This is Zarif Ghazzi, the young and talented actor who, at the age of 21, is already burning the tracks in the acting world
Making his entry into acting immediately after his studies, Zarif won plaudits when he was among the lead stars for top local drama series "Antara Dua Syurga" and "Berbahag Suami".
He stole the show when he was announced as the "hottest newcomer (Selebriti Newcomer Terhangat)" at the Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2025 (AMT2025) this year.
But what made it an even more amazing day for the youngster was that he got all 100% per cent votes for the title, thus upstaging many other well-known and more experienced winners at the starry event.
Winning the award also meant that the young star was crowning himself as the most prominent and influential new face of the year in the local acting industry.
"I'm still surprised, honestly. In fact, in a daze. I take this as a blessing for my young career. I'm so thankful for all the votes. It is just amazing, I got 100% of the votes. This is indeed a very, very big honour," said
"My journey in the industry is still long, and there are still many more characters that I need to improve and present to the fans. I am very grateful. Thank you to TV3 for opening up space and giving me a platform to be known, and most importantly, to the fans who voted non-stop and believed in me from the beginning.
"This victory belongs to all of you. This is just the beginning, I promise to continue to work hard and give my best," said Zarif.
The young man from Johor has acted in many TV series already, and that includes top productions like "Khunsa, Isteri Halal, and Persis Boneka." This year, he is already down as one of the leads in "Seribu Tahun," an Astro production that had many followers.
Many fans and entertainment experts also believe that the talented actor is exactly the down-to-earth type that can breath new standards for the entertainment industry in the country.
In the press release from the event, Melodi also stated that Zarif is a young star to watch in the future, and many believe he is the face of the future for the industry.
"Zarif's victory is the beginning of a more glorious journey. We will certainly continue to see more successes from Zarif in the future," the statement said.
The young actor also seems to be grounded in his blossoming career.
"On the part of career, I just hope the journey is a long one. I hope to learn and improve. I also want time to further my studies. I'm in no hurry to be a superstar or anything of that sort. Not now anyway. There is no rush. I have time, and I just want to make the most of every minute of it," said the young and talented but humble Zarif.
Zarif was among the star winners during the event that included Daiyan Trisha (who bagged the top award of the night) and also the starry couple Bella Astillah and Syed Saddiq, together with top stars such as Rosyam Nor and Siti Saleha.

In the video, Gillian and her staff members visited Alor Street and dined at a local Chinese restaurant. The star also revealed that she has dined at the restaurant many times, hinting that the food there is good. The next scene then shows a table full of dishes, including grilled stingray, satay, and grilled chicken wings. After inviting the crowd to dine in, Gillian then devoured the dishes without hesitation. While there were many food choices on the table, the singer said her favourite was the grilled chicken wings. However, Gillian's food diary didn't stop there. Upon returning to her hotel room, the star's staff members surprised her with a Roti Tisu tower that was half her height. While the 44-year-old was unsure at first, she grabbed a small piece for her first try of the iconic Malaysian dish. Immediately after tasting the Roti Tisu, Gillian's face lit up and she exclaimed, 'That tastes so good!'. She then went in for a second bite, showing her approval of the dish. In the comments, fans expressed glee over Gillian's food vlog, saying they enjoy seeing her eat with gusto. Some also cooed over her cute expressions while eating her chicken wings and trying the Roti Tisu. Fans also praised her beauty and youthful looks, noting that she looked like she could be in her twenties. #SHOWBIZ: Hot night at TV3's AMT 2025
DESPITE suffering a wardrobe malfunction and having to rush from the airport, actress and singer Daiyan Trisha said her efforts were worth it after she scooped the Ultimate Award and the Selebriti Stailo Terhangat award at the recent Anugerah Melodi Terhangat 2025. The Ultimate Award honours the year's most influential public figure based on their positive impact, viral moments, and public engagement across social and digital platforms. "My fans had been voting every day, so this win is for them," she said when met after the show. "I'm very happy to also win the Selebriti Stailo Terhangat category. I take my appearance and style very seriously. I do get tired of having to look like this all the time, though. For instance, today I had just arrived from Bangkok," she added. Daiyan explained that her attendance was also to show appreciation for her fans' efforts and hoped it would add to the evening's excitement. "I truly appreciate the fans who voted diligently. They don't care about the controversy surrounding me. They understand. I'm used to the criticisms by now. "I accept and understand them because that's what you have to face as a public figure. I'm human. I've learnt to put these criticisms aside and focus on my career," she said. My character was very much hated and criticised," he said. According to him, it was halfway through the drama that the audience finally understood the message. "Fans couldn't accept it at first, but in the end, they said what I did was right. It was a success in my acting career, which received 1.2 billion comments (on platform X) and was watched by 11 million people on TV3. "This is huge, considering an actor my age. Nowadays, it's really important for an actor to go viral on social media," he said, admitting that he once felt a similar response when he acted in the film 'KL Gangster 2' 15 years ago. Other winners included Bella Astillah and Syed Saddiq, who were awarded the Selebriti Couple Goals Terhangat Award, staying true to fan predictions. The duo, affectionately dubbed "BASS" by fans, captured the public's attention with their potent chemistry both online and in person. Meanwhile, Che Puan Sarimah Ibrahim won the Selebriti Drama Sangat Terhangat Award, acknowledging her captivating comeback on screen. Siti Saleha was honoured with the Selebriti Ikon Terhangat Award, and Zarif Ghazzi, a breakout star, was crowned Selebriti Newcomer Terhangat.
