James Bond legend, 85, clings to walker alongside nurse just days after famous ex-wife reveals dementia battle
George Lazenby, 85, appeared frail as he relied on a walker during a sunny afternoon outing, with a nursing aide staying close by his side.
It's been over 50 years since Lazenby suited up as James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service — his lone turn as the iconic spy— but the former heartthrob still managed to flash that old-school charm with a quick smile.
Dressed in a light blue polo and black pants, the Golden Globe-nominated actor kept a careful pace, even leaning on his nurse at one point as he made his way down the sidewalk.
The rare sighting comes after Lazenby's ex-wife, Wimbledon champion Pam Shriver, 63—who divorced the actor in 2008 after six years of marriage—penned a deeply personal essay about reuniting with Lazenby and stepping in as his caregiver as he 'enters the last phase of his life.'
'George is 85 now, and he has dementia, but he is still very much himself. A softer version of himself, perhaps – and this is the key,' she wrote for The Telegraph.

Pam and George first met at Wimbledon in 2000 and married two years later, when she was 40 and he was 63.
They went on to have three children before finalizing their divorce in 2011, citing irreconcilable differences.
However, their split was far from amicable.
'I won't pretend that it was anything less than horrific,' Pam admitted in the essay, adding, 'We didn't speak for two years.'
But over time, the former couple managed to put their rocky past behind them, especially as they now co-parent their children and face George's health decline together.
According to Shriver, the turning point came in January 2025, when the Los Angeles wildfires nearly trapped her ex.
'There was a moment, earlier this year, when he was caught up in the Los Angeles wildfires and only made it out by a whisker,''she wrote. 'That day, I realized how much he still means to me.'
'As George enters the last phase of his life,' she continued, 'I just want to extend this late period of reconciliation and renewal for as long as I can.'

Lazenby played James Bond in the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, stepping into the role after Sean Connery's initial departure
Despite having no major acting experience, the Australian model landed the part with a bold audition — even wearing a Rolex and Savile Row suit to appear the part
The film earned strong reviews and has since gained cult status, but Lazenby famously turned down a seven-film contract, walking away from the franchise
'I did the best I could,' he said in Mark Edlitz's 2019 book The Many Lives of James Bond. 'I felt that I had to copy Sean Connery in a sense'
Now, the pair have settled into a quiet routine.
'We go for walks together, chatting about the kids and all the little anxieties which anyone with an older relative will recognise,' she shared.
'His dementia affects his short-term memory, but he tells stories about his younger days... climbing on to the boat to London in 1964 with just a few dollars in his pocket. Chasing the girl who left Canberra because her father did not want her associating with this guy from the wrong side of the tracks.'
She added, 'Now we have settled into a routine where I try to spend at least an hour with George every day when I am at home.
'It does not matter if the Tennis Channel shows the same matches all the time because he doesn't remember the details.'
Though his stint as Bond was short—just one film between Sean Connery's You Only Live Twice and Live and Let Die—Lazenby's impact as the only 007 to walk away from the role remains legendary.
As Pam recalled, 'He enjoyed all the high jinks he got up to during the nine-month filming of On Her Majesty's Secret Service: the boozing, the weed-smoking, the assignations with various members of the cast.'
But not everything about being Bond came easy.

'He also found it difficult to deal with all the expectations that went with a role of that size,' she wrote.
'He grew a beard for the premiere, just to annoy his bosses. And then, when they offered him £1 million to sign up for another six movies, he walked away.'
Looking back, Lazenby himself was modest about his 007 debut.

Bikini-clad Jessica Alba takes a break from hot romance as she spends time with family in Miami
Jessica Alba may be enjoying a new romance with a hunky actor 11 years her junior but that hasn't stopped her from spending quality time with the most important people in her life. The 44-year-old mogul showcased her stunning figure in a bikini as she enjoyed a family vacation in Miami on Monday. The gorgeous mother of three — who filed for divorce from her longtime husband Cash Warren earlier this year after 16 years of marriage — hit the beach with seven-year-old son Hayes as they walked hand-in-hand on the sand. Jessica was on the prowl in a leopard patterned bikini top along with a black mini skirt cover up and matching sandals. She accessorized with a black baseball cap with designer shades and small beach bag. The veteran actress pulled back her hair in two ponytails under the headwear as she showcased her natural looks by wearing minimal make-up. In addition to Hayes, Jessica also shares two teenage daughters; Honor, 17, and 13-year-old Haven with ex Cash. This came just weeks after her hot summer romance came to light. This comes shortly after she sparked romance rumors after sightings with the hunky Top Gun actor Danny Ramirez in Cancun in late July. At the time, Alba was spotted with the hunky actor Danny, who turns 33 in September, while boarding a plane to Cancun — before returning back to LA together on Sunday. Their sighting comes two months after she was spotted 'kissing' a mystery man in London, though it remains unclear if that was Ramirez. The Marvel actress, who plays Sue Storm while Ramirez plays the new Falcon in the MCU, previously announced her split from her husband in January after nearly two decades of marriage and welcoming three children together. Ramirez previously starred in Top Gun: Maverick as Lieutenant Mickey Garcia and is currently in the midst of filming Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to drop December 18, 2026. Earlier in the month, it was reported that Alba is not dating anyone 'seriously' and is just enjoying single life following her divorce. 'She's been getting a lot of attention since the divorce,' a source told People on Monday. 'She's flattered and definitely enjoying being single again.' The insider also added: 'She's gone on some dates, but it's nothing serious. She's focused on herself and her kids. She's not interested in a relationship right now.' The actress is 'excited to be getting back into acting and is looking forward to working with Orlando Bloom on their new project The Mark — with the source revealing that she once called him 'charming.' 'She's in a great place. She's excited to get back to filming. She's doing what she loves and keeping her circle tight,' the source told the outlet. Earlier this year, she announced her split with Warren in a note to her fans. 'I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,' she wrote. 'I'm proud of how we've grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals. 'We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time.'

