When is Orlando Pirates vs Galaxy?

Orlando Pirates must remain professional for the remainder of the campaign, although there's nothing more for them to win.
Orlando Pirates will be eager to give Jose Riveiro a proper sendoff in their remaining fixtures. The first one of those is against TS Galaxy on Saturday, 17 May, with kickoff at 15:00. Makhehlene Makhaula will miss the match after being ruled out for the rest of the season.
Benni McCarthy started his coaching journey at Sint-Truiden, where he was the Belgian club's assistant manager from 2015 to 2016. He then presided over 89 matches at Cape Town City as their head coach, winning the MTN9 in 2018-2019. His next head coach role was with AmaZulu, a club he guided to the Caf Champions League for the first time in their history. All of those roles preceded arguably his most glamorous position to date: first-team attacking coach at Manchester United. With the 2023-2024 FA Cup now in his cabinet, Benni's tasted success in the dugout on two occasions and will want more of that feeling. Mr McCarthy is now the head coach of Kenya's Harambee Stars.

FULL LIST: Orlando Pirates set to announce these SIX signings!

Orlando Pirates are on a shopping spree and do not look as if they will be slowing down anytime soon. If rumours are to be believed, Pirates have already made at least six signings ahead of the new season. One of the positions that Pirates seem keen to revamp ahead of the new campaign, is their midfield. According to reports, the Buccaneers have transfer agreements in place to sign Sihle Nduli and Sinoxolo Kwayiba. Nduli would be arriving from Stellenbosch FC as a free agent, while Kwayiba is set to join from Chippa United. But it doesn't end there in midfield as Pirates have also been rumoured to have beaten Chiefs to Masindi Nemtajela. The Marumo Gallants star was reportedly the subject of strong interest from Amakhosi who wanted to bring him to Naturena. However, it was the Buccaneers who would go on to win that race and add them to their list of signings. Even before the season ended Pirates were believed to have made a double signing from Baroka FC. This being for utility duo Kabelo Kgositsile and Tshepho Mashiloane . The two impressed against the Buccaneers in a Nedbank Cup encounter and it was very soon negotiations time before a deal was struck. It now remains to be seen where they will fit in with the club's plans and those of whoever the new coach will be. The last of the players believed to have already signed for Pirates is Nkosikhona Ndaba. The 22-year-old left-back is set to join the club from Richards Bay FC ahead of their pre-season tour to Germany. He is set to be one of the players signed to replace the departing Innocent Maela and Paseka Mako. So here's the full list of Pirates signings so far: Kabelo Kgositsile Tshepo Mashiloane Sinoxolo Kwayiba Masindi Nemtajela Sihle Nduli Nkosikhona Ndaba Pirates fans, which of the above signings are you most excited to see? Orlando Pirates: THREE tasty squad numbers are now available

Miguel Timm, Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako are all no longer Orlando Pirates players. That means some squad numbers are up for grabs. Monyane and Mako were released as the club looks to upgrade in the full-back department. 32-year-old Miguel Timm has been on the fringes of the first team and will sign with Sekhukhune. Paseka Mako, Miguel Timm and Thabiso Monyane are no longer with the Sea Robbers. As a result, numbers 29, 4 and 2 are available to be handed to new signings. Most Buccaneers fans will remember that jersey number 4 once belonged to the great Happy Jele. Who's got big enough footsteps to fill it next? According to SABC Sport, 31-year-old Paseka Mako is in advanced talks with Kaizer Chiefs over a winter move. Stellenbosch full-back Fawaaz Basadien was initially their first choice. However, the Winelands club is reluctant to sell the Bafana man, whom they see as an indispensable member of their squad. It's somewhat of a surprise that Pirates let go of Mako. The nifty left-back made 26 appearances in the 2024-2025 campaign. Meanwhile, 34-year-old Deon Hotto faces an uncertain long-term future. Paseka Mako during his final season with Orlando Pirates. The 38-year-old has been strongly linked with a return to Orlando Pirates, and Rulani isn't doing much to quell those rumours. He served as Josef Zinnbauer's assistant in the 2019-2020 campaign. Orlando Pirates might live to regret selling this player

Orlando Pirates are clearing the decks to make another assault on the Betway Premiership title. Is this piece of business foolish? Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane are both on the way out. Meanwhile, the club continues to monitor Oswin Appollis, although the Bafana man is also in talks with Kaizer Chiefs. 31-year-old full-back Paseka Mako made 26 appearances across all competitions last term for Pirates. The compact left-sided star is much-loved by the fans. Another firm favourite, Deon Hotto, is 34 now and approaching the twilight of his stellar career. Is it foolish, therefore, to let go of Mako, who still has plenty to offer at this level? 'Orlando Pirates are emptying the recycling bin now' In their search for a prolific wide man, Chiefs have reportedly reignited their interest in Polokwane and Bafana star Oswin Appollis. The 23-year-old was in action for South Africa in a 0-0 draw against Tanzania. Appollis is also a target for Pirates. Click for the story Orlando Pirates fans are expectant on Soweto Derby Day.
