EVER wondered what it would be like if a playground was submerged in water? Us neither, but thank goodness someone at a country park in Devon did, as it's awesome.
River Dart Country Park near Dartmoor in Devon isn't your ordinary park with woodland trails; instead, it is home to a whole range of activities, including a Go Ape-like water attraction.

The lake in the park boasts a partially sunken pirate ship that visitors can swim or paddle out to and then climb aboard to investigate.
Also in the middle of the lake is a desert island with sand and a faux palm tree.
And at the edge of the lake, there is an obstacle course with different things to climb and cross - all suspended above the water.
If that all sounds a bit too much like hard work, the lake has a small beach to relax on as well.
One visitor said: "[I]t's great fun, especially for the kids in the Pirate Lagoon, which is reasonably shallow (waist-deep for adults at most)."
Another added: " It never felt too busy even in peak season."
As the water comes directly from the River Dart it is recommended that visitors wear wetsuits and water shoes when in the water.
Visitors can use inflatables such as dinghies and pool inflatables on the lake as well.
The rest of the park has lots of other activities too, such as an adventure playground, agility trails, an anaconda slide, and bike trails.

Other water-based activities include a dam pool, canoe lake and kayaking available for an additional fee.
For those who prefer to stay on dry land, there is a high ropes course with 21 elements that crosses the River Dart, so you can still see the water.
In total, the course takes around 45 minutes and children must be aged eight or over to go on the course - it costs £24 per go.
Or visitors could whizz on a zip wire, 15 metres above the ground and for 150 metres over the lake.
Children need to be aged eight or over and it costs £12 per go.

There are multiple walking and biking trails at the attractions as well

For keen climbers, there is also the Climb and Cave Zone ,with a 5.5 metre climbing wall.
There are two routes to take and once complete, visitors can head to the Bouldering Box for more climbing fun.
To experience the climbing area, children must be five years old or over, and it costs £10 per person or £8 per person for the Bouldering Room.
Tennis courts are free on site too, but you must book and you might want to bring your own rackets.
After all the playing, families can head to The Old Sawmill for a range of light bites and drinks.
And if you want to extend your stay, you can camp at the park as well, with prices varying depending on season, but usually starting from £30 per pitch, for two people, per night.

And you can either stay at the site via camping or at a bed and breakfast

If you prefer four walls and an actual bed, Holne Park House is located in the park as well, and offers bed and breakfast from £110.
Both accommodation options include entry to the park for the duration of your stay.
Admission to just the park though costs £14.50 per person, including children over the age of five.
Tickets for children between two and four-years-old cost £8 and four-legged furry friends are allowed as well for £5.50.
But for the summer holidays (until September 7) each admission ticket allows unlimited free returns within seven days.

I've lost 3.5st on Mounjaro but its ruined so much – yes I'm thin, but I'm disgusted at a side effect no one talks about
She's also been stunned by the comments people now say to her face, rather then behind her back NO WEIGH I've lost 3.5st on Mounjaro but its ruined so much – yes I'm thin, but I'm disgusted at a side effect no one talks about Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A WOMAN who has lost almost four stone on Mounjaro has admitted there are more than a few downsides. Sara-Jane has been on the weight loss jabs for the past six months, and has already managed to shed over three stone. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Sara-Jane has lost almost four stone in six months on Mounjaro Credit: tiktok/@thatsarajane 4 But she said there are numerous side effects people don't talk about Credit: tiktok/@thatsarajane 4 Sara-Jane is unrecognisable from her former self Credit: tiktok/@thatsarajane 4 One thing she's disgusted about is just how much she's now on the 'male radar' Credit: tiktok/@thatsarajane She's been sharing her journey on her social media pages, but in a new video on TikTok, she bemoaned the side effects of the GLP-1 injections - including one nobody talks about. "The things that Mounjaro has absolutely ruined for me," she began. "Much to my disgust, I'm back on the male radar again. "Don't hold a door for me, don't smile at me, don't even breathe in my direction." Sara-Jane insisted she "didn't lose this all to become visible again to your breed". "I will gain it all back out of spite just to sumo roll you into traffic!" she raged. "Leave me alone." She also revealed she's been having a "clothing identity crisis" since losing weight, and has been sticking to leggings and T-shirts. And when it comes to exercising, there's nothing Sara-Jane hates more than being asked to join group classes. "I will do weights alone in my bedroom. Matching yoga mats and a yummy mummy club every Wednesday is just never going to be for me!" she insisted. I've lost nearly 6 stone in 9 months on fat jabs - trolls call me 'lazy' & say it's the 'easy way out' but I don't care While she used to be able to avoid theme park rides due to her size, Sara-Jane now has no excuse to join her kids on rollercoasters. And the last thing on her list is that people now say their"most wild comments about you to your face". "Sorry Sue, I didn't actually ask about the lady in Take a Break magazine who jabbed herself in the toe and then had multiple organ failure. "Adding 'I'm sure you'll be fine though' doesn't make you any less of a w**ker. "But you carry on with the diet club my love and keep losing and gaining that same five pounds you've been losing and gaining for the last 10 years." Concluding, Sara-Jane said: "I wouldn't go as far as to say it's ruined my entire life but I am having to develop some new coping skills to deal with all this." What to do if you lose too much weight too quickly whilst on Mounjaro IF you're losing too much weight too quickly while on Mounjaro, it's important to take action to avoid potential health risks like muscle loss, malnutrition, dehydration, and fatigue. Here's what you can do: Evaluate Your Caloric Intake Mounjaro reduces appetite, which can make it easy to eat too little. If you're losing weight too fast (more than two to three lbs per week after the initial adjustment period), try: Tracking your food intake to ensure you're eating enough calories (apps like MyFitnessPal can help). Increasing protein intake to preserve muscle mass (aim for 0.6–1g per pound of body weight). Adding healthy fats and complex carbs (e.g., avocados, nuts, whole grains) for balanced energy. Adjust Your Dosage (With Doctor's Approval) If your weight loss is too rapid or causing side effects, your doctor may: Pause dose increases or lower your dosage. Adjust your treatment plan to stabilise your weight loss. Strength Training & Exercise To prevent muscle loss: Incorporate resistance training at least two to three times per week. Stay active with low-impact exercises like walking or yoga. Hydrate & Manage Electrolytes Drink enough water (Mounjaro can reduce thirst). Electrolytes matter - Consider adding magnesium, sodium, and potassium if you feel weak or fatigued. Monitor for Malnutrition & Deficiencies Rapid weight loss can cause vitamin/mineral deficiencies (especially B12, iron, and electrolytes). If you experience: Fatigue, hair loss, or dizziness, ask your doctor about supplements. Consider Further Medical Guidance If your weight loss is excessive or causing health concerns, speak with your healthcare provider. They might adjust your dosage, diet, or exercise plan to help stabilise your weight loss. In the comments section, others on the injections admitted they'd also noticed the same side effects - particularly what Sara-Jane had said about the attention she now gets from men. "Yes I've noticed I've suddenly become visible to men this past week or so!" one wrote. "The man thing!!! 100%," another added. "Legit had a comment from a customer at work say 'You're fit now you've lost weight - want to go for food? "Like wtf!" While someone else wrote: "I've never been on the male radar, I hope it doesn't start since I'm on this. "I'm scared now lol!"

