Strictly Come Dancing's Nadiya's future revealed as she breaks silence on fall
The star was training in north London on Tuesday lunchtime when she was left in agony after injuring herself, with an ambulance being called. An insider told us: "It looked pretty nasty and no-one was taking any chances. The Strictly crew rushed into action and she was stretchered out," with a source close to Strictly adding that rehearsals continued.
"As a precaution, following a fall during rehearsals, Nadiya was taken to hospital for checks and is receiving full support from medical and welfare teams. Rehearsals continue and the Strictly team are in close contact with Nadiya," the source said. It comes after a Strictly Come Dancing star pulled out of the show as he made a career announcement.
Nadiya has now broken her silence following the horror fall and explained how "scary" it had all been. Fans had been worried about whether she could continue in the competition, which kicks off in a matter of weeks.
She wrote on social media: "Well… where do I start? What a 24 hours! Thank you so much for all the messages, love and support. I just wanted you to know that I am ok. I had a fall in training yesterday and landed on my back.
"I was really worried for a while and I was so thankful to the Strictly family and medical team who really looked after me. The staff at the hospital were so kind and caring. I'm smiling in the picture but it was really scary and there were a few tears as I had to lie still for hours but I was given the all-clear after an x-ray and allowed to go home."
Giving an update, she added: "I've got some physio today but I will be back on that dance floor soon and I'll be ready to shine and sparkle in the new series of the biggest show on TV. I can't wait for you to see it. Keep dancing!"
Nadiya horrified Strictly fans when they learned of her fall - but it looks like she will be ok and will be able to dance this series.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 12:37pm on Tuesday 12 August to reports of an incident at Regent's Park Road, NW1. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and treated one person before taking them to hospital".

It is understood that detectives from the Met Police are examining other allegations relating to the telly ballroom hit, which has been rocked by a string of controversies. Our latest shock revelation comes as the BBC prepares to launch Strictly's 23rd series next month - after officially announcing the line-up of celebrities including reality TV star Dani Dyer. A source told The Sun on Sunday: 'It's a significant new development in the BBC's recent string of crises that they have now got the police involved in investigating allegations surrounding Strictly. "This is a very dramatic turn of events. 'Despite all the show and its team have been through over recent months, it's hugely controversial that you've now got Scotland Yard detectives probing Strictly.
