idea-L closes $1 million pre-seed round to launch AI-powered venture creation platform

UAE-based venture creation platform idea-L has raised a $1 million pre-seed round, backed by unnamed angel investors. Founded in 2024 by Peter Goodwin, Daniel Muller, and Mark Hill, idea-L uses AI and Web3 to turn ideas into investor-ready ventures. The funding will accelerate technical hiring and launch new products. Press release: idea-L®, the artificial intelligence (AI) and Web3-powered platform that turns ideas into investor-ready ventures, and potential into progress, announces the close of an oversubscribed $1 million pre-seed round. The round, secured from a wide syndicate of investment angels, encompasses capital injection in the Holding Company and for the idea-L overall Project, as well as valuable 'to be unveiled' partnership contributions. These funds will accelerate technical hiring, prime the launch of the firm's governance token, GovToken, alongside a world-leading DAO-managed deVC Fund™, and expand the i-Luminary™ mentor network. Headquartered in Dubai, idea-L® is strategically positioned at the heart of the Middle East's thriving innovation economy. The region's push to lead in AI, decentralised finance, and entrepreneurship makes it an ideal launchpad for idea-L®'s vision of democratising venture creation. 'We want every would-be founder to carry a supportive, tireless, data-driven co-founder in their pocket," said Peter Goodwin, CEO and Founder of idea-L®. 'We want to create an experience that costs minutes, not months.' At the centre of idea-L® is the Idea Realisation Platform™ (IRP™), your co-founder in your pocket. It's an AI-powered system that removes the guesswork and gives every founder a path forward. Users can begin with fast-Feasibility™, a rapid validation tool that blends structured datasets with generative AI to provide instant clarity on potential. From there, LIVE-Feasibility™ offers deeper, real-time insight into market conditions, competition, and operational risks, with the option to add human calibration through teamLIVE-Feasibility™, an advanced layer designed for founders preparing to scale or fundraise. Once an idea shows signal, the IRP™ activates full execution mode, charting a personalised roadmap, triggering behavioural nudges, and unlocking access to the IFP™, where funding is proposed, voted, and allocated by GovToken holders. This first round of funding fuels the imminent private beta of idea-L®, anchored in fast-Feasibility™. Additional components, including LIVE-Feasibility™, teamLIVE-Feasibility™, the full IRP™, and the IFP™ funding engine, will roll out progressively by year-end. This staged launch allows idea-L® to deliver immediate value, while continuously evolving the platform through real user feedback. 'We watched brilliant people walk away from great markets because their idea-to-launch costs were too high,' said Goodwin. 'By automating the riskiest slice of the journey, we unlock thousands of experiments that would otherwise die in someone's notebook.' idea-L® leverages best-in-class AI technology, including reasoning-led LLMs in both multi-model and multi-modal contexts, while actively developing proprietary workflows across logical reasoning, probabilistic programming, inference, and evolutionary learning. 'Our aim is to expand applied business theory across product categories, industries, and geographies. Ultimately, we envision large language models making up no more than 20% of our total AI architecture.' said Daniel Muller, speaking on idea-L®'s long-term product vision. A fair-launch sale of GovTokens is set for Q3, 2025. Once live, token holders will exercise quadratic voting over roadmap features, funding allocations, and ecosystem partnerships — effectively turning the user base into the platform's governing body. The same token steers idea-L®'s forthcoming deVC Fund™, an evergreen pool that backs graduates of the IRP™ and aligns incentives between validators, founders, and capital contributors.

