As Texas A&M baseball continues to fight for its NCAA Tournament hopes, the Aggies have lost a key member of their team.
In the top of the fifth inning of Thursday's SEC baseball tournament game vs. No. 10 Auburn, Aggies star outfielder Jace Laviolette exited the game with an apparent hand injury after taking a pitch off his hand from Tigers' left-hander pitcher Carson Myers.
Laviolette is one of the more recognizable names in the Aggies' offense, and entered Thursday's game with a .259 batting average and 18 home runs. He is ranked as the No. 7 prospect in this year's upcoming MLB draft by MLB Pipeline.

Texas A&M is currently leading Auburn 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning at Hoover Met Stadium in Hoover, Alabama. A win on Thursday would advance the Aggies to Friday's quarterfinals vs. No. 3 seed LSU, No. 1 nationally ranked team in the country.

Laviolette left Texas A&M's second-round game vs. Auburn on Thursday with an apparent hand injury. After initially taking a pitch to his hand during an at-bat, Laviolette trotted down to first base while showing signs of pain. The SEC Network broadcast then showed Laviolette signaling to the Aggies' dugout that he couldn't stay in the game.
He was replaced at first by pinch runner Jamal George, who would then enter the game in Laviolette's place in the lineup the next half inning.

ESPN's Kris Budden reported on the SEC Network's broadcast that Laviolette has not returned to the Aggies' dugout after initially entering it once he came off the field.
"There is an X-Ray machine onsite so he does not have to leave and go to the hospital to have it checked out. He has not come back here in the dugout," Budden reported. "When that happened, this place was so silent that from across the field that I could hear Jace screaming out in pain."

While it has not been confirmed by Texas A&M, it appears that Laviolette sustained a hand injury in Thursday's SEC tournament game.

Clemson fell to Alabama, 89-82, at Arena (Staples Center), denying the Tigers their first trip to a Final Four. Prior to that, Clemson and Alabama met four months earlier on Nov. 28 in Tuscaloosa, an 85-77 Tigers victory in the 2023 ACC/SEC Challenge. The SEC reveals TV windows for Auburn football Mark your calendars! The SEC has officially revealed the TV windows for every Auburn game The football season is almost here, and it is time to begin planning for roadtrips to the Plains and beyond to watch the Auburn Tigers this fall. Weeks after major networks revealed the start times for Auburn's first three games of the season, the SEC has now released the television windows for the remaining nine games on Auburn's schedule to better prepare fans for the season. Auburn's start times are broken down into four categories: early (11 a.m. – noon CT), afternoon (2:30 – 3:30 p.m. CT), night (5 – 7 p.m. CT), and flex (2:30 – 3:30 p.m. CT or 5-7 p.m. CT). Several notable windows are its game with Georgia at home (night), Arkansas on the road (early), and the Iron Bowl against Alabama (flex). Auburn's SEC opener at Oklahoma gets the flex treatment on Sept. 20, with the following week at Texas A&M beginning in the afternoon window at Kyle Field. The Tigers' home opener at Georgia will be under the lights at Jordan-Hare Stadium, with two of their next three games against Missouri and Kentucky being labeled as "flex." The game in-between the Missouri Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats at Arkansas will be an early kick. The next two games, against Vanderbilt in Nashville, and Mercer at home, will kick in the afternoon. Auburn vs. Vanderbilt will begin in the afternoon time frame while the game against Mercer will begin at 1 p.m. CT and will air on SEC Network. Finally, the Iron Bowl at Jordan-Hare Stadium is flexed. However, as the trend has shown recently, fans can expect the game to kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT. Alabama's opponent for 2025 SEC-ACC Basketball Challenge revealed Alabama basketball has reportedly learned its opponent for the annual SEC-ACC Challenge. CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported Wednesday that Nate Oats' Crimson Tide will take on coach Brad Brownell and the Clemson Tigers at Coleman Coliseum in the 2025 SEC-ACC Challenge. An official date and start time were not announced. The matchup between Alabama and Clemson will be a rematch of teams who met twice during the 2023-24 season, most notably in the West Region final of the Elite Eight in Los Angeles. The Crimson Tide punched their first-ever ticket to the Final Four with an 89-82 win over the Tigers at Arena (Staples Center) on March 30, 2024. Alabama made 16 3-pointers in the victory, getting a game-high 23 points from Mark Sears, who made 7-of-14 shots from beyond the arc, and 19 points off the bench from Jarin Stevenson. Alabama and Clemson previously met in the 2023-24 regular season on Nov. 28 in Coleman Coliseum, an 85-77 Tigers victory in that year's SEC-ACC Challenge. One of Tigers' star players from their 2024 run to the Elite Eight, forward Ian Schieffelin, recently joined Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football team as a tight end. Last year, Alabama defeated North Carolina in the SEC-ACC Challenge, 94-79 in Chapel Hill behind 20 points from Sears and 15 apiece from Labaron Philon and Aden Holloway. Philon recently announced his decision to withdraw from the 2025 NBA draft and return to Tuscaloosa for his sophomore season. As part of their 2024-25 schedule, the Crimson Tide will also face Illinois in Chicago, Purdue at Coleman Coliseum, Rick Pitino's St. John's Red Storm at Madison Square Garden, and the Arizona Wildcats at Legacy Arena in Birmingham among other nonconference foes.