I work in a charity shop & there's a gift nobody wants but people keep buying – please stop, we get hundreds donated
Read on for our top tips to find a bargain at the charity shop QUIT IT I work in a charity shop & there's a gift nobody wants but people keep buying – please stop, we get hundreds donated Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A CHARITY shop worker has released a public announcement begging people to stop buying items that always land in their stores. Meg, from the UK, took to social media to let people know what gifts you shouldn't bother buying for your friend. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Meg shared the two gifts nobody wants that end up in her charity shop Credit: tiktok/@alottameg 4 Cheese boards and cheese knives were constantly being donated Credit: Card Factory In the clip, the young woman said: "Your friends don't want a f**king miniature cheese board set for Christmas. "And do you know how I know that? "Because we get donated about 500 of them. Every year." Meg said it wasn't just during the festive period either, the circulation of unused cheese boards and fancy cheese knives was constant all year. And to make it worse, the shops can't even sell them "We can't even put them out because we can't have sharps in the shop," she explained. She also shared another item charity shops were sick of seeing - elephant trousers. "Those stupid f**king elephant trousers that everyone wears when they go travelling around Asia," she said. "I don't want to see them anymore. Okay? I understand it's fun when you're out there, but why are you bringing them home?" Meg asked what was the point in buying something you know you won't wear when you get home, warning people to 'stop frivolously buying s**t." 4 And these printed trousers always ended up in the store Credit: I hit the jackpot with a random £2 charity shop buy worth £115 The clip soon went viral on her TikTok account @alottameg with over 1.2 million views and 133k likes. People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments. One person wrote: "Me watching this in my gifted elephant trousers." Another commented: "I appreciate you putting this out there, I'm sick of pointless gifts that the earth doesn't want." "Lol I work in a charity shop & the influx of teacher gifts we've had in the last couple of weeks is crazy!" penned a third. 4 She warned people to stop buying stuff just for the sake of it Credit: tiktok/@alottameg Top charity shop tips for bagging a bargain Ross Dutton has been a manager for Crisis's charity shops for four years and currently runs the charity's Finsbury Park shop in London. Choose your area - As a rule of thumb, the posher the area, the better quality the clothes that are donated. Don't hang around - If you see something you like, buy it, as it'll likely be gone when you come back Look out for cut-off labels - Some of your favourite high street stores will have deals with local charity shops to donate stock that isn't sold during their own sales. Often part of the deal is that they need to cut the labels off the clothes. Stay at home - While some charities have their own site, like Oxfam and Crisis. many also sell from dedicated eBay stores, such as British Heart Foundation and Scope. You won't get the range of bargains that you would get in a physical store, but if you're looking for something specific it may be worth checking online too. Meanwhile a fourth said: "Ignore her… I want a mini cheese board set for Christmas." "I'll happily accept a mini cheese board set,' claimed a fifth Someone else added: "This now makes sense why I can never find cheese knives in the charity shop."
