Brittney Griner 'can't remember' what she said in the viral clip after she fouled out against the Indiana Fever last month - but she knows it wasn't a racist slur.
After taking her seat on the sideline at State Farm Arena, TV cameras spotted a furious Griner ranting in frustration, with viewers torn on what the Atlanta Dream star said.
The 34-year-old first appeared to say 'trash' at the end of a sentence before pausing and continuing her tirade, with a number of users on X alleging that she said 'f***ing white girl' in a racist insult aimed towards Fever sensation Caitlin Clark.
Others, however, were adamant that she did not use those words on the night, insisting she was actually moaning that the referee had made a 'f***ing wack call' by penalizing her for the sixth time in the game.
A few weeks on, Griner has vehemently denied using a racist slur after finally speaking out on the video, despite not remembering exactly what she said.
When asked by Outkick reporter Dan Zaksheske if it was possible that she said 'f***ing white girl', the Dream center insisted: 'No, I would never say that. There's no place for that in our league, I wouldn't say that. I was mad about a call.
After the game, I asked Brittney Griner if it was possible that she said "f***ing white girl" after fouling out against the Indiana Fever, even though she couldn't remember what she said.

Alongside a clip of the rant, Riley Gaines - who has become a leading conservative voice in recent years - condemned Griner over the alleged racist remark in a post on X.
'Just a reminder: this is who we traded for the Russian Merchant of Death,' Gainers wrote. 'Now imagine if Clark had said the inverse.'
Griner, of course, missed the 2022 season when she was detained for nearly 10 months in Russia after authorities said a search of her luggage revealed vape cartridges containing oil derived from cannabis, before she was freed in a prisoner swap.
One person who didn't agree with Gaines' take on the video of Griner was ex-ESPN host Jemele Hill, who took to social media to hit back at the ex-swimmer.
Hill responded: 'I get that your whole personality is caught up in stuff like this, so you don't care about spreading misinformation.
'1) the foul call made on her had nothing to do with Caitlin Clark. It was because she fouled Natasha Howard.

Armed Minnesota politician ‘killer' Vance Boelter ‘crawled' to cops as clumsy move busted his cover after 2-day manhunt
CHILLING details about the arrest of the man accused of shooting two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses have been revealed. Vance Boelter, 57, was captured on Sunday night after a two-day manhunt that launched after he killed Minnesota representative Melissa Hortman in a "targeted attack," cops said. 13 13 13 Boelter allegedly fatally shot Hortman and her husband early Saturday morning after attacking state Senator John Hoffman and his wife at their home. After the gunman was on the loose over the weekend, prompting an emergency alert telling Sibley County residents to lock their doors, Boelter was arrested on Sunday night in the woods near his house. Cops surrounded Boelter and called him out, Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley said at a press conference after the arrest. Boelter then "crawled to law enforcement teams and was placed under arrest at that point in time,' Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Col. Jeremy Geiger said. SWAT teams and other members of law enforcement had shut down roads and surrounded a property off Highway 25 between Green Isle and Belle Pointe where they found a vehicle connected to Boelter. Lying on the road, they also found the cowboy hat Boelter was last seen wearing in CCTV footage from the Twin Cities area. Hours after the double shooting, Boelter sent his roommate a string of chilling text messages where he said, "I may be dead shortly." "I made some choices, and you guys don't know anything about this, but I'm going to be gone for a while," he said to his friends David and Ron. "May be dead shortly, so I just want to let you know I love you guys both and I wish it hadn't gone this way." He had last been seen in the Twin Cities area on Saturday morning wearing a cowboy hat, a dark long-sleeved shirt and light pants as officials feared he was preparing to flee. His wife, Jenny Boelter, was later detained after a traffic stop when cops found she was carrying weapons, cash, and passports. She was stopped and questioned by police while she was driving with several relatives near Onamia, Minnesota around 10 am on Saturday. Cops reportedly held her for questioning but she was not arrested. The couple used to run the Praetorian Guard Security company. NIGHT OF TERROR Cops named the 57-year-old as a suspect on June 14 after shootings were reported at the homes of