The trio – Datuk Norman Abdul Halim, Yusry Abdul Halim, and Edry Abdul Halim – earned the accolade for Most Shows in a Single Concert Series after delivering electrifying performances over four consecutive nights on May 3, 4, 10 and 11. Norman expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support, which turned the originally planned one-night event into a four-night musical extravaganza. 'We are very thankful for the unwavering support over more than three decades, which enabled the GenKRU 2025 Concert to be recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records,' he said. Organiser Icon Entertainment (M) Sdn Bhd also received recognition under the category of Most Concert Tickets Sold Out in an Hour, with 8,000 tickets snapped up within 60 minutes. Iman Tang, founder of Icon Entertainment, thanked fans for making the GenKRU 2025 Concert a record-breaking success. 'Thank you to MBR for this honour. We at Icon Entertainment are proud to share this achievement with all the fans who made it possible,' he said. 13 May - KRU recently made their way to the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) for Most Show in A Single Concert Series. The trio of siblings received the honour from the MBOR after holding four consecutive weekend nights on 3 and 4 May, followed by 10 and 11 May at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil. "This achievement is an appreciation not only for KRU personally but for the fans who turned the GenKRU 2025 Concert from its original plan of just one night into two, three to four nights," said Norman Abd Halim as the leader and the eldest of the siblings. He continued, "We are very thankful for the unwavering support over more than three decades, which enabled the GenKRU 2025 Concert to be recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records." In addition to KRU, concert organiser Icon Entertainment also received recognition for Most Concert Tickets Sold Out in an Hour, after successfully selling 8,000 tickets within 60 minutes. GenKRU earns Malaysia Book of Records fame

KUALA LUMPUR: KRU Group and Icon Entertainment (M) Sdn Bhd made history by receiving two recognitions from The Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) following the successful staging of the GenKRU 2025 Concert. The four-night concert held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil was recognised in two categories: Most Shows in a Single Concert Series and Most Concert Tickets Sold Out in an Hour. The recognition was awarded to KRU for their performances on May 3, 4, 10 and 11, which drew more than 30,000 spectators, while Icon Entertainment was acknowledged for successfully selling 8,000 tickets within one hour. Communications Ministry deputy secretary-general (strategic communications and creative industry) Nik Kamaruzaman Nik Husin and Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia chief executive officer Iliyas Jamil witnessed the certificate presentations, handed over by MBOR representative Christopher Wong to KRU and Icon Entertainment. The band's leader Datuk Norman Abdul Halim said the achievement was a form of appreciation not only to KRU personally, but to fans who turned what was initially planned as a one-night concert into a four-night event. "KRU must extend their gratitude for the unwavering support over more than three decades, which enabled the concert to be held across four nights and to receive recognition from MBOR," he said after receiving the accolade. Meanwhile, Icon Entertainment founder Iman Tang described the achievement as proof of the overwhelming support from fans for KRU and the concert. "Icon Entertainment is pleased to share this recognition with all KRU fans who made the GenKRU Concert so extraordinary, not only because tickets sold out in one hour, but also because the concert was held successfully over four nights," he said. The GenKRU Concert also featured special guest appearances by artists such as Feminin, Elite, Adam AF, AC Mizal and Abon. Meanwhile, the Communications Ministry, through a post on Facebook today, congratulated KRU and Icon Entertainment for the recognition. It said the Madani government, through the Communications Ministry, remains committed to providing continued support for the development of the country's arts, culture and creative entertainment industries.
