Philadelphia Flyers prospect forward Nikita Grebenkin endorsed goalie Aleksei Kolosov, describing him as a "professional" and a good guy, even as questions remain regarding Kolosov's NHL readiness.
Although they spent little time together in the AHL, Nikita Grebenkin was impressed by Philadelphia Flyers prospect Aleksei Kolosov, who is still under fire after a disappointing first year in North America.
Nikita Grebenkin approved of goalie Aleksei Kolosov, calling him a 'professional'
Nikita Grebenkin said he thinks that Aleksei Kolosov is an optimistic person and expressed his joy at knowing him. 'Aleksei, a good, positive guy. A professional who knows his stuff," Nikita Grebenkin told Legalbet.by.
"I'm very glad that I met him.'
The 23-year-old Aleksei Kolosov was unable to adapt to the tempo and stress of the NHL. In 15 appearances with the Flyers, he was5-9-1 with a 3.59 GAA and a .867 save percentage. His AHL stats weren't impressive either—5-6-1, 3.11 GAA, and an .884 save percentage—but his show in March offered encouragement.
Flyers Goalie Aleksei Kolosov Won't Return To the AHL For the Playoffs?!
A few observers have written that Aleksei Kolosov's improved performances in the AHL are timed to arrive with Nikita Grebenkin.
Whether or not that is coincidence or chemistry, the Flyers should pay attention.
Contrast that with life at the NHL: even with fellow Russian-speaking teammates such as Matvei Michkov, Ivan Fedotov, and Egor Zamula to support him, Aleksei Kolosov continued to struggle. That's a reminder that language and cultural comfort by themselves are no guarantee of a smooth transition—experience and confidence must catch up.
Nevertheless, Nikita Grebenkin's endorsement joins a swelling list of players—including Calgary Flames sniper Ilya Nikolayev, who recently criticized Kolosov in a positive way—who believe that Kolosov is a player with high upside and the weapons to make it.
For the time being, it seems Aleksei Kolosov is dedicated to pursuing his career with the Flyers, even with rumors of him possibly wanting to go back to Europe if NHL prospects are reduced.

A full season in the AHL—potentially with both Nikita Grebenkin and Fedotov in the fold—could serve as a development year the young netminder desperately needs. The Flyers seem invested in his future, but patience and proper support will be vital if Kolosov is to grow into the goaltender many believe he can become.

Shubman Gill vs Zak Crawley: 'We call it Tamasha' - Ex-India coach on fiery last-over scenes at Lord's

India's Shubman Gill and England's Zak Crawley have words at the end of the third day during the third cricket test match between England and India at Lord's cricket ground in London, Saturday, July 12, 2025. (Bradley Collyer/PA via AP) Former India coach Ravi Shastri has reacted to the on-field drama that unfolded in the last over of Day 3 between Shubman Gill and England opener Zak Crawley at Lord's. England and India accused each other of sharp practice after Crawley's conduct on Saturday drew an angry reaction from India captain Shubman Gill. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. Crawley ensured there were only six deliveries from Jasprit Bumrah before stumps by twice withdrawing from his stance and then calling for the physio after the fifth ball, which appeared to make only minimal contact with his glove. Tempers flared as it became evident that India would not be able to bowl another over before the close. Host broadcaster Sky Sports even issued an on-air apology after a stump microphone picked up Gill swearing angrily at Crawley. Crawley and Gill jabbed fingers at each other as they exchanged choice words, with England's other opener, Ben Duckett, also getting involved. Why Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah lost their cool in last five minutes of Day 3 vs England 'If I'm wearing the Indian hat, I would have done all that, you know,' Ravi Shastri told Sky Cricket. 'We call it Tamasha. All that is allowed, you know—on the field of play, you want all that. You can't just have 'good morning, good evening, go home'. A little bit of argy-bargy is okay! As long as you don't cross the line, I'm okay with all that.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Dukung Orang Terkasih Menghadapi Limfoma: Mulai Di Sini Limfoma Klik Di Sini Undo Tim Southee, England's bowling consultant, suggested Gill was guilty of double standards after delaying the end of England's innings on Day 2 to receive treatment, while India all-rounder Washington Sundar also held up proceedings during his batting stint for what appeared to be a comfort break. 'I'm not sure what they were complaining about when Gill was lying down getting a massage in the middle of the day yesterday,' Southee told reporters after stumps on Saturday. 'It's obviously part of the game. It's always exciting to see both sides animated towards the end, and it was an exciting way to finish the day. It was good to see energy from both sides.' Pacer Arundhati Reddy bowled Tammy Beaumont with a clever slower ball, then dismissed Amy Jones next ball when Radha Yadav dived forward from short fine leg to complete a brilliant low catch. India sensed a late twist with England needing five off three balls. But Sophie Ecclestone and Paige Scholfield held their nerves to guide England home on the final delivery. Earlier, India posted 167 for 7 after a blazing 75 off 41 balls from Shafali Verma. She hit 13 fours and a six, reaching her fifty in just 23 balls — the second joint-fastest by an Indian woman in T20Is. Contributions from Harmanpreet Kaur (15), Richa Ghosh (24), and Radha Yadav (14) helped India set a competitive total. India may have lost the final game, but the series win was historic. The two teams now gear up for a three-match ODI series starting July 16 in Southampton. Catch Manika Batra's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 3. Watch Here!