Hortman and Senator John Hoffman in the early hours of the morning. Both Hortman and her husband Mark were pronounced dead at their home in Brooklyn Park. Hoffman and his wife Yvette underwent surgery after suffering multiple gunshot wounds at their residence in Champlin just five miles away from the Hortmans. Officials said they are "cautiously optimistic" that the pair will survive what Governor Tim Walz called an "unspeakable tragedy" and a "politically motivated assassination." The Hoffman's nephew revealed that the couple had been shot 11 times during the horror attack. He shared in a Facebook post how his aunt Yvette had thrown herself on top of her daughter to protect her. The first shooting was reported at the Senator's home just after 2 am and while cops were attending the incident, the second shooting was being carried out at the Hortman's home. 13 13 13 13 13 At 3:35 am the second call came in as officers who were sent to check in on the DFL speaker, ran into the gunman posing as a police officer, and exchanged fire with him before he fled. A release by the agency on Saturday night revealed that while posing as a police officer, Boelter had donned a creepy latex mask before allegedly shooting and killing Hortman and her husband. Mom accused of killing 8-month-old son by putting him in scalding bathwater because she was mad over dirty diaper
A Texas mom has been accused of killing her 8-month-old baby after putting him in scalding hot bathwater because she was angry he had a dirty diaper. Jatoria Renae Cleamons, 21, is facing charges of injury to a child and manslaughter in the death of her infant son, KSLA reported. Deputies with the Bowie County Sheriff's Office were called to her Texarkana, Texas, home on Feb. 4 to assist with a medical call. When authorities arrived, they found EMS performing CPR on an 8-month-old baby. Cleamons allegedly admitted to investigators that she had placed her baby in scalding hot bathwater, causing him severe burns to the skin while bathing him. She also apparently told police that she had done so because she was frustrated that her son had pooped in his diaper. The infant died approximately two weeks after the incident, while Cleamons was staying with a relative in Hooks, Texas, according to officials with the local police department. After the infant died, Justice of the Peace Jay Wommack ordered he be sent to the Southwest Institute of Forensics for an autopsy. His autopsy result listed the cause of death as thermal injuries (scalding). The manner of death was listed as homicide, according to KSLA. Multiple agencies were involved in a coordinated investigation into the baby's death, including officers from Hooks Police Department, investigators with the Bowtie County District Attorney's Office and investigators with the Texarkana Texas Police Department.

How Prince Harry's wild Las Vegas night with Ryan Lochte ended in scandal
When Prince Harry and Ryan Lochte descended on the Las Vegas strip - with bikini-clad models and gallons of alcohol - scandal was sure to follow. The star swimmer had taken a month out of the water after dominating the London Olympics with two gold medals. He headed straight for Sin City that August for a belated birthday party, after turning 28 during the Games. He once told Kelly Osborne: 'I went with my friends, I just wanted to relax and have some downtime.' But what he wasn't counting on was bumping into Prince Harry, who'd also fled to the Strip for a recharge after representing the Royal Family as an Olympic ambassador. The then 27-year-old had been showered in praise for his maturity during the huge event - but that quickly changed after his run-in with Lochte. So when the Prince went largely unnoticed by revelers at a party hosted by Jennifer Lopez the night before meeting Ryan, he would have been forgiven for thinking the old saying of 'what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas' really was true. As J-Lo walked the red carpet at the afternoon event, hours before playing a show, Harry threw a beachball around in a pool with friends without anyone looking twice at him, even in his baggy red Bermuda shorts. The following night, they were at the luxurious Wynn Hotel and had been drinking since waking up. At around 2am, the Prince spotted Lochte, either recognizing him from his London heroics or noticing all the women that had surrounded his table. 'I curled into the corner of a leather banquette and watched a procession of young women come and go,' Harry recalled of the night in his autobiography Spare, which didn't mention Lochte. Soon enough, the swimmer and his friends were interrupted, approached by a man none of them knew. 'Prince Harry is here,' he told Lochte. 