Jadwa leads $50 million investment in Saudi fueltech PetroApp

Jadwa Investment has led a $50 million investment in PetroApp, Saudi Arabia's digital fuel and fleet management platform, via its GCC Diversified Private Equity Fund. Bunat Ventures also participated in the round. Founded in 2018 by Abdulaziz Al Senan, PetroApp offers a cashless platform that manages corporate and government fleet payments, eliminates fraud, and enables access to value-added vehicle services such as oil changes, car washes, and tyre replacements. The investment will support PetroApp's retail launch in Saudi Arabia, enhance its technology infrastructure, and accelerate international expansion—positioning it as a key player in digitising mobility under Vision 2030. Press release: Jadwa Investment, a leading investment management and advisory firm in the Middle East, today announced it has led a USD 50 million investment round in PetroApp, Saudi Arabia's leading fuel management platform, through its flagship blind-pool vehicle, Jadwa GCC Diversified Private Equity Fund. Bunat Ventures, a regional venture capital firm, also participated in the round. Founded in 2018, PetroApp is Saudi Arabia's first independent provider of digital fuel payment and fleet management solutions. It is transforming vehicle operations by eliminating cash transactions, reducing fraud, and improving cost control for corporate and government fleets. Beyond fuel, PetroApp also enables access to ancillary services—such as car washes, oil changes, and tyre and battery replacements—via a seamless, fully cashless platform. Today, PetroApp manages over 500,000 vehicles for 10,000+ corporate clients through a network of more than 5,000 fuel stations across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Thailand, and Nigeria, as the company continues its international expansion. It was recently accredited by the Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority (EXPRO) as a qualified provider for government sector services and is preparing to launch its retail offering in the Kingdom, unlocking significant avenues for growth. This transaction marks Jadwa's fifth investment under its Jadwa GCC Diversified Private Equity Fund, launched in late 2024. It follows the fund's recent landmark acquisition of a majority stake in Makhazen Alenaya, a market leader in Saudi Arabia's beauty and personal care retail sector, highlighting Jadwa's active pipeline across high-growth verticals. Tariq Al-Sudairy, Managing Director and CEO of Jadwa Investment, commented: 'PetroApp presents a compelling investment opportunity, supported by a robust technology infrastructure and strong network effects. The investment aligns with our fund's strategy of backing ambitious management teams leading high-growth, scalable businesses across a diversified range of promising sectors.' Elie El-Khoury, Head of Private Equity at Jadwa Investment, added: 'PetroApp's impactful solution reflects the kind of innovation that supports Vision 2030's broader shift toward digitising critical sectors across the Kingdom. This is further reflected in PetroApp's recent accreditation as a qualified service provider by EXPRO.' Abdullah Al Kasabi, Chairman of PetroApp and CEO of RZM Investment, emphasised the significance of this investment round, describing it as a turning point for the company. He stated, 'Back in 2020, we saw in PetroApp a promising model that blends innovation with operational efficiency in serving both fuel stations and corporate clients. Our decision to invest was driven by a clear conviction in the company's vision and its strong potential to deliver sustainable growth. Today, we are proud to welcome Jadwa Investment and Bunat Ventures. This marks a defining milestone in PetroApp's institutional journey and supports our ambition to list on the Saudi Exchange's Main Market.' Abdulaziz Al Senan, Co-Founder and CEO of PetroApp, expressed his enthusiasm about the deal, saying, 'We are excited to embark on this partnership at a pivotal stage in PetroApp's journey. Jadwa's institutional expertise will be critical in strengthening our foundation, accelerating growth, and expanding our leadership in Saudi Arabia and beyond. Together, we remain committed to setting new benchmarks in fuel and fleet management innovation, aligning with our customers' evolving expectations and the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.'

Byzanlink secures $1 million backed by Outlier Ventures

UAE-based RWA tokenisation platform Byzanlink has closed a $1 million private funding round backed by Outlier Ventures, NTDP Saudi Arabia, Smart IT Frame, Sensei Capital, and other angel investors. Founded in 2024 by Anbu Kannappan, Byzanlink operates from DMCC in Dubai, building infrastructure to tokenise traditional financial assets, offering institutional and retail investors broader access, enhanced transparency, and operational efficiency through blockchain rails. The new capital will fuel product development, expand ecosystem integrations, and strengthen regulatory alignment. Byzanlink aims to offer professionally managed, yield-bearing digital instruments, anchoring itself as a core compliance-ready infrastructure layer in the emerging global tokenised asset economy. Press release: Byzanlink, a real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation platform bridging traditional finance and decentralised finance (DeFi), has raised $1 million in a private funding round. The raise attracted a group of early supporters, including Outlier Ventures, NTDP Saudi, Smart IT Frame, Sensei Capital and angel investors Murali Kulala (CEO, Smart IT Frame), Salman Butt (Co-founder, Salla), and Christopher, a seasoned fintech investor, along with several other prominent angel backers. Based in Dubai's DMCC, Byzanlink is building infrastructure to modernise access to institutional-grade investment opportunities through blockchain-based tokenisation. The platform is designed to bring greater transparency, operational efficiency, and broader accessibility to financial assets that have traditionally remained out of reach for many investors. 'Support from such a diverse and forward-thinking group of partners is a strong signal for what we're building,' said Anbu Kannappan, Founder and CEO of Byzanlink. 'We believe the next generation of financial infrastructure will be powered by transparency, automation, and access. We're committed to building that foundation.' With this new capital, Byzanlink will accelerate product development, deepen ecosystem integrations, and strengthen the operational frameworks that support regulatory alignment and institutional adoption. The platform aims to align traditional investment structures with modern financial rails, creating a foundation where capital moves faster, more openly, and with greater programmability. As the tokenisation of real-world assets gains global momentum, Byzanlink is positioning itself as a core infrastructure layer supporting compliant, yield-bearing financial products for institutions, fintechs, and digital-native treasuries. The company's approach centres on a multi-asset model, with plans to support a range of professionally managed, blockchain-native financial instruments. While exact offerings are under development, the platform will prioritise security, liquidity, and real-time transparency. This funding milestone marks a significant step in Byzanlink's journey to reshape how capital is allocated, managed, and accessed in the digital economy.
