KRU enters Malaysia Book of Records for GenKRU concert
13 May - KRU recently made their way to the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for Most Show in A Single Concert Series.
The trio of siblings received the honour from the MBOR after holding four consecutive weekend nights on 3 and 4 May, followed by 10 and 11 May at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil.
"This achievement is an appreciation not only for KRU personally but for the fans who turned the GenKRU 2025 Concert from its original plan of just one night into two, three to four nights," said Norman Abd Halim as the leader and the eldest of the siblings.
He continued, "We are very thankful for the unwavering support over more than three decades, which enabled the GenKRU 2025 Concert to be recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records."
In addition to KRU, concert organiser Icon Entertainment also received recognition for Most Concert Tickets Sold Out in an Hour, after successfully selling 8,000 tickets within 60 minutes.
"Thank you to MBR for this honour. We at Icon Entertainment are proud to share this achievement with all the fans who made it possible," said founder, Iman Tang.
The series of performances, which concluded on 11 May and attended by over 30,000 fans, featured various nostalgic performances not only by KRU, but their related acts like Feminin, Elite, and Adam AF.

KRU adds fourth GenKRU concert on May 11 after earlier shows sell out in under an hour due to overwhelming demand KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — Organisers have added a fourth night to the GenKRU concert series after tickets for the third show sold out, extending the reunion performances of the KRU brothers to May 11 at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil. Icon Entertainment founder Iman Tang said the decision was made in response to overwhelming requests from fans of the trio. 'Icon Entertainment would like to express our deepest thanks to all KRU fans for purchasing tickets for the first and second GenKRU concerts, which sold out in under an hour,' he said, as quoted by Kosmo! Online. 'The tickets for the third night on May 10 are also officially sold out. We are truly touched by the support. This is a symbol of love and appreciation from fans for our national music icons. ADVERTISEMENT 'On behalf of Icon Entertainment and KRU, I feel extremely moved and speechless, and I now announce the fourth night of the GenKRU concert,' he said. Iman said they felt responsible to give all supporters who struggled to get tickets another chance to create new memories with Datuk Norman Abdul Halim, Datuk Yusry and Edry. 'For those who failed to secure tickets for the earlier three shows, we want them to feel the same satisfaction at this final concert night,' he added. KRU member Norman said the group agreed to add a fourth night as a gift to fans from both Icon Entertainment and KRU. 'With Monday, May 12, 2025, being a public holiday for Wesak Day, we felt that holding a concert on Sunday, May 11, was suitable,' he said. ADVERTISEMENT 'This decision was made quickly as both parties received many DMs (direct messages) asking us to add another night on Sunday, May 11, 2025. 'After considering various factors, we decided to go ahead. Many fans told us they wanted to come again because they hadn't had enough of the previous shows,' he said. Tickets for the fourth night are priced between RM258 and RM588 and went on sale today at 1pm via Formed in 1992, KRU is a pioneering Malaysian pop and hip-hop group known for blending Western influences with local music and pushing the boundaries of production, performance and visual storytelling. The trio — brothers Norman, Yusry and Edry — announced their disbandment in 2018 after over 25 years in the local entertainment industry.

KL Tower to light up New Year's Eve with record-breaking fireworks, first display since 1996
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 – The Kuala Lumpur Tower has announced that it will welcome 2025 with a record-breaking fireworks display, marking the first such spectacle since 1996. The event, part of the New Year's Eve 2025 Quarter Century Celebration, will feature two fireworks shows launched from 307.610 metres and 401.610 metres above sea level. The celebration will aim to set a Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) achievement for the highest altitude fireworks display. Festivities are set to begin at 10pm with music performances and an official countdown. The celebration will also include live performances by The Sky Band and violinist Martin Looi, alongside an MBOR certificate presentation at midnight to recognise the record-setting feat. KL Tower also encouraged attendees to use public transport or e-hailing services to manage traffic and parking at the site.
