Ryan Nugent-Hopkins missed practice June 8 with an undisclosed injury but did take part in the optional skate on the morning of June 9. Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch says he will be a game-time decision. "He'll take warmup and we'll decide from there," he said.
Jeff Skinner would return to the lineup if Nugent-Hopkins can't go. He has a goal and an assist in two playoff games.
"He's been a true professional and when we've needed him, he's been ready to play," Knoblauch said.
He'll return to the Panthers' lineup in Game 3 and Jesper Boqvist will come out. Greer, who plays on the fourth line with Tomas Nosek and Jonah Gadjovich, missed Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals, was limited in Game 5 and missed the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final.

Mikal Bridges agrees to a $150 million extension with the Knicks, AP source says

Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) — Mikal Bridges agreed to a four-year, $150 million extension with the New York Knicks on Thursday, a person with knowledge of the details said. The person confirmed the deal to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because it had not been announced. It was first reported by ESPN. The Knicks gave up five first-round picks to acquire Bridges last June and he rewarded them by taking less than he could have earned to lock in to a future with former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. Bridges could have earned $156 million in this extension, or even more by waiting until his contract expired next summer. Instead, he took the deal that could allow the Knicks future flexibility to keep building a team that reached the Eastern Conference finals last season for the first time since 2000. Bridges made a couple of huge defensive plays when the Knicks knocked off 2024 NBA champion Boston in the second round. The Knicks sought those defensive abilities and his availability to play every game that is unmatched among current NBA players when they traded the huge package of picks to acquire Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets last summer. Bridges played in every game — as he has in every season in the NBA — and averaged 17.6 points. The NBA's reigning iron man also played in every game in college before appearing in all 556 since entering the NBA as a first-round pick in 2018. He helped Phoenix reach the NBA Finals in 2021 and was runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year the following season, before being dealt to Brooklyn at the 2023 trade deadline as part of the package for Kevin Durant. Bridges averaged 26.1 points in the final 27 games of that season and 19.6 in 2023-24, before becoming more of a supporting offensive piece with the Knicks behind Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. ___ AP NBA: recommended Item 1 of 3

Falcons work out former top-10 draft pick, per report

According to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Atlanta Falcons worked out cornerback C.J. Henderson on Thursday afternoon and are contemplating whether or not to sign the former first-round pick. Henderson was selected ninth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2020, but his career has yet to live up to his draft status. The 26-year-old played just 10 games in Jacksonville before getting traded to the Carolina Panthers. He spent three seasons in Carolina (2021-2023) but did not return in 2024. Over his five NFL seasons, Henderson has appeared in 49 games (32 starts), recording three interceptions, 16 passes defended, two forced fumbles and one sack. Last season, the former Florida Gator signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers but was placed on the injured reserve list and did not appear in a single game. The Falcons signed safety Henry Black and released wide receiver Makai Polk from their 90-man training camp roster on Thursday morning. Atlanta also worked out former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead on Wednesday as the team looks to add more secondary depth. Check out the Falcons' updated 90-man roster following Tuesday's transactions. This article originally appeared on Falcons Wire: Atlanta Falcons work out former top-10 pick C.J. Henderson

Charles Barkley blasts TNT over ESPN NBA trade in NSFW rant

The post Charles Barkley blasts TNT over ESPN NBA trade in NSFW rant appeared first on ClutchPoints. For the first time since 1989, the NBA will not be broadcast on TNT. And while that fact has been clear for some time now, Charles Barkley is still mad about it. Barkley, the star of TNT's crown jewel, 'Inside the NBA,' will still be a part of the league's national television programming. But it will not, of course, be on TNT; instead, he, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O'Neal will occasionally appear on ESPN as part of a licensing deal in which 'Inside' will be produced by TNT's crew but broadcast on ESPN. The agreement, while helpful in partially justifying Barkley and Co.'s massive deals with Warner Bros. Discovery (TNT's parent company), remains a point of great annoyance for the former NBA star. 'TNT never came to us like grown folks and said, 'Hey guys, we're probably going to lose to NBA,' which we could have understood,' Barkley said on the 'Pardon My Take' podcast. 'But I thought they sucked. I told them they sucked. Because there's a way you treat people. Because if they had came to us and said, 'Hey, you know what? It's a lot of money.' Because, you know, we were paying 1.2 billion dollars a year and it went to 2.5 billion. That's a lot of money for 11 years. If they had said 'it's not a good deal,' we would have understood. But to let us hear about it — and I'll tell you something really s—-y about it, too: I found out that we got traded to ESPN from ESPN.' Barkley has been open in his discontent with WBD's leadership, although it has not changed much. 'Inside' is still scheduled to become a part of ESPN's NBA programming during the 2025-26 season, and TNT is still trying to come up with how to use Barkley, O'Neal, Johnson, and Smith without having the rights to the NBA. Barkley has said that they filmed an unaired pilot of sorts, which he said went disastrously and was acknowledged as such by the higher-ups in WBD. The NBA season is set to begin on Oct. 21. 'Inside' is expected to be a part of 'high-profile' games during the regular season, as well as postseason games.