Caitlin Clark scolds Indiana Fever teammates as they beg for swimsuit endorsement deal
Caitlin Clark didn't have much patience for her sunbathing Indiana Fever teammates before Tuesday's loss in Los Angeles. With the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year nursing a groin injury, Fever teammates Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull spent their pre-game poolside, where they solicited swimsuit endorsement deals on TikTok. 'We are off to our game tonight,' read the post on Cunningham's page. 'Convince us there's a swimsuit brand that wants to partner with two Indiana Fever mermaids.' Cunningham and Hull sported black bikinis in the short clip, garnering a wave of responses online, including a scathingly funny comment from Clark. 'Swimsuit brands,' Clark wrote, 'plz comment 'focus on basketball.' Then, after giving swimsuit brands ample time to make an offer, Clark went in for the kill: 'And no one responds.' Unfortunately for the Fever, the rest of their Tuesday in Los Angeles wasn't any better. Not only did they lose to the Sparks, 100-91, but the defeat was briefly interrupted by yet another sex toy being thrown onto the court by a hostile spectator. Tuesday's incident in LA followed similar interruptions in Chicago and suburban Atlanta, where one man has been arrested for allegedly throwing sex toys at WNBA games. Cunningham previously warned fans against throwing sex toys onto the court, only to have the projectile slid into her foot during the second quarter of Tuesday's loss. 'No way that thing actually hit me,' an embarrassed Cunningham wrote on social media, adding: 'I knew I shouldn't have tweeted that.' Cunningham also addressed the disturbing trend in her 'Show Me Something' podcast. 'I was thinking about like, if someone threw that thing and like, first of all, the bounce that that thing had, if that smacks someone in the face, you know that's gonna be plastered everywhere,' Cunningham said. 'I just know how things go viral now. And I just know that thing like, even came from like the rafters or bounced and just slapped me right in the face. That would be what I'd be known for, for life. So I was just trying to protect all of our images.' After giving swimsuit brands ample time to make an offer, Clark went in for the kill Meanwhile, a Georgia man arrested for allegedly throwing sex toys onto the floor of two WNBA games last week was publicly identified Tuesday after being booked on multiple charges in an Atlanta suburb. Delbert Carver, 23, was released from Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro on Sunday one day after being charged with disorderly conduct, public indecency/indecent exposure, and criminal trespass, according to online records. Police say he was arrested after throwing a sex toy onto the court during the Atlanta Dream's win over the visiting Phoenix Mercury on Friday. He also allegedly confessed to police that he was involved in a similar incident in Atlanta's July 29 loss to the visiting Golden State Valkyries - a shocking moment that went viral last week and appears to have inspired copycats in Chicago and Los Angeles . Carver was allegedly live streaming Friday's incident in Atlanta before being apprehended.

DHS sparks confusion by adopting socialist anthem for latest video: ‘He's writing about cops and vigilantes'
The Department of Homeland Security is facing criticism for using Woody Guthrie 's famous 1940 folk song 'This Land Is Your Land' in a promotional video. The song appears in a July 30 clip from the agency on X, soundtracking a video featuring scenes of natural beauty, families, and federal agents, plus the caption, 'The Promise of America is worth Protecting. The Future of our Homeland is worth Defending.' Experts on Guthrie say the singer — a lifelong socialist who wrote songs about topics like immigrant farmworkers and decorated his guitar with the slogan, 'This machine kills fascists' — was not intending to write an anthem for an agency carrying out mass deportations. Instead, Guthrie biographer Will Kaufman told CNN, the song reflects Guthrie's preoccupation with the inequality, poverty, and violence that took place during the 1930s in America in the wake of the Depression. 'Woody is writing about a different America,' he said. 'He's writing about cops and vigilantes and barbed wire and bread lines.' 'Boy, did the DHS ever get it wrong!' the Guthrie family added in an email to the outlet. 'So now, it looks like we'll all have to sing 'This Land Is Your Land' right back at 'em, so they can re-learn it and get it right.' Though the song has gone on to be considered a generic pro-U.S.A. anthem, it was originally written in part out of Guthrie's annoyance with another patriotic tune, 'God Bless America.' The original versions of 'This Land Is Your Land' also feature lesser-remembered verses about people who 'stood hungry,' as well as a line that called out a sign bearing the words 'private property' or ' no trespassing,' depending on which iteration was being sung. Later in life, Guthrie wrote a song calling out Donald Trump's father, Fred Trump, for 'racial hate,' over the real estate developer's alleged history of racial discrimination towards potential tenants. The concern over DHS's use of Guthrie's music mirrors the response from artists and their families who have seen their paintings used in DHS social media efforts. As The Independent has reported, the agency has used nostalgic images of the Western frontier and small-town, midcentury America in between touting its military-style immigration raids, a combination one observer said was 'classic fascist propaganda.' The agency has also faced backlash for using memes like the Jet2 Holiday sound and AI-images to promote its deportation campaign.
