Youngsters earn maiden ODI call-ups in Proteas squad for tri-series against India and Sri Lanka
Cricket South Africa has announced the squad for the Proteas Women's upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, where they will compete in an ODI tri-series against hosts Sri Lanka and India.
Three players have received their maiden call-ups to the national side, with Karabo Meso and Seshnie Naidu, who featured in the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup earlier this year, included in the tri-series squad. All-rounder Miané Smit, who was a travelling reserve at last year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup, also makes the cut.

Alongside the youngsters, Nondumiso Shangase makes her return to the national side for the first time since the Proteas Women's tour to India in June last year.
These four players come in as replacements for seamer Ayanda Hlubi, wicketkeeper Mieke de Ridder and opening batter Lara Goodall. Meanwhile, Marizanne Kapp will miss the series as she continues her conditioning block in preparation for the upcoming tours and the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in India.

Speaking on the squad selected, Proteas Women head coach Mandla Mashimbyi said: 'It's a very good squad. The mixture of youth and experience helps. It's an opportunity for these girls to show what they can do. Hopefully, whatever we've covered at the camp can be applied in Sri Lanka when we take the field.
'For me, it's not an opportunity for Karabo, Miané and Seshnie anymore. It's an opportunity for us to give them exposure at this level. Going forward and for the bigger picture, it's important that we expose them as much as possible to international cricket."
The tri-series will begin on April 27 and will be played entirely at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. News Women's News South Africa Women

Team Abu Dhabi capped a remarkable domestic season by winning the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) D10 competition. Abu Dhabi defeated Sharjah by seven wickets in the final after restricting their opponents to 87-5 in their 10 overs. Zayed Cricket Academy U19 side were declared champions of the ECB National League while the U16s were runners-up in the National League. 'This D10 title is a huge validation of our model,' said Matt Boucher, CEO of ADCSH. 'These are not just success stories for board meetings and presentations – they are real, on-the-field wins. Brook relishing ‘fun' start as England captain after Windies clean sweep
Harry Brook said he was having a 'hell of a lot of fun' as England captain after his first series in permanent charge of the white-ball sides ended in a 3-0 clean sweep of the West Indies. England recorded their first one-day international series whitewash in three years — when they beat the Netherlands by the same scoreline — following a dominant seven-wicket success at the Oval on Tuesday. Brook's men made light of a revised target of 246 after rain reduced the match to 40 overs per side. Jamie Smith, promoted to open this series, launched the run chase with a dynamic 64 off 28 balls as he posted a maiden ODI fifty in front of his Surrey home crowd. Jos Buttler, Brook's predecessor as limited-overs captain, finished the job with 41 not out as England cruised home with more than 10 overs to spare. Adil Rashid was the pick of England's attack, with the veteran leg-spinner taking 3-40. 'Rash has got so much skill,' said Brook of his Yorkshire team-mate. 'He's a very wily bowler. In July last year, 121 people were killed in northern Uttar Pradesh state during a Hindu religious gathering.
