Police issue Silver Alert for missing 78-year-old Woodbine man
HOWARD COUNTY, Md. () — Howard County police are asking for the community's help in locating a 78-year-old Woodbine man who was last seen Friday morning.
In a news release, the Howard County Police Department said Maryland State Police have issued a Silver Alert for Bruno Rudaitis, who was last seen leaving his home in the 15500 block of Foxpaw Trail at around 11 a.m. on May 30.
Police said Rudaitis drove off in his 2007 silver Hyundai Sonata, with tags MD/5FAN69. A family member reported him missing at 8:45 p.m. when he had not come back home and couldn't be reached by phone.

MSP issued a Silver Alert for Rudaitis over concerns regarding his health and well-being. Police described him as around 5 feet 11 inches tall at around 172 lbs. It is unclear what he was wearing when he left his home or in which direction he traveled.
Police urge anyone who sees Rudaitis or his car to call 911.

Man dies after being hit by SUV on Route 301 in Charles County, police say
CHARLES COUNTY, Md. () — A 44-year-old man died after he was hit by a car while trying to cross U.S. Route 301 (Crain Highway) in Charles County on Friday, according to police. Just before 2 p.m., troopers from Maryland State Police and deputies from the Charles County Sheriff's Office responded to U.S. Route 301 just north of Smallwood Drive for a serious collision involving a vehicle. Prince George's County man arrested on child pornography charges
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. () — A Prince George's County man is facing several charges related to the production, possession, and viewing of child pornography, police said Friday. Maryland State Police (MSP) arrested Edwin Antonio Valdez Olivar, 41, of Beltsville, on Thursday following an investigation from MSP's Computer Crimes Unit, a task force focusing on using the internet to identify those involved in child pornography. Through the investigation, which began in December 2024, troopers discovered that Olivar was receiving photos and images depicting child pornography on his cell phone, according to MSP. Man dead after mid-morning shooting in Prince George's County On May 29, troopers from the Computer Crimes Unit and the College Park Barrack, along with officers from the Prince George's County Police Department and agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at Olivar's home in Beltsville, promptly arresting him. Authorities charged Olivar with seven counts of possession of child pornography, seven counts of accessing and viewing child pornography, and seven felony counts of charges related to causing the production of child pornography.