'You want to meet him?' The following night, they were at the luxurious Wynn hotel and had been drinking since waking up. Ryan said: 'Let's go!' accepting immediately. For a man whose life revolved around being number one, he was left thrilled to be in demand from royalty. He would later tell the Daily Mail: 'It was a huge honor to meet him. He's a great guy.' But after a little bit of mingling, Harry stopped Lochte from leaving. 'I was like, "Alright, I'm going to head back to my table with my friends, it was nice meeting you," and he was like, "Wait,"' Lochte said. 'He was like, "You want to get in the pool and race me? Right now?"' Lochte couldn't say no. He had just beaten the great Michael Phelps to win gold in the 400-meter individual medley in London. Why not add Prince Harry to the list? With music blasting, Harry whipped his top off and jumped in before Lochte followed, joining the groups of guys and girls who had also taken the party into the early hours. The crowds split either side of the duo to form a faint 10-meter racetrack. A girl in a bikini waited at the end to mark the finish line. Ryan admitted: 'Watching him swim, he does have good form. I was surprised. But of course, I won.' Ryan also previously told the Daily Mail of the race: 'He was a great competitor but in the end it was Team USA all the way! 'I was surprised that he challenged me. I didn't know if he had any skills in the pool but I definitely wasn't going to take it easy on him.' Surrounded by admirers, the pair stayed in the water to soak up the attention - Harry never did find his shirt again. They left the venue at around 4:30am, splitting the party in two and taking it back to their respective hotel rooms. But after a long day of drinking, only one of them was smart enough to keep the following antics behind closed doors. While Ryan confiscated the phones of those who joined him back at his hotel, Prince Harry was covertly pictured in his VIP suite by a guest, playing strip pool, naked with a scantily-clad woman next to him. Harry wrote of that day in Spare: 'We ordered breakfast, Bloody Marys. It was pool-party season in Vegas, so a big blowout was raging. 'My mates invited four or five women who worked at the hotel to join us (at the end of the night), along with two women they'd met at the blackjack tables... They looked dodgy.' After playing pool with his bodyguards, Harry admits he 'suggested we up the stakes' with strip pool. He continued: 'I was the big loser, reduced to my skivvies. Then I lost my skivvies. It was harmless, silly, or so I thought. Until the next day. 'Standing outside the hotel in the blinding desert sun I turned and saw one of my mates staring at his phone, his mouth falling open. 'I was naked before the eyes of the world. I berated myself. How had I been so stupid? Why had I trusted other people? 'I'd counted on those dodgy girls to show some basic decency and now I was going to pay the price forever. Those photos would never go away. 'My sense of guilt and shame made it hard at moments to draw a clean breath.' Ryan told Inside Edition: 'It could happen to anyone. I just tried my best to make sure that no cameras came in (to my party).' It sparked major humiliation for Harry and the Royal Family, just weeks after starring at the Olympics alongside his brother, William, and sister-in-law Kate. The late Robin Leach, a veteran entertainment columnist for the Las Vegas Sun, wrote at the time: 'That's why people come to Vegas. To let their hair down and behave badly.' Ryan said he didn't get an invite from the Prince to his suite: 'He never said anything like that. After our race, we went our separate ways.' A year later, the athlete would describe his encounter with Harry as 'a one-time thing.' It is thought that the pair haven't met again. Weeks after the shock pictures of Harry emerged, he was back serving with the army in Afghanistan as part of a 20-week deployment that ended in 2013. Certainly for Harry in the following years, the optics of being pictured with Ryan would have served as a reminder of a night where he ended up tarnishing his family's reputation. The swimmer eventually got back in the pool - he joked in one interview that racing Harry reignited a competitive streak inside of him - and headed to the Rio Olympics in 2016, where he was embroiled in his own needless controversy. Ryan, along with fellow USA swimmers Gunnar Bents, Jack Conger, and Jimmy Feigen, fabricated a story about being robbed at gunpoint by thugs posing as cops in Rio. The story unraveled spectacularly in front of a global audience. The scandal did major damage to Ryan's credibility and he lost sponsorship deals with Speedo and Ralph Lauren. He was also charged in Brazil with falsely reporting a crime but a judge threw the case out in July 2017. Whether he broke a law or not, for Harry it would have been another stark reason not to rekindle the friendship.
