Major road closures in Petaling Jaya this weekend for PJ Half Marathon 2025
Preparations for the event begin tomorrow at 6pm, with Jalan Yong Shook Lin in front of MBPJ closed until noon on Sunday.
Motorists are encouraged to use Jalan Barat for access to Section 14 and Seapark, and Jalan 222 for central areas.
On race day, from 3.30am to 9am, roads across the city will see rolling closures to make way for runners.
Affected roads include Jalan Sultan, Jalan Barat, Jalan Utara, Jalan Timur, Jalan Gasing, Jalan Templer, and Jalan Changgai, among others.
Motorists travelling along Jalan Universiti, Jalan Kemajuan, and Persiaran Barat should also expect delays.
Smaller connecting streets like Jalan SS1/36, Jalan 20/13, and Jalan 14/47 will also be closed.
Traffic police and MBPJ personnel will be on duty to manage the flow and guide drivers through diversions.
Authorities have reminded the public to follow traffic police instructions for a smooth and safe event.

Former national hockey player Arrifin Mohd Ghani is new sports commissioner
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15 — Former national hockey player Arrifin Mohd Ghani has been appointed as the new Sports Commissioner (PJS) effective today, on a two-year contract. The appointment, announced by the Sports Commissioner's Office via its official Facebook page, sees Arrifin succeeding Datuk Suhardi Alias. A national player from 1989 to 1993, Arrifin previously served with the National Sports Council (MSN). He is a law graduate and was recognised as a Sports Alumni Icon by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). He is also the second former national athlete to be appointed to the post, after Datuk Zaiton Othman in 1982. Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh congratulated Arrifin on his appointment, expressing confidence in his capabilities. Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun eye stronger run at World Badminton Championships
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15 — National men's doubles player, Man Wei Chong admitted that he and his partner Tee Kai Wun are in better physical condition to participate in this year's World Badminton Championships which will be held in Paris, France from August 25-31. He said that compared to the inaugural edition he participated in in 2023, he feels they are now more prepared and hope to do better by aiming to bring home a medal for Malaysia. 'If you compare the last two years, this year's performance has improved a bit. Although not much, it is better than the last two years. 'So hopefully we can do our best than before,' he told reporters after the national badminton team's training session at the Badminton Academy Malaysia (ABM) today. Meanwhile, Wei Chong, when asked about his draw with Kai Wun in the tournament, admitted that being placed as the seeded pair gave them a slight advantage when they would not be playing in the first round. However, he said that did not mean they could be complacent given that there were several great names they had to fight if they wanted to go further. 'I think our first round was good because we started in the round of 64 and after that we might face the French pair, Toma Junior Popov-Christo Popov. They are also quite strong and it is not certain that they can win again, playing at home. So we really hope to be able to perform later,' he said.
