Celtic's most decorated players as James Forrest now stands alone at top
Celtic clinched their 55th league title with a 5-0 win over Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday.
The triumph was veteran winger James Forrest's 26th major trophy with the Hoops in a glittering career at Parkhead.
Since marking his debut with a goal as a fresh-faced teenager away back in 2009 he has played through a golden-era of success for the club.
The 33-year-old came off the bench to help Brendan Rodgers' side wrap up their latest championship in what was his 13th league title.
That puts him one ahead of legendary Lisbon Lion forward Bobby Lennox to stand alone as the most decorated in the clubs long history.
Here, we look at the Hoops legends with the most trophy wins with the Parkhead club. SNS Group Forrest has now won 26 major honours at the Hoops.
The winger has now won 13 league titles since making his Celtic debut in May 2010.
Forrest can win his eighth Scottish Cup next month and also has six League Cup winners' medals to his name after being involved in a nine-in-a-row and quadruple treble run.
His Parkhead career looked in doubt last January when a move away from the club was mooted, but he stayed around and got himself back in the team to play a big part in last season's title win.
The 33-year-old could have had even more medals to his name if it wasn't for a series of injuries that meant he missed out on three final victories. SNS Group Lennox won 25 medals at Celtic and is also the club's second top scorer of all time.
Forrest surpassed a fellow Ayrshire-born nine-in-a-row winning forward with this season's league title.
Legendary Lisbon Lion Bobby Lennox was one of the team who brought the European Cup to Britain for the first time.
He won the big one in 1967, 11 league titles, eight Scottish Cups and five League Cup winners' medals.
After a brief spell in the United States, Lennox, now 81, returned to Celtic and won a league and cup double in 1980 in his final full season.
He is also sandwiched between Jimmy McGrory and Henrik Larsson as the club's second top goal scorer. SNS Group At two years younger, McGregor could surpass Forrest in the coming years.
Celtic captain Callum McGregor is not far behind long-term teammate Forrest.
The 31-year-old, who has two years on the winger, is a good bet to surpass his medal haul in the coming years.

The Lisbon Lions captain endured some difficult years for Celtic after joining in 1957 before the arrival of Jock Stein saw them quickly become Scotland's dominant club and the best in Europe in 1967.
He captained Celtic to another European Cup three after Lisbon in 1970 and hung up his boots in 1975, a year after leading Celtic to nine consecutive titles.
McNeill, who has a statue outside Celtic Park, also won seven Scottish Cups and six League Cups.
The late Scotland defender was not finished with the silverware though – he won eight more major trophies with Celtic during two spells as manager. SNS Group Brown captained Celtic to nine-in-a-row and a quadruple treble.
McGregor's predecessor as captain drove Celtic forward for years after joining from Hibernian in 2007.
Scott Brown joined from Hibernian for £4.5m and captained the Hoops to nine-in-a-row and a historic quadruple treble before departing for Aberdeen in 2021.
In all, he won 10 titles and six winners' medals in both domestic cup competitions.

It had been suggested Evans' departure could mark the end of his career, after Evans noted 'It was stay here or retire' last summer. The defender is yet to make plans however. "I'm not sure yet," Evans told BBC Sport NI when asked about his future . "I'll take a bit of time. I don't feel like I'm in a rush to do anything." In his eight years away from Manchester, Evans spent three years at West Bromwich Albion and five years at Leicester. The central defender added an FA Cup victory in 2021 to three Premier League titles, a Champions League, an FA Cup and two League Cup success across his two stints with the Red Devils. Evans earned 107 caps for Northern Ireland and provided some analysis on where the nation stands during his appearance on BBC. The ex-Sunderland loanee is hopeful his former boss, Michael O'Neill can lead the country to World Cup qualification. "When you've got Michael O'Neill in charge, he gives everyone a little bit of hope," said Evans, "He's taken the team to a major tournament before and if you want anyone in charge, it's him. "When I look at this team it reminds me of ourselves. He's playing five at the back and he has Isaac Price, he's on a good run of form. "You look throughout the team, you see Dan Ballard and Trai Hume getting promoted, they'll be playing Premier League football and that'll only be good for the team. I'm excited. National Biography adds John Dawes and Michael Peckham
The Gwent pair are among 238 people added to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography after they died in 2021. Dawes is the only man to have led the British and Irish Lions to a series victory in New Zealand after being skipper on the 1971 tour. The Abercarn-born centre won 22 caps for Wales after his debut in 1964 and was captain for the Grand Slam triumph in 1971 before heading off to face the All Blacks. Dawes became national coach and won the Five Nations title four times, two of them Grand Slams, and won four triple crowns. He coached the Lions in New Zealand in 1977. He played for Newbridge and went on to become a London Welsh captain and coach. Panteg-born Peckham was the son of a railway locomotive fireman and won a scholarship from Monmouth Grammar School to Cambridge. That started a career as a distinguished oncologist whose multidisciplinary treatment programmes improved survival rates and led to the wider acceptance of holistic care models for cancer patients. A strong believer in the application of evidence-based medicine, he was the first NHS director of research and development. The Oxford DNB is a national record of people who have shaped British history. From June 2025, the dictionary includes biographies of more than 63,000 individuals, written by more than 14,000 contributors, and with more than 12,000 portrait images. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, is included in the new edition with Queen Elizabeth II's entry to be published next year. Aberdeen defender Jack Milne could follow £4.75million star's Pittodrie career path, says legend Brian Irvine
