducing dependence on foreign consultancy giants. This initiative aligns with the government's vision of creating a more self-reliant and competitive business ecosystem. Earlier in the day, he met the Chairman and Committee Members of the recently established Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Zurich Chapter. 'Met the Chairman & Committee Members of the recently established @TheICAI Zurich Chapter. Had a detailed discussion on promoting India's fintech expertise and collaboration opportunities in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance) sector, especially in the innovative startup ecosystem. Friends from the media also joined us for this interaction,' Goyal wrote on X. Goyal began his two-day Switzerland visit with an interaction with CEOs of select Swiss companies and prospective investors in India over lunch on Monday. (ANI)
