TAMBUNAN: Program Pembangunan Pesona Unduk Ngadau 2025 proves that beauty is not just skin deep. The contestants also put emphasis on identity, cultural understanding and confidence in being the voice of the community. Chairperson of the Tambunan Kaamatan Unduk Ngadau Committee, Puan Saldivilla, said the programme is part of the committee's ongoing efforts to increase the capacity and potential of Unduk Ngadau participants each year. 'We appreciate the close cooperation provided by the Tambunan Community College in making the programme a success. 'It also opens up new opportunities for the finalists to be better prepared not only in terms of appearance, but also in terms of intellectual and cultural aspects,' she said at the two-day programme held at the Community College, here, recently. She said 17 finalists of the Tambunan District Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan have successfully completed the program themed 'Jati, Jiwa, Jelita' as a result of the collaboration between the Tambunan Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan Committee and the Tambunan Community College through the Lifelong Learning Unit. Saldivilla said the programme aims to strengthen the finalists' confidence, public speaking and cultural understanding in preparation for the district-level Unduk Ngadau competition. 'Among the main contents of the programme include a Public Speaking Workshop in the Mother Tongue, and Introduction to Traditional Clothing of the Tambunan District session. 'The programme is conducted by a line-up of experienced speakers and facilitators, including Datuk Joanna Kitingan, Ts Jean Ivy Denis Gompion and Velter Jailih,' she said. The programme, which was also attended by the Deputy Director of Tambunan Community College, Safary Samat, was officiated by the Assistant District Officer (Development), Willibrod Datuk Martin Idang representing the District Officer Sobitun Makajil. AUBURN: Some 30 Sabahans from across the United States gathered here, recently, for the fifth annual North Borneo Sabahan Abroad Kaamatan Celebration, maintaining cultural traditions thousands of miles from home. "US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, on June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada for immigration violations," the ICE said in a statement to Agence France-Presse. Advertisement According to authorities, Lame entered the United States on April 30, but it turned out that he had overstayed his visa. The blogger was released on the day of his detention, after which he voluntarily left the country. Lame is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and one of the most popular TikTok influencers, with more than 162 million followers. No travel ban on Fahmi Reza, IGP confirms

He said Fahmi Reza's name was included in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) movement monitoring list for internal record and reference purposes due to ongoing investigations involving him. Advertisement 'However, it must be emphasised that this list does not imply any restrictions but is part of the standard monitoring procedures implemented by the authorities,' he said in a statement today. Razarudin said the confusion occurred during the exit clearance process yesterday, resulting in the erroneous issuance of a movement restriction order, adding that the matter is being reviewed with appropriate steps to be taken to refine existing procedures. 'PDRM remains committed to protecting and respecting the freedom of movement of every Malaysian, and the individual concerned is free to travel in and out of the country as usual, subject to any regulations set by the Immigration Department and other relevant laws,' he said.