Signing Jack Milne on a long-term contract is a masterstroke by Aberdeen as the defender's career rise could mirror Scott McKenna's, says legend Brian Irvine. Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin and the Pittodrie hierarchy recently tied centre-back Milne on an extended deal in April until summer 2029. A month-after committing his long term future to the club Milne played a key role in the Scottish Cup final triumph – in only his third start of the season. The 22-year-old delivered a stellar performance at Hampden as the Dons lifted the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1990. Irvine netted the winning penalty in the 1990 cup win and was at the national stadium to watch Milne shine at the heart of a five-man defence. He reckons youth academy graduate Milne's performance proves he has the potential to emulate the Pittodrie career path of Scotland international McKenna. McKenna emerged through the Aberdeen youth system to become a first team star before securing a £3million move to then-English Championship Nottingham Forest in 2020. The figure Aberdeen banked for McKenna rose to £4.75m due to add-ons being achieved when he helped Forest earn promotion to the Premier League in 2022. Irvine said: 'Signing Jack Milne on a long-term contract until 2029 is a great move by Aberdeen. 'He delivered a fantastic performance in the Scottish Cup final that was extremely mature for a young player. 'Milne can take real confidence from how he played at Hampden and will benefit from that going forward. 'It could ultimately be another Scott McKenna situation where Milne gets a big move from Aberdeen in the future. 'McKenna was superb for Aberdeen for a number of seasons then went on to get the big transfer to England. 'At club and international level McKenna has had a fantastic career since coming through at Aberdeen. 'Milne could potentially mirror that.' Aberdeen's Scottish Cup final triumph has secured guaranteed European league action next season and a Uefa cash bonus of around £5million. The Dons will enter the Europa League play-offs with ties played on August 21 and 28. Should they lose the play-off, Aberdeen will parachute into the Conference League. Manager Jimmy Thelin has already began bolstering his squad in a bid to balance European league action with domestic commitments. Australian international striker Kusini Yengi, 26, has signed a pre-contract. Yengi will arrive on a free following the expiration of his contract with Portsmouth. Versatile left-back Emmanuel Gyamfi, 20, was signed from German Bundesliga 2 club FC Schalke 04 on a four-year-deal for an undisclosed fee. Australian winger Nicolas Milanovic was also secured for around £400,000 from A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers. The 23-year-old was recently named the A-League player of the year. Keeper Nick Suman, 25, was also secured and will join the Reds when his contract with Cove Rangers expires later this month. Aberdeen are in advanced talks with multiple transfer targets ahead of the summer transfer window. Irvine is confident the Reds will build on the Scottish Cup triumph. He said: 'All the Aberdeen players should take huge confidence from the cup win. 'Ultimately they lost out on that third-placed Premiership finish. 'But that was overtaken by qualifying for the Europa League play-off anyway by winning the Scottish Cup. 'It has been a great season for all the players and now they should build on that. 'Thelin signed a lot of players in his first season, with many Scandinavians, and it takes a little time to settle. 'They'll have more confidence and experience to take the next step in their Aberdeen career. 'There will be more new signings in the summer window. 'However, most of the players have been under Thelin for a year and we will see the best of them next season.' Pittodrie great Irvine famously scored the winning penalty as the Dons triumphed 9-8 in a spot-kick shoot-out against Celtic in the 1990 Scottish Cup final. Irvine was back at Hampden for further penalty shoot-out drama. Only this time he was watching as one of the 20,000 Aberdeen supporters who cheered the Reds to a 4-3 triumph on penalties. Aberdeen also won the Scottish Cup on Irvine's 60th birthday. He said: 'I was down on a supporters' bus that was arranged by the club, and left from Pittodrie. 'At Hampden, I sat in amongst the supporters – because I am one myself. 'I was there with my daughter's partner. 'It was a slightly different position from 35 years ago… but just as nervy! 'When we won the Scottish Cup for the first time since 1990, it was a very emotional moment. 'I'm delighted for the players, the club and the fans. 'It was extra special because Aberdeen won the cup on my 60th birthday. 'A lot of supporters took selfies with me at Hampden, which I really enjoyed. 'On the journey home the music was pumping out with lots of songs sung. 'We got back to Pittodrie just ahead of the team bus which arrived just after 11. 'The night was probably still young for the youngsters, but 60-year-old me thought I had better go home. 'The unity between the club and city is strong at the moment which is fantastic to see.'
